Also on The Covenant I think I found a sweet glitch!!! Or its an error in the scheduled events.

When I was going for the 50,000 on that stage I was really having trouble. I didn't know why but I kept coming up 4k short. The main reason was that I wasn't finishing in time. So i was attempting to get 50k without the time bonus.

When I really buckled down I said ok I'm going to get at least the 1.5 time bonus damnit.

I was having trouble getting to the first tower in a timely fashion. So I tried something new and it helped drastically and also it helped me skip a hard part of what I was struggling with:

At the beginning as soon as you start you see get off the ship. The clocks ticking so what I do is walk up, head shot one of the grunts, and he generally is holding a sticky and it blows them all up. I then head directly right along the mountain ridge. I shoot 1 red laser at the wraith and keep moving. If you make it to the other side of the rocks about about 1 minute the rest of the guys don't spawn for some reason until you get all the way to the top of the hill. So the guy in the turret and all his friends aren't even there. You get to the top of the hill at 2 minutes and you see the grunt getting onto the ghost, well you can blast him in the face before he gets on and then you have a ghost to clear out the other 3. After that just jump down and red laser the other wraith and two other vehicles that come shooting at you and you're in.

Also note you have to walk all the way up the mountain because the guy doesn't even spawn to give you a mongoose :lol

This seemed to be the only way I could get the time achievement because you get to skip like 7 minutes of a normal grind. I ended with 78,000 points when I did this and it went very smooth.

Its weird though if you wait until about 3 minutes and then take off you have to fight everyone up the hill as normal.

Amazing job Bungie! Halo 3, even more than Halo 1 and 2, just keeps generating those fuck crazy badass moments that are all because of you, the player. Nothing canned, no QTE or cutscene, just gameplay moments. Imagining and then just trying it and succeeding is so great.

Put the clip of this in your share if you haven't already. That's what makes Halo 3 great, not that you can have these moments, but you can chop them out, and show them off.

Anybody know whats up with Game clips? Can't seem to watch them with pals. When we load up a clip, it tosses us at a black screen, and we just sit there forever. We end up having to sign off of Xbox Live just to get out of it.

Same thing happens to me. I've never once been able to bring a party into a clip and have us all watch it. We have to do the same - reboot.

On the scarab question, it wouldn't surprise me if it was another 'living organism' as one of the goals during mission 4 state "Kill the scarab."

It might explain the difference between the Scarabs from Halo 2 and 3. the Scarab in Halo 2 is completely mechanical while the one in 3 is made up of the same worms as the Hunters. Great stuff!

Team Slayer might be a better option as long as I have a good team. (Looking at you Team Jesus.)

Also are you guys playing? MM is down for everyone I know. bungie.net says the last match played was a custom match ending 12 minutes ago, but I know that can't be right.

I got my Overkill easy in Guardian. It's not that hard in Lone Wolf matches on smaller maps like that.

Just finished the game on Legendary last night with 3 other people. Probably the most fun I've had playing a single player mode in ages. It feels like a completely new game. Co-op is a must have for me now. 1 more achievement to go before I can get my Security armor.

Jesus Christ. Every Oddball game I play, there are at least three guys running around killing everyone instead of grabbing the ball. I just played Oddball at Guardian. I am trying to kill the ball carrier who has 20 pts more than anyone else in the game. I get sniped by the same dude twice who just stood back and was killing random people. Seriously, Halo 3 players are the bunch of dumbest idiots on Xbox LIVE. It's not that hard to understand how to play Oddball.

It's in my fileshare but can't give you the link since bungie.net is down (500 Server Error). Cause it's campaign footage, it's the entire playthrough of the level. 1h40m. Fast forward to 1h12min.
Just hold the right trigger, press start while holding right trigger, then let go of the trigger, then press B.

This way the playback will run at fast speed, if trigger fully pressed it'll fast forward automatically till you interrupt it by pressing A or squeezing the triggers.

To the guy who used the chopper to get on top of the scarab, that's what I did doing it solo legendary, I actually had trouble just getting to the ramp due to the grunt ghost, but it was pretty fun.
