I was even more impressed with Crockett's finisher, big spoiler
trying to keep irate Isabella from shooting him in confused rage while shooting against the main supremacist bad guy; forcefully slams both himself and Isabella down to avoid the guy's gunfire whizzing overhead, then blasts the guy's ankle to drop him under the SUV, then finally nails him twice square in the head while lying down
.

Quadruple ownage?

Indeed, that too was so awesome! The
effects of the two bullets in his head were great too.
Shit the more I keep thinking over this, the more Im loving it.

oh yea Gongli has way too many sex scenes without the boobs coming out in this movie :(

True, but the Naomie Harris side boob was nice.

"Are you wearing a wire? who you workin' with":lol...kinda corny...but it worked, i guess

the movie was really beautiful...the opening scenes at night with the hotels in the background...very cool looking

"Hiding" the airplane...i thought was pretty cool too

I dont think there will be a sequel, for two reasons. First and foremost, its not going to do much at the box office. Forecasts for opening weekend are around $26M, very small for a $150M film. Second, Mann's never done a sequel, and I dont think he's the type that would do one. He seems to like to keep the creative juices flowing, and jump from project to project. That said, Id 100% be on board if there ever were to be a sequel.

Also, I must also chime to say how much I loved that Mann didnt waste time or exposition, or show flashbacks to establish the Tubbs/Crockett relationship. The subtle looks and dialogue and body language (a real testament to Foxx and Farrell) let the audience know these guys have a long history, without descending into the cliche "how we met" flahback.

Mann is already up for a sequel and spoke to both Farrell and Foxx about doing it. I mean Mann was with the TV series for 3 years and he's got plenty of projects between Vice and the sequel to keep him busy so that he's not just going from MV to the MV2.

Hopefully should be seeing the film today, fingers crossed.

yeah the bullets did it for me

oh another great kill
The way the dude in the trailer got killed after the lady said this line about how she was going to kill him before he even had a chance to twitch
****ing awesome! I went OUUHH in the theather with excitement

And how about Tubbs
spraying Yero's insides about 10 feet back and all over the place with the grenade launcher thingie? If that wasn't the most badass kill of this summer movie season, or this year overall, I don't know what is.

I also really can't wait for Mann's commentary on the DVD. Loved his one on Collateral, and I really hope he speaks about the issues with Foxx, though Im sure he wont.

The crowd actually cheered during that moment. And I heard quite a few people "Oh damn" and "Holy crap" during those two final sequences. Some of the kills are just brutal.
Like when Tubbs stole the knife from that guy, put him down, and then just shot the guy in the head when he started getting up again. Somebody in the crowd said something like "Well his ass ain't getting up."
:lol

Oh shit, I totally forgot about that! Gina didn't have much to do in the movie, but she was so badass in that scene. Tubbs ripped the shit up too just before that when he
fcuked up those two guys with the knife.

don't do it SHAKE!

the surprises of the Kills are the best parts of the film
I've read only a few of the kill spoilers, but damn they sold me on this film even more. This sounds so badass :D

I think I may have to convince my company this evening to see the film twice. Its the only way I as a fan can do Mann justice...

Don't highlight ANYTHING from our past page or two if you don't want some serious awesomeness spoiled. Now go see the movie and come back and read the tags! I need to go again ASAP. Monday night perhaps.

BTW, wheres our resident marketer, Brimstone? He hasnt chimed in since the movie came out.

wow even after all the Foxx bullshit Mann is working with him yet again?
Foxx is part of the cast if not the star of - The Kingdom (2007)

I like Jamie Foxx but I don't like the drama dude

I want to hear talks of Vice 2 though the more I talk of this movie the more I think it did make an impact on me as a great film

Much of it was from the various red carpet interviews but MV issue of Entertainment Weekly had this in the article:
"Yeah? Did Michael say that? Really?"

Colin Farrell laughs. It's Mid-July and the actor is reclining on a couch on the Universal lot in Los Angeles. He looks like he's lost about 20 pounds since the shoot. He's relaxed and clean-shaven; his body is toned and his eyes flash with amusement. He looks great.

"A sequel? That madman. I'd definitely think about it."

It's hard to pin point links to some of the red carpet talk and TV coverage but Foxx and Farrell spoke about the sequel with Mann bringing it up and asking them which Foxx especially, surprisingly, pushing for it the most.

Oh and the speedboat race will be on the DVD.

DVD here I come! or blue ray whatever

How is this movie at 49% on rottentomatoes? The movie was amazing! Definitely my favorite movie of the year.

I've never seen the tv show. Is it as badass as this movie was? I would guess it's probably cheesy and fairly dated now.

BECAUSE THERE AREN'T ANY PIRATES OR SNAKES ON PLANES LOLERZ LOLERZ LOLERZ

But seriously, it pains me that more people will be seeing SoaP than some good, wholesome Mann Cinema.

I think Snakes will do well opening weekend, but after that, it will fall harder than Superman Returns did. All the internet nerds will run out to see it on Friday or Saturday. Most people don't even know what the movie is. And remember, Snakes is also rated R. A lot of the people that would see this movie will not be able to.

It was a great TV show in its first 2 years. If you ignore the other 3 years, its probably the best show of the 80's in my eyes. Its a large misconception that the show was cheesey and campy though. Sure, it seems that way now, but everything gets dated. It was a really cutting edge show. It was one of the first to routinely end on a somber, downer note (something that Law and Order then took and ran with).

Anyways, I highly recommend the first season DVD set. The transfers arent very good, but its a cheap set, and that season was ace.

Estimated $8.8 million for Friday, and a projected $26.5 million for the weekend. No chance whatsoever of a sequel.

If you read the bad reviews I could see why people would not see it :(

no sequel is not a bad thing, but if Mann wants one I doubt he would not be able to get his funding

PotC2 got bad reviews, but have been flocking to that for weeks.

Still, dont count out a sequel yet. Despite the lukewarm reviews, Im betting this gets great word of mouth, and may get some decent legs. Itll sell like hotcakes on DVD too.

Also, if the boat chase makes the DVD, I am a happy man!

There was a boat chase? Crap, I knew I missed something. I walked out to get something to eat right after
Crockett and Tubbs took their first shipment off in the plane. When I got back, they were talking about it getting jacked...CRAP!

I guess I'll be buying the dvd then.

No, there WAS a 15 minute, extremely expensive, supposedly fcukawesome chase that opened the rough cut of the movie. It was seen in the trailers, but Mann cut it entirely from the theatrical version :(

Now we get to see it on DVD.

How can you walk out of a film?

I had to piss but I held it for 90 mins... and even thought about taking a piss in my Pepsi cup since the place hardly had anyone at 1pm friday :D

I've done that twice, but this is neither the time nor the place for such talk :)

I'm glad I was not the only one who thought about that idea

seriously I just can't walk away from a good movie, just can't even if I plan on seeing it again

The only movie I can remember leaving for an extended period of time was X3, and I hear all I missed were
a few character deaths
which I had already had spoiled for me. Meh.

I don't think I've sat in a movie for the entire time without getting up once this summer...oh wait, I was able to hang through Pirates of the Caribbean, but thats it. I usually try to time it when I think a slow sequence is coming up...but looks like I made a big mistake. I should have went when
Crockett and Isabella were in Cuba...quite a few chances to get a snack in that sequence

My bladder almost exploded during Silent Hill earlier this year. I held my piss for the last 45 minutes, and I still regret it. After that I just go when the feeling takes me, unless there is some mindblowing action going on.

Now Mann needs to deliver the ultimate crossover crime flick. Im talking De Niro and Pacino's Heat characters, Cruise's Collateral character, and Vice's Farrell and Foxx characters. Obviously Im ignoring whether or not they died here. I dont know what the story would be, or how you could get them all together, but how awesome would that be?

Cruise takes Foxx hostage, Pacino's character trails Cruise, Cruise wants to kill Deniro's character, and the MV duo infiltrate Cruise's organization and team up with Pacino to take him down.

6 HOUR EPIC MANN SPLOOGE FEST OH YES OH YES OH YES!!!!

I was disappointed in the movie. Too much time spent on the relationships, not enough Sonny and Rico. Some plot threads went nowhere and others were just too predictable. I thought Foxx was right for the part, but Farrel as Sonny was just a flat character for me. Need a little more humor and much more cool.

I rarely walk out on any movie I can't remember the last time I did that.

I missed seeing a few movies due to fooling around with my girl in a mostly empty theater, I miss dating those kinds of women, I can't believe I have been dating a virgin for almost a year now... sheeesh I'm getting old :(

Sadly the only Digtial Projection theater close to me is showing "Monster House". I'm a bit dissapointed in this.

I'm probably going to see the movie Sunday or Monday. Less people and a less raccous crowd is more appealing to me anyway. I saw Pirates of the Carribean on a the second day of release, a Saturday, it just reminded me of how I like going to the movies on the not-so-popular days.

Yeah. According to the DLP site, there's not one place in the state of CA that is digitally projecting Miami Vice. That's inexcusable.

Whats the website address that lists theaters using Digital Projection?
