From ''that other thread'' :

What is this, I don't even....
Ahaha, what the fuck. I don't think anyone here has been made to feel worse off for not enjoying what's being posted here. Shit, we're probably introducing people to different music than the "EDM" thread which isn't "underground".

The whole "EDM" term is a fucking wank, anyway. Electronic Dance Music? Pretty sure that's exactly what's posted here ALL THE FUCKING TIME.

Edit: I just... ugh :(
Yes! Finally a place for some proper EDM!
Now I'm gonna feel guilty every time I post a track in this thread by Cirez D, Kavinsky or Digitalism :(

I like bleep bloop music can you direct me to some other artitsts of that sound? Like bassnectar and avicii.
Also where can I get one of these scar-fes from?
I tried to go to a party on the roof of an abbonded mine shaft that some scubadiver was playing at but they said "no! Scar-fe wearers only" :(

Pronounced "scar-fay"?

That'll learn me to be presumptuous. Fired this up and waited... didn't think I'd like it... and then I kinda dug it, from a pure headfucking perspective, though. Hearing a fuckload of Kraftwerk in it, though! Like, Kraftwerk on meth?

Kratwerk had a huge influence on Detroit artists. Stingray just carrying on that tradition.

Timeless. And no better way to rediscover them than through the Clone re-issues. A must-listen for any serious bleep blooper.
Ha! Journey Of The Deep Sea Dweller I, II and III actually triggered my rediscovery. I have to agree, essential stuff. Even if it's just a subset of their work. It's really interesting that Clone pretty much just included the licensed stuff from Submerge and didn't added anything from the Grava4 album. Anyways, the older releases on Tresor are amazing too.

Indeed... Neptune's Lair is my all-time favourite, but I love all their work so much. Not to mention the myriad side projects. So much an amazing amount of music to delve into. James Stinson's death was a massive loss to the world of techno.

I respect him indefinitely, but the last few times I heard Mills live I was very disappointed.

Not sure what you mean by that, but he was rocking his 909..

he did sets for a couple of years that was his "space" sets. based around space travel and such. It was very minimal and low key. More ambient. Hes even taking it one step further this year and worked with Japanese astronaut Mamoru Mohri on a new album called Where Light Ends.

He's still the GOAT DJ though. Sorry Barry, youre a very close second.

Ah ok!

No the last few times I heard him live he was doing a regular techno DJ set including some loops and bits from his 909.

Neptune's Lair is indeed amazing, so packed with quality and diversity! It's a shame that he had to leave us this early, although he left his mark like few others.

These are great, thanks for the links.
You're welcome, really just the tip of the iceberg. There's MUCH more!

Hud Mo - Pleasure (free MP3 from Pleasure Principle Weekender) [FREE]

A month to go before Pleasure Principle Weekender (pleasureprinciple.net) so here's a special treat from Hudson Mohawke... a mastered 320k digital download of this 'Pleasure' remix from 2011, which until now only featured on a rare vinyl only release.

Mmm, janet.

Avatar change! If you haven't heard it, I really, REALLY love this take on his biggest track. Hell, I'd go so far as to say I prefer it to the original.

Speaking of LNTG and Janet...
OXflbBf.jpg

U jelly?

PS. That new LNTG track... oh man, has Paradise Garage all over it. I haven't heard the original FK mix (though LNTG himself says it doesn't sound that different) but I think I want to track it down as well, just to have a listen.
