So yeah,none of the streams are working for me....
I assume that some nice soul is gonna upload the Uncharted 2 and God Of War 3 trailers to HD youtube ? :D

With the gametrailers guys having such a bigger hand in the VGA's this year it's obvious it is probably going to be a better show. But there are still the holdovers that I dislike (the acting nominations are crap for example) and the hollywood D list people showing up just feels so shitty. You know the feeling i'm talking about. The feeling of such extreme embressment that I want to turn away from the screen.

That being said I want to do some predictions of who I think WILL win and who I think SHOULD win. I do it at the Oscars every year and it's fun!

Well I swore I would never watch another VGA after the horrid first one. Games that were loathed by gamers and critics won, and amazing games that everyone loved lost. Maybe this year will be different. Oh and the fact that I girl I briefly dated and then called things off with is the VGA music coordinator and I think I may have made a mistake ending things when I did. Never in a million years would I have guessed the VGA's would act as a crutch to try to date a chick.

You know, I was kind of looking forward to this year's VGA Ceremony because God of War III and Brutal Legend were featured, but hearing about this rehearsal my anticipation went from 5% to Nothing.

Thanks a lot Spike TV, you made video games and the people who play them look like total asses. But hey that's what I get for putting trust in a channel that runs nothing but CSI repeats and Police Chases.

Nope. They were on earlier. Now it's just a black screen with the Spike TV logo in the bottom right corner. If you see this, you'll be able to watch live.

Nice that this is live also. I thought I was going to have to find another way to watch it. I don't care about the awards so much as the trailers.

:( I thought MGS4 looked really nice. It had some framerate issue, but there was zero texture pop-in, amazing character models, brilliant attention to detail, and basically zero visible glitches. Versus Gears of war 2 which features a few weird issues with pop-in and graphical transitions between levels and cutscenes. These issues are small I know, but they just added on to the personal preference I have to the look of MGS4. Don't get me wrong they both look great, but I just prefer MGS4.

As a MGS fan I did. I don't see how it could look better than Gears 2. Also, the technical side of the game is pretty bad : loadings, installs, and ugly shadows.
It still looks great imo, because of the art direction and the extremely well made characters.

Anyway, can't wait to see GOW3 and Mafia II. Please Mass Effect or Crackdown 2 be here too.

Well it's voted on by journalists from all the major publications, and they were the ones that gave GTAIV such high scores, so I think no matter who votes GTAIV would win.

To be fair though it's one person from each site and a perfect storm could occur where the people who loved GTAIV are not the voters. I see that happening for every game on the GOTY list.

You don't have to explain yourself defending the visuals of the game that had such an incredible amount of artists and production effort put into it, even if it has some technical problems. MGS4 looked simply outstanding, and from a technical perspective it has done many things amazingly well too.

Yeah I think after last year and my absolute astonishment that people neglected to see how amazing Uncharted looked I feel I need to defend this specific category. Weird that graphics can be so subjective.

• Best Fighting: Soul Calibur 4 (Project Soul) wtf, have they played any other figthing game SC4 is one of the worst this year

• Best Portable: Professor Layton (Level 5) totaly don't agree, but nice to see the game get noticed
• Best Wii: Boom Blox (EA Casual) no comment
• Best Individual Sports: Shaun White Snowboarding (Ubi Montreal) are they crazy, how much did Ubi pay 4 this
• Best Female in a Game: Jenny McCarthy as Tanya in Red Alert 3 (EA Westwood) again, how the fuck did this win
• Best Game Based on a Movie or TV Show: Lego Indy (Traveller’s Tales) The Naruto PS3 game was good, but it wasn't even nominated
• Best Performance by a Human Male: Michael Hollick as Niko Bellic (Grand Theft Auto IV) No way, totally no
• Big Name in a Game: Kiefer Sutherland (Call of Duty: World at War) who else was there?
• Gamer God Inductee: Will Wright (Sim City, Spore) He deserves it
 
I can't help it anymore.

I'm going to watch it, all of it. The whole terrible event. 50 cent, kim kardashian, games winning awards they should have never been nominated for, all of it. Do I want to support Spike TV with ad revenue? Nope. Do I want to watch this in SD? Nope. But damn it, God of War 3... Uncharted... Mafia.. I basically have no choice :lol :lol
