He has come back from 2 sets down before. and if there was ever another golden opportunity, this is it because he isn't down 2 sets to federer of Nadal....

Cilic playing well, Murray's lay and pray ground game doesn't seem to be bothering Cilic at the moment. Interesting match to see if Murray can still pull out the win when he's playing subpar.

If Murray loses here and Nadal's stomach problems continue, Federer might as well bust out the champagne tonight.

I don't think he would have had any problems winning anyway.

IMO Murray can't beat Federer with any consistency.

is he actually nursing a wrist issue? he doesn't look at all normal.

He had wrist problems in the past, adjusted the weight/swingweight of his frame to make it easier on the wrist. Not sure if the wrist excuse is legit today or not, he wasn't grabbing it in the first set.

I don't mean to be an ass, but what skills brought Murray to #2 in the world? I've really only paid attention to him for the last few tournaments, but I have yet to see anything that impresses me other than his ability to scramble and act like a backboard.

Like someone else said, if he loses here and Nadal is unable to overcome his injuries, the tournament's organizers may as well hand the trophy to Federer now. Ugh...

He's a human backboard, serves 135mph+ which allows him to play extremely defensive against his opponents on their serve games. He just rarely misses a ball, and plays extremely well against aggressive players which is the majority of the men's tour. He's also extremely fit which allows him to play that defensive style so well. The only guys that might be more fit are Verdasco, Nadal, and Fed.

I don't know if there is a single player on tour that likes to play Murray, his get every ball back with minimal pace strategy is highly annoying for the aggressive players. The best way to beat him is to play with calculated risk, but also to make him beat you instead of donating points to him because of impatience.

I can't see Murray coming back from 2 sets down, especially since he seems so set on playing conservatively like he always does.

I'm really looking forward to the Nadal/Monfils match later today. That could be a lot of fun.

Has Monfils ever beaten Nadal?

:lol Joker McEnroe impressions. I didn't catch them last night, but that's hilarious.

Wow!! I thought Murray was going to cruise in this match.. But I should have known better after watching the amazing match Cilic played against Haas at Wimbledon.

If Murray goes out and Nadal loses to Monfils (Which might happen, if Monfils is fit), then the potential SF between Federer and Djokovic will decide the championship. Djokovic has also gotten back the support of the crowd.

But I would love to see a Federer/Tsonga final. The last time they played Federer surrendered a 5-1 lead in the final set. Federer would be set for revenge

Murray broken in the third set.

Del Potro def. Fererro.

Murray loses here, there goes his 1400 points for the US Open final that he didn't defend, and with it, probably his #2 ranking.

I remember some announcer saying that Nadal gets his #2 back if he makes it 1 round further than Murray.

That sounds about right. So Murray loses here and Nadal wins tonight, he gets #2 back.

Sky Sports showed Murray arriving earlier, with some sort of patch on his wrist. They were hoping it wasn't anything serious.

Guess it was though.

Cilic is playing great, too. Can't just write this off as Murray's injury.

Combination of Murray choking at the end of the first set, his poor returning, and Cilic being a consistent bugger.

This puts Federer's consistency into perspective. It ain't easy to dominate all those grand slams. What's he at 22 straight semis?
