Interesting predicament here for Gael, low in the gas tank but does he fight back for a break which will take his energy and try to hold to take this set in a breaker.

Damn. It.

If they go to a tie break this set Monfils will win 8/10 on this type of court (serve). Unless he get's a second wind though Rafa is going to make him work and cut his legs out from underneath him. This is intense.

Monfils is playing out of his mind, but he's not going to make it through another two sets. :lol

I'd say this a serious candidate for the best men's match.

The quality of points in the first 2 sets has been off the charts, but now we'll see if Monfils is done or not.

I hope you've learned a valuable lesson tonight Speevy.

That Gael Monfils isn't Rafa Nadal? I knew that, but Nadal's injuries combined with this guy's chants and tenacity in the early sets led me to believe we might be seeing an upset.

Well, if not for the gas tank Monfils was right there, and his gas tank was suspect considering his lack of play this summer. As much talk as there was about Nadal's knees according to others his layoff had more to do with his parent's divorce. It appears as though Nadal was doing plenty of cardio because he looks the exact same as he did before in that department.

No doubt you'll be highly entertained by Gonzo/Nadal if you found this to be a thriller, Gonzo has also beaten Nadal on the big stage before. It all depends on which version of Gonzo shows up to play because Nadal will definitely be there in full force.

Was the first set like as good as the second one? Cause I woke in the middle of the second set only to see probably the most amazing rallies in this tournament so far , and just wondered how the hell these two are planning to hold this pace for atleast 2 more sets(Well Monfils didn't but if these 2 are completly healthy I want to see a rematch!).. I set my alarm glock a little bit later so that I won't have to see anything of that big scary women, and now I'm bummed that I missed the first set of this amazing match :C
