Fed should turn into a complete jackass during the pre-match interviews.

So what do you expect from your opponent Roger?

"I expect him to lose, like everyone else does."

Also when he wins, he should walk up to the net reach out his hand to shake then pull it back and say "Nice try!"

Actually, it's the second apology I've seen from a player. First one I saw was Nadal in Wimbledon when he beat Federer. Good times. :lol

Also, I want to know why the crowd booed Shriver when she said Caro was the favorite heading into the semis. Is she not the favorite? What was wrong with what she said?!

I think she accidentally mocked her next opponent - something like: "you're the favorite, especially since you're up against *smirk* Wickmayer".

It begs the question of whether Federer is so good that he actually plays conservatively to be nice to his opponent.

Well he definitely tries to play with some 'margin of safety' unless he really has to go all out. Not too sure its to make his opponents look good though. :D

Federer with a ridiculous half-volley backhand pick up from the baseline to a hot return from Soderling = AWESOME.

Edit: I'm starting to get a bad feeling about this. Hopefully Federer can break Soderling now and finish this off.

Soderling is finally playing against Fed without looking at Fed's last name. Took him a while.

Upset? :OO Oh well, so much for that, 2 errors to finish it.

Looking forward to Gonzo/Nadal tomorrow even though Nadal has owned the recent hardcourt results. Oudin finally had a letdown, good momentum for her to build on at a young age though. Wickmayer/Wozniacki is a tossup, whoever makes less errors probably wins.

Who do you favor in the semifinal between her and Wickmayer?

Caro of course! I love her consistency. I would be ecstatic if she won her first ever major this weekend but it will definately be tough considering she would face either S. Williams/Clijsters in the finals.

I really haven't seen enough of both to make a judgment. I saw Caroline for the first time in the Kuznetsova match, and I caught a glimpse of Wickmayer earlier today for the first time as well. I wasn't impressed with Caroline, to be honest, her forehand has no power behind it. I think Wickmayer looks more solid on the court, but I'll be rooting for Wozni.

Has it been discussed here already that Djokovic invited children of 9/11 victims to sit in his guest box during his match against Verdasco? Whatever might be my issues with him, that was a nice gesture. Here is what he had to say about this:

CBS Sports said:
Djokovic said he hasn't been talking with the children about the tragedy, the eighth anniversary of which comes Friday, but that he did want to reach out to them and offer them a unique experience.

"We're trying to enjoy. We're young. They're young. They're trying to enjoy their life, and they came to tennis," he said. "So this is the positive message. We don't want to, you know, get back in the past. What already happened, happened. It's life."

I don't think she had a let down, she just finally played someone that put together a consistent game and she lost. She benefited greatly from players having uneven games, and that's definitely credit to her for not backing down while managing to put together at least two sets of consistency. But she's nowhere near that current top players if they're on their game.

what a match!!!

Fantastic effort by Soderling in the last two sets, but Federer was just too good in the end.

22 in a row.. that is just insane :D

I like the little joke Federer made about the temperature feeling like Switzerland at first and then feeling like Sweden! Haha

Anyway, after the failed 3rd set TB, Roger looked pissed for the next couple of games. Good thing he pulled through but jesus, I give mad props to Soderling for his skills tonight.

Sounds like today was a lot of fun. Too bad Oudin got knocked out, but it was just a matter of time. She didn't beat Kuznetsova, she beat herself with unforced errors and double faults. Oudin just stuck it out with a solid but uninspiring defensive game. Once she reached someone who wasn't Russian and couldn't be frustrated by her, she was done.

IF they're on their game, problem is most of the quote un quote top players are rarely on their game. Oudin's ranking is going to go up up up, Wozniaki was more steady, and Oudin didn't finish points, but scoreline doens't do the match justice. Because the women's game is so erratic Oudin has a good chance against most of the top 10, and she's only going to improve. Wozniacki has made the top 10 by the simple fact that she just get's everything back and plays defensively, Oudin can do the same thing.

I'm jacked up for Gonzo/Nadal tomorrow, Gonzo won't care what Nadal does, he's pretty much gonna crush everything and say fuck it! Definitely can't wait for that one.

Man if Soderling pulled that match out, he would become an immortal legend as the giantslayer that took down Nadal and Fed in the same year.

Would have been huge for Soderling, Fed looked a little nervous for a second there.

Woz will probably win 6-0 6-0. Oddest semi-final matchup I've seen.

I think I heard one of the commentators say that its been done twice before, and that Soderling would be the third.

I was too busy watching Caro's smile when the crowd booed Shriver. I youtubed the video and noticed what I missed the first time I watched the interview.

Do you guys see what she did that was so disrespectful?

Nah not really. She said "Wickmayer" in a bit disrespectful tone but that can't be it can it?

Off course Wozniacki is the big favorit, odds are 1.25 for Wozniacki (Meaning you get 25€ if you bet a 100€).

EDIT: Well after seeing this she seems to be an idiot :lol
