2 sets to 0, that about wraps this one up

fed has been pulling out some sick trick shots in that set

so fed del potro should be interesting tomorrow

Fed has to play way better than this if he wants to beat Del Potro. I can't remember seeing him play like this and still win.

seriously. could have gone either way

I don't think so, not with the way Federer responds to pressure.

The times Federer loses have something in common. Players punish him. Players make him run. Federer doesn't beat himself, which is what Djokovic is hoping he will do in this match.

fed clearly hasnt been playing his best today, but he's got more in his toolbox than djokovic, wasnt playing well at the start of the match so he started going to the net, and he's only getting like 55% of his first serves in today

i think fed has won like 28/33 points or something absurd at the net today

No excitement.

Oh. Well you haven't been watching it.

Oudin, Nadal/Monfils, Roddick/Isner, Del Potro against anyone, Clijsters comeback, Serena meltdown, etc.

As a matter of fact, the sheer number of ranked players getting beaten in this tournament has made it exciting.

Oudin was exciting. Serena was weird. Del Potro, I guess I need to watch this guy! I didn't get to watch the Roddick match because I didn't have the Tennis Channel. Here hoping for a good Mens championship.

But it didn't. Federer won the points he needed.

I agree that Federer had it more or less under control, but I just resented Speevy's original bragging how he was right Federer would make "short work" of Djokovic when that couldn't be further from the truth.

Del Potro vs Nadal was "easily dismissing" someone. This is a match.

I would say Novak Djokovic played a respectable match, but after the second break in the first set, Roger had this well in hand.

what an unbelievable end to a great match with lots of great points. Federer called the between the legs shot his greatest shot ever.

Congrats to Federer for reaching yet another U.S Open final, and good tournament by Djokovic.

Federer has now made it to 7 consecutive GS finals. He is tied with Jack Crawford second on that list. Guess who is first on that list?? Federer..with 10 consecutive finals.

This man is unreal. I don't know how some people aren't convinced that he is the greatest.

Tomorrow's final should be great. Federer is going for his 6th consecutive title here and to become the first man to ever win 6 consecutive titles in the Open Era in ANY tournament. So, to do it in a GS is incredible. On the other hand, Del Potro is going for his first GS title and he is looking good.

If we can't see a Nadal/Federer match, I'd rather he not make it to the finals. That and he already passed Sampras, so I'd rather see him lose.
Interestng logic. I wanted a Nadal / Fed clash too but I still was rooting for Fed. Worried about Del Potro though, Fed has to play better than today.

great match. i really enjoy Djokovic's personality, seems like a great guy :D

am i the only one to think nadal played like shit? i think ppl r giving potro too much credit :/

So I turned this on between football games. Who's the genius who schedules the US Open to end on the first weekend of the NFL? And Djokovic should go join Barnum and Bailey, he clearly would prefer to be a clown than a champion.

This is the exact kind of jealous mentality I was speaking of Speevy. Sorry if I wrongly directed it towards you. ;)

Why? The dude is able to put on awesome shows in the finals. Just look at the Wimbledon match with Roddick. Do you really think Del Potro vs. Chokovic would've been fun to watch?
