The Official White Knight Chronicles Thread

Shouta, you were Aria (or something like that)??

I will add you later!. Right now I'll be away but I'll come back in about two hours!.

Yeah I am gonna take a break for now, been playing all day. I love lazy vacation days.

If anyone else wants to play later just post in here or send me a msg on PSN. gonna leave my PS3 on.

I fixed my real bow so I can actually do some damage next time :D

I need to figure out where to find all these materials so I can make some new items though.

I'll be playing in about 1 hour from now.

And yeah, your bow was almost going to break :lol Too bad you changed to a sucky one (you did like less than 20damage each time!)

Regarding the new stuff, what level do you have now in that store? I'm at around 4 or something like that (around 3000 points) and there are some nice looking one-handed swords. I think most of the stuff are available on the quests. Like the stuff we picked on the ground and all that.

I'm also an ex-FFXI addict and have been looking for another game like it ever since (with improvements of course). So the direct comparisons thus far definitely has my interest piqued even more.

Hearing about these bows, bad gear doing weak damage, bows almost breaking, and synthing new bows has me giddy. :D

Hints of possible depth.

It just keeps getting deeper :)

Once you get to the city in the desert, it gets way deeper with some more customizations :).

Also every weapon and armor can break after using a lot (though you can fix them) and you can give them properties (fire, wind, etc..) and improve them using different items (so they become stuff like "Dagger +4", "+5", etc..).

There's more stuff to it, though :)

Haha oh man (Big grin). That guy on that stream really messed up rushing through everything. Well it seemed like he rushed. I didn't see everything but bits and pieces and it seemed like he had stock gear.

The first rpg I played with synthesis was Star Ocean 2 and it blew my mind that I could make stuff in it.

I'm going back to the game!. Budokai or/and Shouta, are you guys around? :)

Ploid3.0, just trust me: You are gonna LIKE this game, definitely. It might not be perfect, and they do indeed need to fix some stuff, but damn it's an entertaining game! :)

I'm solo doing that quest that we were doing earlier since it booted my ass out. >=|

Also, you guys need to accept my friend invites by checking your mailbox on Geonet!

I know on most japanese games you can switch to the english keyboard and type in english. Can you do the same for this game?

Alright I'm done with the quest, but I don't mind doing it again!.

ATTN - A different boss showed up while playing 4 players! ;O

Shouta, I'll create a room. Join in!.

I think that will be good if anybody can create a tutorial about Geonet register for those who doesn't know Japanese. :( .

Yesasia email me saying taht the new ship date is Jan/07/2009 :( .

Will the JPN version of this be patched with whatever changes will be made in the US version? If not, I'll just wait for the US version.

By then Star Ocean IV would be out so I dunno if I would play 白騎士. Come to think of it, Killzone 2, Biohazard 5, and Street Fighter IV...so I guess once I get back to Japan I will need to play it then or I won't play it at all.

/sadface

Sorry for the rant, it's 9:00 a.m. here in NYC, my family is very upset at me...I went downstairs to play MGS4 at 3 a.m. and didn't the noticed how loud it was.

How much repetitive filler does this game have? Is it MMORPG-level, FF12-level, or is it as filler-free as something like Chrono Trigger?

uh.. this is some sort of MMO now?

I always thought it was a singleplayer RPG with some online enabled quests?

It is a singe-player RPG with online enabled quests. :lol

The game is a bit MMO-ish to begin with though so it lends itself pretty easily to online.

So for most of my bow upgrades it says I need 小さな苗木 and I can't find this anywhere. Any ideas at all?

Hrm, I haven't seen that item yet I don't think. I'll let you know tomorrow. I'm hitting the hay or so now. Did one of the GR 2 quests by myself. Took 50 mins and I killed 75 spiders but I did it solo! :lol Also gained 3 levels =x

How do you access the online quests? Is it through the singleplayer as you get to one area and access it, or is it unlocked via the main menu once you access it in singleplayer, or what?

Also, how is the balance for online quests? My interest would mainly be playing it with friends. If the quests are level-dependant, that'd be a bit demanding in terms of requiring everyone to be at about the same level in order to have the quest provide a challenge, or requiring all the players to be at more or less the same part in the sp - different players play at different paces.

To access the online quests, just go to the World Map (in Single Player) and choose the location you want. When clicking on it, it asks you if you want to go there or do a quest that happens in that area. Click on quest and click on 'With someone', and there you go, online quest.
Other way is to go to the stones where you save and click on GeoNet and create a room so other friends join in.

Holy fuck. Getting better weapons using the mix system is a pain in the ass!! :lol They could have made it so you give out some basic materials AND a lot of money... but no... So I just kept giving money until I got this one weapon for level 25 that only requires materials into the mix and not other weapons (which also require materials to be mixed to get it.. ugh)

Getting every combine in Rogue Galaxy is why my savegame for it is over 230 hours.

Where did you read that?

Edit: Apparantly these are chartz estimates. False alarm.

132k for day one is still all we know then.

Wow WKC has sold over 200k this week.
Marks it as the most successful next gen RPG.
That's great news.
Good news, but I think it's mean most successful opening week on console. Hope it will have great bit of leg sale with 85% sellout on 3 to 4 days.

Man I can't wait for the english version... Sooner than later, you guys are making me so jealous!!

Thanks.

Do online quests scale depending on player level and how many players there are?

A bit, but not much. The enemies around are still the same (you just might encounter more of them), what changes is the boss, and not always.

I'm hopeful for this, but leery. I'm not expecting Final Fantasy or something like that, but a pretty and fun RPG is just what the PS3 needs (sorry, Valkyria Chronicles, I just don't love you like I should).

Of course the one night I am actually not online playing is the one night that everyone decides to get online and hook up with the first night the servers are all working. -_-

Be sure to be on tonight, more impressions the merrier. :D It needs a screen capture feature, and a youtube video feature (probably too much to ask for the youtube)

Funny thing is, there's this crystal thing that works as an in-game camera and you can take pictures, but there's nothing to do with it other than using it as your header in your own site on Geonet.

Btw, I just finished this quest on some tunnels and holy hell, what a PAIN in the ass!!. It was fun though because I was playing with another three guys telling jokes all the time :P
