The Order 1886 or Bloodborne?

I think The Order looks like trash, I'm not going to bother playing it unless the metascore is at least 8.8.

lol I have no words.

On Topic: I have Bloodborne coming because of a pre-order discount. I'll pick up The Order if it reviews fairly well, although I'm not as specific as this guy.

I initially wanted to get both, but I've changed my mind and decided that I'm gonna wait for more reviews and impressions on both games before purchasing.

If 2014 has taught me anything, it's that it's very rare for a game to be released as 100% complete or functional. There's always day one patches, game servers being faulty, or a definitive version of the game releasing in a year or so.

Sure, I might miss out on some bundled game merchandise, or I may read game spoilers --but I think that in general, good things come to those who wait.
(...cept of course when it comes to Amiibos. If you're into those, grab them ASAP)

I think this is a given. I really don't trust any company in this industry to buy their game on day one any more. Though Bloodborne is from a Japanese dev so chances of the game actually working on release are much, much higher.

I'm getting both , but I'm a junior my opinion doesn't matter lol.
Sure it it does. As long as its the right opinion...

What are you getting by the way? I love the look of both, but I'm more excited for the Order. I have this weird feeling the game will be insanely linear, but it's ok as long as the story is good and the pacing properly done. I'll preorder Bloodborne later this month.

I'm getting both. These are 2 games I refuse to miss out on. I'm really looking forward to The Order, its exactly what I want right now. Bloodbourne looks equally impressive but for very different reasons. This year is off to a great start.

Nope I didn't ignore your post at all. It was so good that I didn't know what more to add :)

I applauded inside. I'm on Chrome, so I didn't want to blow my browser up by quoting it :)

Well at least it fell on a few ears. I just felt my blood pressure slowly rising to a boil as I was reading through this thread. The FUD surrounding the game is absolutely uncalled for and needed to be addressed. Somebody had to do it and I finally had enough. Might as well be me. Hopefully a few of the uninformed take a gander and we can cut down on the misinformation in the future. I sincerely hope the OP sees it.

Bloodborne for sure. The Order looks cool but I am stil sad about it not being co op. Will get it later this year when my back catalogue is cleared tho.

I'm getting Bloodborne. The Odor doesn't look like it has all that much going for it outside of the admittedly spectacular graphics. In all likelihood, it's an 8-10 hour campaign with little replay value, trophy gamers excepted. If it turns out to be the bee's knees, I'll just pick it up on the cheap.

Before coming into this thread I thought tides were turning on GAF in regards to The Order but its now clear to me that the ignorant (or straight up lying) shitposts

will not be ending any time soon. I am absolutely disgusted with some the total bullshit I have read in this thread.

OP if you want to see what The Order is and what it's all about take a look at these

So your choice OP but for your own sake ignore the trolls.

Yeas, ignore the trolls, listen to the guy that bases his opinion about how good the game is on how good the game looks. That seems perfectly reasonable. (You must have loved Liar back when it was released).

Except my post also highlighted the OST, gameplay and story but by all means be reductive to further prove my point.

The Order. Not sure about Bloodborne. I have never played Dark Souls so I'm on the fence about if it is really for me. I will try out DS before deciding on Bloodborne though.

What do you know about all of these except some snippets that have been released here and there? You really think you have a good idea on how deep the story is by reading a small over view? You really think you know how good the gun play is based on one GIF where a guy gets shot and jumps in the air? And I love how you used the most generic and over-used word to "explain" the gun play:Visceral.
You know you are the exact example of a rookie customer, a guy who forms his opinion on a game based on pre-released promotional material for a game.

Taking random and superficial vitriol about video games on the internet that seriously seems like an exercise in futility that is not worth the thought or effort. (If you've worked on the game in some capacity, however, I can understand your frustrations as people are unfairly down on something you've put in a lot of time and effort on.) Then again, I've never really understood the deep tribalism that games seem to inspire in people, whether it be unjustified hatred or volunteer shilling.

Naysayers will be proven illegitimate once the game is out and others have shared their impressions if they were wrong, anyway.

Man I spend ages compiling a massive post addressing the fud in this thread and it goes completely ignored ... *sigh* oh well I tried

Sorry, I commend the time you spent on your post, but it has very little actual substance/added value; instead if has a bunch of non-gameplay YouTube links and some pretty GIFs. 90% of your post is pretty, non-gameplay footage, which is fine, but serves to further reinforce what people are saying about the game.

Also, you lost me when you used the term "visceral" in regards to the game's gunplay.

Nobody has a clue of The Order will be the unforgettable experience you're making it out to be. In fact, neither do you. So your post just reeks of fanboyism. That's not t say people claiming it will be "utter shit" aren't wrong; they are, too.

Overall, I think Bloodborne looks better/comes from a tried and true franchise and formula. I am confident both will be solid, perhaps even splendid games, but there's no reason to believe The Order will be this amazing experience like you're making it out to be.

In the end, i will get both, as I'm sure so will many others. But if someone put a gun to my head and said pick one, I'd go with Bloodborne in a heartbeat.

The order. Bb is way overhyped

What? Wait, really, what? Bloodborne is hyped based on the very real quality gameplay and formula already proven by FROM in the entire Souls franchise, and excellence displayed time and time again by Miyazaki when making the Souls games.

The Order, on the other hand, nobody has a real clue about. If anything is erroneously hyped, it's The Order. Nothing that has been shown of that game shows extraordinary promise, and people have 0 reason to believe it'll be good before it's released and reviewed/played.

It's got the best graphics on console by far, and that's all most people need to get hyped!

I'm getting both but Bloodborne would be my pick based upon the fact that I put hundreds of hours into each iteration of the Souls series. I feel like I'll put 10+ hours into The Order, and beat it a couple times after that, so yea.

Bloodborne seems like to be more worth the buck, so I'd go with that if you have to choose.

I will certainly get Bloodborne. Still hesitating about The Order. It sure looks great and all but I'm not sure about how it'll play. Will probably wait for a few reviews before I get it.

It's amusing and scary how invested some people get in a game that they haven't even played yet.

I'm rather curious how The Order will review.

OP, have you played any of the Souls games? If yes and you liked it and want more of it then the choise is obvious. If not then skip both of those games and play Dark Souls instead.

I'm going to wait for both to tank in price first.

The Order will probably be $20 by summer anyways. I'll get Bloodborne at the first sale.

I got at least 600 hours of Monster Hunter awaiting me to care about getting those both at launch.

I have plenty of reason to believe it will be good, thanks.

The Order for me. In the mood for a linear joyride for once and the masochistic Souls games have never appealed to me.

You a PR guy?

Yah, what's funny about that is 1 and 4 are the same thing worded 2 different ways, 3 doesn't mean shit (what the fuck is "visceral" and how does it possibly describe gunplay? it's also funny to describe something you haven't personally experienced as "visceral"), and if I cared about 2 I'd just buy the OST instead of the game.

The order is the type of game that you spend 6-9 hours playing through once on normal difficulty. And then if you enjoy it, you spend another 5 hours playing the game on hard.

Bloodborne is a souls game essentially. So it's the type of game you'll spend hundreds of hours in. It's made by a team who has already proven their stuff making this exact same type of game.

I'll end up buying the order because I have nothing to play from now until late March, but the answer to your question is obvious.

What do you know about all of these except some snippets that have been released here and there?

Oh I see so we are sticking with being reductive again are we? Ok.

You really think you have a good idea on how deep the story is by reading a small over view?

No but I do think I get a good taste for what to expect form the story based on the various snippets theyve given thus far via the ARG site or the Exploratory lore site I linked in the original post or the story trailer. That's not to mention the demos we have seen and the other trailers. Certainly this is enough to see that its a compelling narrative.

You really think you know how good the gun play is based on one GIF where a guy gets shot and jumps in the air? And I love how you used the most generic and over-used word to "explain" the gun play:Visceral.

Also, you lost me when you used the term "visceral" in regards to the game's gunplay.

Visceral meaning "of, relating to, or located on or among the viscera : splanchnic <visceral organs>" which is exactly what is on display in the GIF I posted. Do you not see the explosive shells rending his body to peices whilst buckets of gore erupt from it? What other word is there to describe that exactly? Like it or not that is the appropriate word to use despite the fact that its been needlessly bandied about by journalists to describe things that arent even remotely that.

As far as your calim that I am basing it solely off that GIF again that is not even remotely true there have been countless trailers and demos released at this point which showcase the gunplay in the game including decaptitation, dismemberment, enemies burning alive and the shooting of grenades in enemeis hands resulting in the evisceration of said enemies. All of these are, in fact, visceral. Couple this with a personal positive reaction from a recent demo along with a swathe of GAF members and you get a pretty good basis for the argument of having good gunplay.

You know you are the exact example of a rookie customer, a guy who forms his opinion on a game based on pre-released promotional material for a game.

Rookie customer? That's a new one. So by learning as much as I can about the product before making a personal judgement on it's worth that makes me a "rookie." Yet when you say

Am I wrong to be excited for this? ;)

about Battlefield: Hardline that's totally ok. Especially since the only hands on people have had with the game was exceptionally negative and all they ahve released since are a few trailers compared to the deluge of content we have received about the Order, Yeah ok that makes perfect sense.

The threads I linked to contain trailers and video of live demos with extensive gameplay. All of the gifs are in fact gameplay you are in control of the character. They are not cinematics so I dont understand what you are getting at unless you are arguing that only shooting should be regarded as gameplay in which case I would vehemently disagree. The post was in response to hat amounts completely false claims about the games length, gameplay, difficulty, etc that we know are false because the information we have on the game already disproves them. I don't think such bullshit should be disregarded or ignored that just leaves it to fester and allows people to become ill informed. So, I created a post to address wherein I link to some of the information and gameplay we have available from the game, its soundtrack, it's story and it's mechanics.

He's going all in on this game

This is the game they've been planning and brainstorming for ages and they fully intend to blow people's socks off. I read through these threads and chuckle to myself. You guys just have no idea what you're in for with these Devs. Ready at Dawn is going to be huge and this game will be just the start.

You a PR guy?

Oh you totally caught me. When I adress the bullshit in the thread about a game and link to things that actually support my opinions on the game and then tell the op to choose the game that is best suited to him giving a simple breakdown of the differences between the two that is certainly a PR job nah it couldnt just be that somebody is actually legitimately excited for The Order and sick of reading pages and pages of bullshit about it thats just impossible.
