The Overworld Music in Zelda A Link Between Worlds Rocks!

The remix of the Overworld theme is great. I wish I could say the same about the music in Yoshi's New Island. What do others think?

These are from NWR:
Zelda A Link Between Worlds Link
Yoshi's New Island Link

Now THAT's how you do an overworld, Eji Aonuma! Too bad it just a remix of A Link to the Past's overworld though. :(

I didn't like the dungeon. Pacing was too slow.

I don't like Link's voice either. The official art makes Link look cool, but the voice sounds the same as that fat face from that other Zelda game. Sounds out of place.

Music for the overworld was really good though. Better than I expectated. I didn't like the later portions of the dungeon song though. Doesn't capture the Ocarina of Time vibe that I want, and it's not as good as the song it's based on.

Art style is still Meh.

Seeing that overworld did make me feel happy. I haven't play A Link to the Past in a while so maybe it won't feel old if I try to forget about that game for the rest of the year. Zelda has been lacking a good overworld for YEARS, man!

Wow at that dungeon theme. This demo has me sold on a game that I was initially somewhat nervous and skeptical about. I am now officially excited about this game.

Man, when was the last time a Zelda game had that theme for actual overworld music?
Audio direction sounds really good and the gameplay looks solid. I haven't taken a proper look at the game yet so my concerns might have already been answered but I'm still worried that the overworld wont be significantly different enough to make it feel fresh. The wall walk mechanic thing should help but I'm still worried it'll just be the same location from ALTTP except now there's a giant hole in the ground and a wall on the side.

It's a nice interpretation but it still doesn't really hit the nail on Link to the Past's feel. In that, the brass instrument is lower in pitch, you have these mighty cymbal crashes and some slight sense of a choir. The tempo is more upbeat, too.

It's not to say this is a great job with the Zelda theme in general, it just misses the mark on LttP's characteristics of the overworld. (Granted, I haven't heard any arrangement do this either so it's probably due to creative decision)

This just reminded me that I forgot to watch the Zelda 3DS videos!

Wow can't wait for November! This and Pokemon Y will make me a very happy 3DS owner later in the year.

I don't get why people say this looks bad aesthetically. Looks a million times more appealing to me than the previous DS Zelda games.

Hmm, thinking now that I should simply buy a 3DS as my Nintendo console instead of waiting for the Wii U to pick up.

You really reallllly should. My 3DS XL is probably my favorite gaming console I've owned in a very long time. The library for this thing is only going to get better too!

It sounds and looks great. The brass trumpeting out goosebumps in spades. And that dungeon music. Holy hell. So subdued yet drips with atmosphere.

I hope they add a few more remixed themes along with new tunes. Those Lost Woods...

That Zelda video made me want this game so badly. The short bits that I've seen previously did nothing for me, but this looks like a legit successor to LTTP!!

I'm guessing that in the final game, those large rocks won't be there, nor will Links house be locked.

or they could just keep it locked for the sheer hell of it. That's the plot. Link's lost his house keys during the events of LTTP, and has to revisit all the locations to try and find them.

haha, I love it

Loving the sound design on Zelda. That dungeon remix is marvelous. I love the sound effects, too... this whole game is going to be irresistibly nostalgic for me.

wait, does this game have replaced the number of bombs and arrows for that stamina like bar? because I am quite sure he just depleted that bar when using bombs and arrows instead of a number of items in the inventory
