The Planets of Star Wars: Battlefront

The gunplay is so bad, that most people play a first person shooter from a third person perspective.

The game will be extremly boring, most of you will realize it after a few weeks.

Ive played the beta every day on both PS4 and Xbone. Never got bored of it. And i only played Walker Assault.

Because its bad for you, doesnt apply to everyone.

And like Elzar said this game feels just fresh between all the the super serious hardcore fps market.

It really stands out to me. It maybe to easy for some. But i rather have a easy to pick up and have fun shooter than something like H5 thats way too hardcore and hectic for me.

Stupid question, but does this game have single player campaign, or any kind of bots?

i wasn't following this game at all , but seeing this footage just made feel the need to have it day one, it just looks amazing.

You have missions that can be played Solo or Coop. No traditional campaign.

Yeah but none of the others appear to be outdoors or in large open locations?

I dunno man, a lot of that footage is from outdoor and large looking areas, how big are you expecting the maps to be? It is 20 v 20. It's not Battlefield. I'm thinking conquest maps will be like Bad Company 2 sized.

I'm not looking for all of them to be huge, it just seems like most of the time I see walker footage it seems like they have absolutely nowhere to go before running into something. Like on the Solust footage, they are down in a little ravine, cant see how they could walk more than 100 feet.

They're on rails anyway so you don't have to worry about where they are walking?

Should be on-disc DAY ONE - FREE as part of the game.

Well if you think like that, you could say that about every game nowadays. Including Uncharted 4 which you are apparently looking forward to

And before someone complains about them being on rails, imagine if they were fully player controlled for just a second. Who thinks the players would take them to the rebel generators and destroy them? Who thinks the players would take them to the rebel spawn and camp them all match?

Holy carp I didn't know that. I guess it's a non issue then. Thanks!

The Walker Assault maps are basically like Rush map layouts from Battlefield if you've every played any of that, expect with two walkers on the attack. Really interesting game mode!

Yeh it's really the safest option to go with, people would just ruin the game for others if they had full control of the walkers, they'd also just look janky as fuck getting stuck on rocks and shit.

You could completely control them in Battlefront 2....yeah, they weren't that fun to actually drive around.

What equivalency are you trying to make? A general one for the sake of getting back or a specific one that can be debated? Let me know.

not sure what carrot on a stick and gunplay have to do with each other. you do realize that there is a currency system used to unlock weapons/cards, right? thats the definition of carrot on a stick.

I'm using carrot on stick as general definition of modern FPS design I guess.

For me, I love the fact that there's no attachments.

There's a limited number of weapons.

There's no ADS.

Simplistic design encompassing, gameplay and UI.

Simplistic unlock tree.

Map designed around modes.

I am just saying expecting that all of the DLC should be already on disc and completely free is just not realistic. Just like Uncharted 4 and almost every AAA game will have paying DLC.

I consider myself to be a pretty big Star Wars fan (see avatar and screen name for evidence), but... what is this?

Let's say hypothetically a multiplayer shooter developer created a game with 100 high quality maps. Should those all be on the disc day one for $60, or would it be ok to release them over time for more money?

This is what people mean when they say people feel too entitled with games. How is it everything any developer makes for a game is suppose to be $60 day one? Wouldn't it make more sense that a developer puts what they believe is $60 worth of content on the disc and then the consumer decides whether he/she also believes the content on the disc is worth $60?

Battlefield 1943 is one of my all time favorite game for a lot of these reasons. Very simple, only 3 classes and 3 main weapons, with only 1 game mode the maps were all carefully designed around that 1 mode. Felt like I could focus more on enjoying the gameplay never once thought the lack of options made the gameplay less engaging.

Yeah, why wouldn't they?
Heck, I wouldn't even be mad if they used 1:1 copies from areas on the Battlefront maps, assuming the other game also wants to visit iconic locations. Keep some consistency.

They were around in the OT actually. You filthy prequel fans can settle down.

There was also a Quarren in the videos, pretty sure I saw that species only in The Clone Wars and not in the OT?

Hoping for EP. I DLC, shooting gungans with a battle droid ... a man can dream, right?

The Naboo battle with Droids VS Gungans would be awesome. And Jar Jar as a Hero character. :p

I am guessing your Star Wars knowledge is pretty good? :)

Well, OT knowledge is decent I suppose. If ever admitted to it, which won't! ;)

As far as a Zabrak, none that I can think of. I think that was a wholly prequel race. Are there any in battlefront? That would be kind of odd, even if they are cool looking.

I'd like to see some Ree-Yees and Trandoshan in there, since we have Rodians (which rocks).

I'm waiting for the incoming "bounty hunters" add on pack. I'll pay, I don't care, let me play as 4LOM.
