I just noticed the face buttons are now colored just like on the previous controllers/PSP. Just 1 month to go :p

Isn't that just the light though? They all seem the same color to me. Slightly purple/greenish.

The symbols are now colored like they are on all the PS family products. Triangle/Green, Square/Pink, Circle/Red, X/Blue. Before they were just all white.

I'm not seeing it at all. They still look white (with a bluish tint because of whatever they're reflecting in the picture).

SCEJ has an incredibly difficult time launching gamer oriented IPs (okay, they have a difficult time doing anything), and something about the game reminds me of Folklore for some reason. You don't want to know how Folklore sold.

I hope Gravity sell better than that, it's one of the few japanese game that actually look like next gen portable games. in a flood of way too many psp asset game for vita launch, Gravity surely stand out even if it's just for the graphic.

Checked out the image on my LCD instead and it's harder to see if it actually changed or not. Seem to be a little bit noticeable on my CRT. Hopefully just the monitor and not my eyes betraying me :(

Would love to see this one get a US release but I'm certainly not holding my breath. So is that case shown in the video the one that's coming with the early adopter bundles in the US? If so, I'd be ok with it.

Tales of Innocence was recently trademarked in the US by Scamco. I doubt they plan on localizing a DS game. ;)

As for the case, the one in the 8 minute video isn't the one included in the early bird bundle. The early bird case is a slip on one that reminds me of the PSP launch bundle case.

why the fuck isn't there airplay with this system? when it's obvious it will be in a future version

I had to search up what AirPlay was, and read it's an Apple designed connection protocol to Apple created devices. Gee wizz, I wonder why Sony wouldn't want to include that in one of their products...

I don't know what the technical term is so I just used the term with apple products, calm down. The later versions of the PSP can play be hooked up and played on a big screen TV, i'm told this can't be done with the Vita, which would be bullshit if true

Oh, you meant TV-out? Okay, that's a tonne more reasonable than expecting Sony to include some Apple software that only works with devices Apple makes.

Here's a new Lord of Apocalypse trailer, and some more screenshots.

this actually look pretty cool. nice music and art, somehow I'm getting Nier vibe from this. rather rough in certain parts but looks like it could be really good.

is this like God Eater? mission based hunting game with story? Gaf seems to hate this game based on the previous LoA game, but this trailer looks good to me.

I think airplay is that thing like Wii-U where it allow you to display photo etc on your tv without cables, in Ipod case, you can stream media to apple tv, av receiver, ipod dock etc. well, I won't be surprised if Vita can do that in conjunction with PS3 through firmware update

Sony does this with their Android tablets to allow you to "push" content from one end to the other. So I can see that happening eventually.

Sorry I came out as an ass, Ken! I had never heard of that before, and found out it was some Apple made thing, and thus was a bit perplexed as to why someone would think Sony should adopt a service that benefits the competition's products.

I played the demo for the first game, and if very much felt like a low budget shameless MH ripoff. I never played God Eater, so I can't comment on that.

well that's the first game, is there any preview or impression for this one?

God Eater also has the same exact structure as MonHun, but it differentiate it self with faster gameplay and customization where you can make and program your bullet properties etc. I think it's a fun game although it's not going to convert any monhun fan to GE. very different kind of game.

No issue, I used the term "airplay" because I thought it was the industry term for that feature, I didn't realize it was an Apple name

That Lord of Apocalypse trailer is so incredibly badass. Holy shit at that how that logo comes in. It's really too bad the actual gameplay looks like MH.

I also noticed it during the first trailer, whoever's editing these trailers together knows how to do their job like a boss. It's completely seamless.

anyway, looks like Airplay is all handled by software and won't need special hardware refinement in future Vita, so there's possibility of Sony adding this in future firmware although it's probably limited communicating to only PS3

I wish people stop saying this to any game with MH mission structure. not saying LoA gameplay is different since I haven't played it, but I think just because it follow MH game/mission structure, it's a bit unfair to call the gameplay the same.

sometime it got so bad that I know my friend who call any game with 4 player co-op a MH clone. he even call Peace Walker a MH clone, sure it's inspired by MH, there's no denying that, but to say PeaceWalker gameplay is 'just like MH' is a bit too much imo.

Isn't the Deadly Premonition guy (Swery?) directing Lord of Apocalypse? I thought I remembered Shane saying this on an 8-4 Pod recently.
Access Games are making it, but they also made Lord of Arcana and that was pretty poopy.

Apocalypse looks a lot better though.
I would still exercise extreme caution. Whatever reasons you had for liking Deadly Premonition were not present in any form in Arcana and Apocalypse is looking to be a bigger budget version of that title.

I said before I will not get Vita because of the price( not that I don't have the money..it's just a rule that I have with handhelds)..but hell, there are so much games I really want,Gravity Daze look like it can be Folklore of Vita , Malicious is looking absolutely fantastic. ..Lord Of Apocalypse, Hot Shots Golf 6,Ridge Racer....if anything happened I will blame Takao and this thread and my weakness.

and colored face buttons on Vita will be really ugly anyway.

Yeah, I'm not hyped but it does look cool.

God Eater 2 is where it's at.

I'm sure it's not his screen but his mind/brain. :P

as soon as he said it's colored, I start seeing it in color too, I think my mind convinced me that tiny pic actually have color or something. lol

why can't God Eater 2 be a multiplatform PSP/Vita title like LoA?

btw, anyone know if LoA psp version can play multiplayer together with Vita version?

Apparently, it can't.

I don't know if that is just local adhoc or adhoc via adhoc party app too.

We haven't even seen any footage from the Vita version of Malicious, haha.

Will Vita will have true integrated cloud-based experiences, like referenced here?

Will Vita revolutionize sports games?

I wanna know.

Ruin says "yes". As does Modnation Racers: Road Trip, and LittleBigPlanet which are compatible with PS3 DLC, and content.

I really hope Sony are encouraging non-game apps on the Vita. A good comic or E-book reader would be great on this thing.

Non-game apps are being pushed for Suite.

Because it's being published by Scamco Bandumb. Just look at their PSP lineup next year. It's stupid, lol.

I guess that'd be the case. basically, Vita version and PSP version is 2 different game and be treated differently.

the reason why GE is not for both is probably because they don't want to split their user base.

the intention is there, Ruin, LBP, Modnation all have some kind of content sharing, and Kojima already said all his future game will have transfaring, basically save data compatibility so you can continue your progress from home console to Vita and vice versa.

the challenge for this is whether consumer is willing to buy 2 version of the game.

I think what will happen most is that the portable game will be different or have exclusive feature the console version don't have, but can share progress/content in some mode or something.

Of course, good luck with that once the PS4 comes out. Remember, there were a handful of PSP games near its launch that would connect with their PS2 counterparts (basically only sports games) via a USB cable.

It all depends on when the PS4 is coming out, but I cant' see it coming out later than 2014. So basically a 2-3 year window of this, IMHO.

I just wanted to chime in with my 2 cents and say this list is of epic proportions, not only in length, but quality content as well.

I am very happy to see everyone rallying up for the Playstation Vita, the only game I can recognize beyond NG:S is Persona 4, which I have been dying to play, guess I'll have to wait for the N-A release.

Super Monkeys and Balls, again? x_X

Everything else is either sequels or a whole new franchise, this should be exciting, I can't wait to get my hands on the little joybox!

Anyone know if this system will have video-out?

:) Thanks for the pictures and info Nirolak!

Why would Sony wants the VITA to cannibalize their Ipad like devices?
Because they want the VITA to remain competitive against devices like the iPad? They'd be stupid to waste that potential of having a very successful eReader platform to protect the marketshare of a device with a fraction of the userbase.

Beam said:

because Vita is also a media device and it'd be nice if it can play/read any kind of media, whether it's video, music, or document.

I don't expect Vita to be productivity device that can write email or excel so it's not like Vita is in direct competition with tablet, also, the screen size is smaller than tablet, so table really shouldn't worry about Vita even if Vita can read ebook and pdf.

Serious question, why couldn't Vita be a tablet like device? It certainly not lacking in the hardware department. With the right software, there isn't anything an IPad could do that Vita couldn't do.

true, but I just never felt like I ever want or expect that from Vita. if they add those function in the future, then it's great, but for now, I just hope they focus on the more important feature for games etc

More like iPod Touch. iPad's size and screen real estate makes certain tasks much easier.

Netflix and Slingplayer would be good. I assume Netflix is a lock.

Netflix is everywhere, it will come to Vita.

About Tales of Innocence R, remember that Namco renewed the trademark in the West, and they even talked about bringing it here, in a way or another...and considering Namco has started bringing back Tales of again...

There's no way the PS4 isn't being designed with this connectivity in mind. If we're REALLY lucky the Vita has also been designed with the PS4 in mind.

Yeah, it will be possible, I'm sure, just like the PS3-PSP could connect. It's just it never happened much, because once again, the games were a generation apart, rather than being within spitting distance.

IMHO, the best case scenario is the Vita ending up like the Wii U controller

I wonder if that won't end up being a limitation of the Vita hardware tech? WLAN has range as an advantage, but connection quality is likely an issue against the Wii U tech, unless they add it to Vita at a later date... when they add the TV out? :-p

Where Vita/PS3 or Vita/PS4 games are designed with heterogenous output on Vita vs your TV screen, the Vita itself should probably run its own client, and not stream output from the PS3/PS4 (requiring fancier wireless tech). Input from Vita to PS3/PS4 can be managed fine with bluetooth.

If a game or experience is tolerant of a little lag though, I guess you could stream off the console.
