I'm aware of this. My friends are simply dumdums.

Vinterbird said:During HL2 they went to E3 to demo the game, not announce it. But yeah, this year is DOTA2. Which they are going to push hard, and especially hard in Europe.
Next year will either be CS2 or Ep3/HL3. Perhaps with a side-dish of Portal 2 expansion.
It's the first thing I saw over the course of 2 games that wasn't inside. I didn't care if I was shooting a portal at the fucking moon if it meant escape from Aperture's labs.Feep said:I'm actually curious. Myself and several others have mentioned that as soon as they saw the moon, they instinctively shot a portal at it, even if they didn't think it would actually work.
How many people did this happen for? And what kind of crazy brainwashing did they use to make us do that?

JaseC said:I can see Episode Three being bundled with Counter-Strike 2 (I would lose my shit). A Portal 2 expansion is unlikely, though, as if Valve were to create more SP content it would be DLC and offered for free on Steamworks platforms.

In fact the "Pneumatic Diversity Vent" was nowhere to be seen.

I saw the moon come out, and it took a second for me to realize the enormity of what was in front of me.Feep said:I'm actually curious. It was obvious it would work. Cave Johnson mentioned that the 'portal surface' goo was made from moon rocks and your view is automatically aimed at the moon just as a tear in the roof brings it into view.Feep said:I'm actually curious. I'm not saying it wasn't, it's just that I FIRED a Portal before any logical processes had occurred. Just...immediately.Uchip said:the camera locks on to the moon view so it was fairly obvious
I know what you mean. Didn't even look to see what portal I had to use, just shot at the moon and it worked. I didn't know it would work but I didn't know what else to do.Feep said:I'm not saying it wasn't, it's just that I FIRED a Portal before any logical processes had occurred. Just...immediately.
Kritz said:Question:
Did anyone else ever feel sorry for Wheatley after his "I'm sorry" speech? He, like GLADOS, was not designed to be and was not inherently an evil AI. It's just the lust for testing and science corrupted him while connected to the Aperture Science mainframe thing. I suspect he will play another role in a later Valve game.
Oh, actually. Did anyone get a massive Halo 1 vibe from his ending scene? I was half expecting 343 to appear and float by or something. They also did the same "look up, down, at this thing" bollocks Bungie do each game. Was weird.
Why you gotta be like that bro!EatChildren said:DOTA2 wont make the end of the year. I refuse to believe it. Even Portal 2 fell to Valve Time. It's unavoidable. It will consume DOTA2 like it consumes every Valve project.
But I do hope you're right. If Valve have any kind of presence at E3 I think they'll be pushing DOTA2 above all. After all, Portal 2 is out and that is their next big game.
I dont really know what Valve's E3 history is though. Dont they often let E3 go by without really revealing or announcing anything?
Vinterbird said:We've yet to see Valve do big substantial expansion like DLC. So far they've done smaller stuff like the general maintaneance of TF2 and the episodes. And Valve has said there will be new game content DLC for Portal 2, so the grand question is what Valve will take money for, and what it won't in terms of this game.
I think for me it was because the moon is bright and the game logic says bright surfaces mean you can shoot portals at them, so I automatically shot at it.Feep said:I'm not saying it wasn't, it's just that I FIRED a Portal before any logical processes had occurred. Just...immediately.

Makes perfect sense to me, I shot instinctively (probably due to all of this training). The ending was fucking awesome. No doubt about it.Spire said:You're pointed straight at it, you're being pressured to do something immediately, and the entire game has been training you to know that white surfaces are portal-friendly. It's also planted in your head earlier in the game when Cave mentions that the white gel is made from moon rocks.
The Antialiasing just looks DAMN GOOD in this game.(._.) said:http://cloud.steampowered.com/ugc/560906397059223418/9260A62B32D97F4CCD7178F98FED99EAD392D55D/
Portal 2 still looks great even if it isn't at the level Half Life 2 was in the graphics department (at launch)
Yeah, agreed. Johnson talking about lemonade was one of the few times I laughed.jaundicejuice said:I think my favorite lines from the game are terminally ill, crazy Cave Johnson talking about "when life hands you lemons, don't make lemonade, burn their damned house down with the lemons!" and potato GlaDOS is enthusiastically cheering along his rant.

We had a bunch of levels that used crusher panels in ways that made the test chambers more dangerous. After showing some of these levels in press demos, we got feedback that viewers were getting the impression that Portal 2 was going to be too difficult, since players would have to time events such as running or falling through a portal while avoiding getting hit by a deadly crusher. We ultimately decided to save these crushers for the escape, when Wheatly tries to hold you off.
hopefully we'll see them return in a more challenging form of perhaps bonus puzzlesSax Russel said:They're not in co-op. One of the dev commentary bubbles near the end mentions these though.
