yeah, i'm serious. he's got that "hey, I'm going to glue some facial hair on me to look badass look" because in reality he's just a goofy dude. ray stevenson just looks gruff IRL so it's easier to believe. thomas jane had it a bit but he still looked the part. they should have let jon hamm be the punisher. dude would rock it. or tom hardy. he just never looks naturally menacing, he's always gotta grow some dumb goatee thing or rub his face a lot.

I dunno, I look at him in this and I see someone who looks pretty menacing and doesn't seem like he's all there behind those eyes
I'm pretty sure he does that so he doesn't have to raise his head. He's already thinking about shooting the next guy on the ground.

If Bernthal's graveyard monologue and the diner scene from DD S2 won't convince people, I can't help but feel nothing will.
If that's what you see, that's what you see. Jane looked like a male model to me, but I really enjoyed Ray Stephonson's as Punisher.
Bernthal looks unhinged and intense to me. I like it.

Trailer had some hints for Punisher Max fans for sure, I think this will be great or at least Bernthal will give us that good ass Ennis punisher. He has the look minus the doofy jarhead haircut.

No Daredevil season 2. I watched it like three times and I remember it being revealed that he and his family were in the park while a sting was being operated on the low and then the cops came in without clearing the park and motherfuckers started shooting.
Punisher Max 1-4...Ennis run is one of my favorites. Looking forward to this.

I was actually disappointed when I heard he was cast because I prefer 42D chess Punisher in the comics.

Mixed feelings. I was a big reader of Punisher comics when I was younger but as an adult now, I can see that he was a Rambo of sorts. Soldier with ptsd revenge on fridged family. Considering the current state of affairs in the world right now and the whole push from extreme right wing people, I'm not quite sure how to feel, because the trailer reads like an NRA endorsement banner and the music too gives one of those red states gun loving YouTube videos you often see these days.
Not to deflate the hype because I'm sure it's probably a good show, I just hope it's done with enough tact and just isn't some love letter the machismo military dudes who thinks serving the country is a licence to play cod in real life. Real conflicts are complex both at individual level and in the bigger picture.

I think this could potentially be the best Netflix Marvel series.
So, not the Punisher then? I mean, you don't have to have the gun porn, but the rest is sort of inherent to the little I know of the character I thought.
