Go Ristar, your oh-so close to the 100 sales margin!

Looking at the list, not many newgames seem to catch on all that well - hovering around the 30 sale mark, and essentially dying off afterwards. I wonder if it's the same people each time?

Also - Dragon's Curse did exceptionally well, yet not Wonderboy? Maybe it'll go over better when it hits Europe, since Wonderboy was more of a Master System property, and Monster World was on both the MS and MD.

April 2007 NeoGAF Sales Results

Good month overall, sales were up 16% from last month which ends the declining sales trend that has happened since December. Whether that's due new Wii users, participation rate, or the new games available, is anyone's guess, could be a combination of the three. I'd say compared to March though, there were a lot more hot titles that came out in April.

+ Fun Fact: March's Top Seller was Gunstar Heroes, the first time a game had placed at the top slot twice (that might say something about March's VC releases). Gunstar had sold 28 units in March, and scored a comparatively similar 21 units for the month of April. However, this month it drops to 6th place.

Anyay, some cool games came out with some impressive sales. I still don't have photoshop installed in my new comp, so here's the sales data in text form instead of a pretty graph:

Top 10 Sales Overall (April 1-30)
Rank. Title / System. Sales (Life To Date). Sales (Month)

1. Star Fox 64 / N64. 78. 78
2. Punch-Out!! / NES. 49. 46
3. Dragon's Curse / TGX. 39. 38
4. Bonk's Revenge / TGX. 28. 28
5. Gunstar Heroes / GEN. 345. 21
6. Super Mario World / SNES. 154. 20
7. Super Mario Bros. / NES. 242. 19
8. Kirby's Adventure / NES. 80. 18
9. The Legend Of Zelda: LTTP / SNES. 160. 16
10. Beyond Oasis / GEN. 29. 15

Hopefully I'll be able to find time later to make a breakdown of individual systems like I had in the past, and raises/losses in chart positions, but stuff on my end is pretty crazy ATM. For now I'll just do NES:

Rank / Last Month's Rank (Raise/Loss of Position)/ Title / Life-To-Date

1. (NEW) Punch-Out / 49
2. (2) Super Mario Bros. / 242
3. (3) Kirby's Adventure / 80
4. (1-) Kid Icarus / 105
5. (9+) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles / 11

I'm pretty sure I haven't posted since December, but have added a bit to my US Wii since then:

Super Castlevania IV
R-Type
Donkey Kong Country
Space Harrier II
Super Mario World
Zelda: LttP

and as of yesterday:

Star Fox 64

There's way more games I want than I can afford! But that's better than the early days of VC.
