"The Room" - tonight on Adult Swim

Saw this for the first time last Saturday at the monthly LA screening. Word has clearly spread because about a thousand people showed up instead of the usual hundred or so. Truly the worst movie I've ever seen, even including Manos. Had a great time. Glad to see it's getting such wide exposure now.

If you can manage to go to a theatre screening, do it!
 
the real genius is in how there's all these disparate characters and storylines and they're all completely irrelevant. it's working on an almost Lynchian level
 
I'm watching this right now and I don't get it. Forty minutes in, it's just a run-of-the-mill '80s softcore storyline porn flick. I mean, it's bad, but it's porno acting bad, not hilarious bad.

Then again, I'm sober.

P.S. I do love how so far none of the scenes have been related.
 
this is so astoundingly bad that i can barely even sit through it. seriously, why? and that fucking shitty music...
 
This movie is amazing. I'm pissed that I missed it on the air. If you're cool enough to find this movie funny also try Troll 2, Shark Attack 3: Megalodon, Silent Night Deadly Night 2, Basket Case, Death Bed: The Bed That Eats, Shit the list goes on and on. Those are just the choice nugs though. <~ Also money if you get that reference.
 
This F***ing stupid movie had my girlfriend and I staying up way too late. It was so terribly bad, we just couldn't turn off the TV.

The Adult Swim presentation of this for April Fools Day was awesome. I was truly baffled and fooled at first. I couldn't imagine how this got on my TV. I even went to TVGuide.com and the Adult Swim website to find out what the hell was going on, to no avail.

I especially loved Adult Swim's editing of those super-awkward sex scenes, where they would progressively make the little black boxes bigger and bigger and bigger until they covered all but a tiny sliver of the background of the scene. Hilarious, but also very welcome, considering the terrible-looking cast. We don't need to see any of these people naked. Ever.
 
What the hell was up with that tuxedo football scene. It came out of nowhere and made no sence. The flower shop scene was so damn funny. "Hello doggie." :lol :lol :lol This movie is so bad that I couldn't stop laughing. Oh, and Tommy Wiseau is the worst actor, director, and writer ever. Throughout the movie I kept thinking to myself there is no way this guy was casted as the lead role unless he wrote and directed this mess.

Wtf am i watching? I'm sitting here with my iPod touch and see a movie start and was like "first april fools joke!" nice one AS. Movie sucks so bad so far, gonna change it as i can't take anymore cheeeeeeese. :lol
 
Ah... I get it... the joke is that they're reusing the same April Fool's Day prank they did last year...

However, The Room is my favorite bad movie. Even more than Troll 2.
 
Surprised they're showing it again this year. I'm actually seeing it in a couple of weeks at a midnight showing... Tommy Wiseau himself is gonna be there. :lol
