The 'Scribblenauts Avatars' Thread-The artists have left the building

I keep wondering if all the artists are freaked out about my Avatar. :lol I could change it to AC2 Ezio if that would make it a tad easier? :D

Here is Rhythm Heaven Girl for A Link to the Snitch. This was my first attempt so it's not very good; I'll understand if you don't want to use it. If anyone wants to polish it up go right ahead. I'd give you my PSD but I didn't organize it whatsoever. :lol

It looks very nice, only thing I'd change is mirror the nose and erase those markings around her! Lovely.

I ran it through Vector Magic to smooth things out. I didn't want to waste any time editing it too much though, just wanted to see how Vector Magic would handle it hehe.

Faith {For 3roam}

SO IF YOU REQUESTED AN AVATAR AND HAVENT CLAIMED IT YET, TRY TO DO SO PLEASE. SOME AVATARS ARE NOW UP FOR GRABS FOR ANYONE (THE ONES THAT DONT HAVE THE NAME OF THE REQUESTER). I WILL BE UPDATING AS PEOPLE CLAIM OR DONT CLAIM. IF YOU CLAIM YOUR AVATAR, MAKE A POST ABOUT IT TO ALERT ME. THIS WILL BE ON EVERY NEW PAGE.

AVATAR GET! :)

Thankyou for making it, Harbadakus! :)

Also how can I make it look like everone elses? I have linked to it but thats all, it looks bad at the moment. Im not used to dealin with avatars and imagehosts. If anyone can tell me what to do it would be a great help, thanks.

It needs to be 90x120 max, and since it was thinner, the forum automatically sizes it to be over the max size (so you have your avatar permanently removed currently). Use this instead:

Well, I tried making my Judith request using Divvy's video and realized the true talent going into to these. Talent I do not have. How do you draw such clean lines, Divvy! :lol

Guess it's back to waitin' for the real artists to do it.

Just in case anyone here has stopped following the preview/hype Scribblenauts thread, Warner Brothers just confirmed the release date for September 15th (AND there are three new videos and a bunch of neat screenshots on a French site linked from the thread). So, everyone requesting avatars had better have preordered. :D

Cool. That's right before my birthday. I wish more games would launch in August/September. Usually I can snag a couple of games in the Fall and have to wait on the rest.

Edit: I just googled that one above me (sorry didn't know who it was). Looks great.

Oh God, what's wrong with Jon Stewart's head.
The shit that comes out of it? Great work, Divvy. And I love Brook. I can't get over how funny it is when a character with non-standard eyes gets scribbled. And I'm glad I get to make myself laugh at that with my every post.

I don't mean to be critical because people making these obviously have a lot of skill and have put a lot of hard work into it, but I think that the best ones are the ones that actually look like they could be in the game. Some of them are too detailed or the shapes are too weird. They just look like cartoony chibi versions instead of passing for real Scribblenauts characters.

I think you're right. In my case I start drawing with the intention to keep it as simple as possible, but I often overdo in the opposite direction... I'll try to go back to simpler characters.

It's often the pose that does this.

Eh, I don't mind the detail. They look awesome.

Here's ..pakbeka.. Phanto and Key. Though I thought it was a bit boring by itself, so I added Luigi to it. Hope you don't mind.

How do you guys make these? is there a template, a filter or anything we can use as a reference?

So nobody has posted a tutorial yet? I'm sure with a tutorial up, more artists can fill requests.
Divvy and I have posted some vids on how we did ours. Not at my comp now so I can't link. But if you go to YouTube and search for Kyle Hyde scribbletar you should find it.

Awesome video. What do you do for a living?

Ah I'm a traditional animator.

Is Divvy an official artist for 5th Cell or just a freelancer? Because every one he makes amazes even more than the last.

No, I have nothing to do with 5th Cell, just doing this for fun.

Ah I see your point. I do tend to get carried away with detail sometimes. I'll probably try to do simpler ones, but I'll still do some really detailed ones for fun sometimes. I'm doing a couple of Samus' for fun right now so I'll do some of them complex and some simple.

Well as an animator, I love doing poses rather than have them standing still.
