What simpsons episodes are like older ones?

I know theres episodes that share similar plots, but im drawing a blank on episode names.
Season 25's "Steal This Episode" is basically a modern take on Season 2's "Homer Vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment".

"Steal..." is actually a pretty good episode.

It's a great episode. I would argue that it's easily Top 5 of the HD era along with Holidays of Future Passed, Halloween of Horror, The Book Job and well... coming up with a 5th episode is kind of a tricky. It'll rotate between a half-dozen episodes depending on the day you ask me.

IDK why it took me so long but I have finally started going to Simpsons World and just let it play in the background as I do work. Love it.

I'm always wonder that Homer's Phobia is an episode from season 8. The whole plot and execution seems more like season 12 or something.

It's still a Classic era episode but I can see where you're coming from with this because I agree with you. This was Ron Hauge's first writing credit on the show as he joined the team after writing a number of episodes of Ren & Stimpy. His episodes were almost always wacky and he certainly jived more with Mike Scully's philosophy than Oakley & Weinstein. Adhering to established characterization consistency is most definitely not his strong suit.

Posted it up on Reddit, but I noticed in Life on the Fast Lane, the moon looks like a bowling ball.

Oh yeah, I noticed this when I was a kid.

This was actually the first episode of Simpsons I remember watching from when I was five or so, because I thought Homer was complaining that Marge never made him peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch. (Probably because he spends the scene talking about them and then the next one he's eating a sandwich with lettuce on it. The marital troubles thing flew over my head obviously) Also I thought his name was Homeward.

I was thinking of getting Homer's birthmark from Homer the Great tattooed onto my lower back (probably a little smaller than in the episode, where it's oddly large):

How bad an idea do you think this is? Consider: I've not got the tattoo yet and would appreciate honesty now rather than later.

Personally, I could never really get the appeal of getting a tattoo that no-one, including yourself, can really see.

But whatever rocks your boat, mate.

That's actually part of the appeal for me - no employers seeing visible tattoos or strangers on the street to grab my arm for a closer look.

So as to not betray the premise of the thread:

Boss Doggie

all my loli wolf companions are so moe
So I was browsing the channel when came into a simpsons ep about Marge trying to "oversee" Bart unless he confesses about a construction equipment, and how Ned's dog likes Homer more.

While it's no classic level I must say it was a pretty well written episode. What's the name of the ep?

That would be Peeping Mom from Season 26. That whole 'FIE' resolution bit at the end came off rather weak to me.

Which episode is it where Marge repeats instructions (or something)? Bart asks why she repeated it, and Marge says that it helps them remember better.

It's not a lot to go on, but it's from seasons 4-8, I know that.

I want to say "Lemon of Troy" (EDIT: Which is S6 E24)

Marge wants Bart to take pride in Springfield and the repeated line is "a part of us all"?

Yeess! This has been bothering me for awhile now, but since I couldn't remember the actual lines it was impossible to look up.

'This town is a part of us all!"

I was watching "Marge on the Lam" last night and it occurred to me that even in Homer's fantasy/delusion, how extremely ill-attended his idea of the ballet is.

Just one of those random things that stuck out to me and made me laugh for no reason despite seeing the episode a million times.
