Don't mean to bump but I have to say Meier that my wife and I always say how if we could just one couple to be friends with it would be Joel and his wife. I have a man crush on the dude. Seriously one of the funniest people around.
Haha, well said.

I thought I recognized that guy, then Google revealed to me he WAS on Almost Live! Glad to see at least one from the cast has done something else besides local stand up comedy.

The Soup is awesome. Joel is awesome, specially funny the britney spears womanizer parody that had me rolling on the floor.

Joel McHale got his start on a local sketch comedy show in Seattle in the mid to late 90s called Almost Live. It's great to see him doing as well as he is with The Soup.

Speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed Walkerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

I'm suddenly more excited about this than anything else happening at E3. Joel is my hero. Who will band together with me to form the New High-Fivin' White Guys at the Ubisoft press conference to give Joel a proper welcome.

What the fuck is wrong with people in this thread. Seriously. That's fucked up. You prefer Chelsea Lately over the Soup? REALLY? Youdon't watch E! because of the "absolutely horrendous" shows. REALLY? Do you see the problem here? Do you see? What the fuck.
i said that i started watching the soup, and since i started watching the soup i also started catching chelsea lately. i didnt say i prefered CL or the soup, one of them is a daily and one is a weekly show. i love hearing people making fun of celebrities which is what both shows do, so its good stuff. the absolutely horrendous shows i was referring to were things like girls next door, kardashians, candy girls, all that garbage. the soup and chelsea are the some of the only shows on the network worth watching. thanks for being a dick though!

"It's Lindsay."
Never ceases to make me laugh when they say her name in that creepy deep voice :lol

I saw Joel on Saturday night (in NY) and he was fucking awesome. I sat next to THE drunk guy who screamed " CHICKEN TETRAZZINI!" or "That's the problem..." over and over, and it didn't even ruin it.

I'd definitely recommend seeing him live, he's really animated and funny as hell. Lots of The Soup references and stories and even original stuff.

That sounds awesome! Man I wish he would perform somewhere close here... :(

Given the recent news about Community, I felt compelled to bump this old thread because Joel and co have been KILLING IT this season. "Uncomfortable Tweets from a 16-year old Girl News" aka the Courtney Stodden tweet reading series is probably the best recurring bit they've had in years. I could literally watch these segments all day... DAT LAUGH!

BOOOOOO

Talk about Gold Rush Alaska more!!!

The Soup bits are always terrible. The real meat is in the commentary.

Also, the intro for Spanish Soap Operas.

Are You SERIOUS?

I dont think its underrated at all. Everybody I know watches it. Sometimes my roommate and I say "Oh here go hell come!" when something's about to go down and everybody around knows exactly what we're talking about.

I say that ALL THE TIME.

My favorite bits are always the "Gay Shows: Alaska Edition" I just die laughing at how clueless some of those people are with the phrases they use.

I love that laugh.

I'm kind of amazed that Courtney and Doug have not gotten more national attention.

Glory Hole! Seriously, this season has been the best in years. Gotta love CLIPPOS MAGNIFICOS! Come on, there is no way you don't like the Stodden tweet bits! They are incredible. The Walking Dead parody/homage video was fairly underwhelming as are quite a few of the non-show bits but Stodden is a gold mine.

I would imagine Community has brought in more viewers than it had in the past. I'm really glad Joel stuck with The Soup -- I thought for sure he'd have bailed by now due to Community and the fact he's had a number of movies in recent years.

Joel Mchale is close to the people on Community, despite sometimes I get the feeling his interest in the show has kinda waned... he doesn't seem as enthused giving interviews about the show and his performances seem kinda phoned in

I love it that he pisses off a lot of E! personalities. Like this bit when Joel was on Conan and complained he couldn't really talk about the Kardashian sex tape anymore:

“I bring up the thing that made Kim famous, which is the sex tape with Ray J. Kim’s mom would call E! much like an old lady neighbour going like, ‘Your son’s baseball landed in my window again’, and they don’t like it when we bring it up.”

Bwahaha

They never stream the full episode. Unfortunately you have to resort to other means of watching it if you don't have a DVR or the DVR missed it.

I think this has been a lousy season, actually. Not only have the jokes been bad, but the show used to seem to revel in bottom of the barrel TV. It was ABOUT finding and making fun of crappy TV shows. Now it's mostly celebrity walk-ons and clips from the same shows over and over (although, I can never get enough Greg Kelly!). I wouldn't watch it anymore if my fiance didn't regularly DVR it, and even she's close to giving up.

And as an aside, is McHale's horrible taste in clothes a parody or is he for real with some of those shiny jackets? Dude, you're 40. That stuff looks douchey on a 25 year old, never mind a 40 yo.

It's not that great anymore, I agree. I chalked it up to not very much interesting tv these days to make fun of... but I dunno.

The fake crew laughter kills this show.
No it doesn't.

Also, I just watched last nights episode. I wish they'd actually memorized the scripts so it could feel more like Community instead of a bunch of guest stars coming on a show and doing a bit. It's not as funny when the people are saying their lines while staring slightly to the left or right of the camera.

Also, does The Soup Mobile App have full episodes or is it just clips?
