Ah, so his video series actually meant "
until we win" or maybe "
until we win".
Sorry, but I agree with the previous poster. I also assumed that he played through those fair and square without using cheats. If save states are allowed, you are going to win every single game, especially those NES classics. There is no challenge anymore. It's just plain cheating. I mean why stop at save states? If those are allowed, just use a memory-hack to grant infinite lives/health. Save states are that and even more, because infinite lives/health means you can probably still die from falling or fail in some other way.
For example Zelda II. I went to the last palace as a kid on original NES and just couldn't beat shadow link. It took a while to get there, lost some health on the way, which also added to the difficulty. But by using save states, this game would be a total joke. You may even save-state on every single hit, so the bosses will also be just a joke.
Hell, I would even say using save states in any game makes it a total joke. Dark Souls? No more penalties, no more challenges. Last level on SMG2? Would be a plain joke.
Using cheats for a review or stuff like that, fine. But if you cheat in a video series HOW TO BEAT SUCH GAMES, then you are just a total loser, especially if you behave as if you beat those games fair and square. I mean it's like people that use trophy hacks. It's like hacking an arcade to show some highscore that you didn't achieve. Embarrassing.
