all thats happening is

-GI is opening its online portion along with more info (,abye pics and a video) on Red Steel
-NOM comes out, no Rev info guarenteed, but they are full of suprises.
-NP is coming out next week or sooner with a big announcement.

This doesn't take me any closer to playing those other games, though. I guess it's hard to work up escape velocity once you've fallen into the gravity well of a particular gaming habit (portable gaming in my case). Tonight's not going to help, that's for certain -- Nintendo is conducting a media event which, I'm told, will focus entirely on DS games.

Of course, that begs the question: what DS games can it focus on? Brain Age is out tomorrow, and this is a more E3-oriented event. That leaves New Super Mario Bros., Magnetica, Big Brain Academy and Sudoku Gridmaster, which is a pretty pitiful showing for an event like this. Which leaves the possibility of... new games. Legendary Stafy 4 is, erm, pretty much guaranteed to be out of the running. Phantom Hourglass is a good bet. Maybe Wario Thief? Nintencats? Me, I'm going to shake my tiny fists in anger is there's no Metroid Dredd/Dread/Dred. I know I wasn't hallucinating that pre-E3 2005 release list, dammit, and now that Hunters is they're free to offer us up a real Metroid sequel. Dammit. DAMN DAMMITY DAMN DREDD

Edit: Double-dammity, nothing Metroid at all. However, there were some pretty cool surprises that I'm not allowed to talk about until a very long time from now. Although come to think of it I never actually signed the NDA... but since I don't want to be banned from all future Nintendo events, I think I'll keep the revelations under my hat until the proper time.

What are the chances that Madden 2007 will be on Revolution ... yes Revolution not Gamecube ... ? :D
AS high as the chances of EA actually making the game fully compatabile with the revmote and not the shell.

Who's saying something besides RS will be shown?

I noticed a few people list the 20th as a NDA expiration date. Which in turn has led to rabid speculation; will we see this, will they show that. People have been assuming we'll see products other than Red Steel for weeks now. Dig up the the old GI + REV = RS thread.

Hell, I'm just as starved for Revolution info as you guys and I'd gladly eat a brick if Nintendo or some 3rd party lifted their curtains today. I highly doubt it though, but it's certainly possible, which is why I fear putting my account on the line. :D

why are people expecting Metroid Dread? Nintendo has milked the franchise quite a lot latley, and Metroid Prime 3 is coming. I don't expect anything about this game until next year or so.

I still say the NP game is Castlevania for Revolution. The preview for the next issue said it was the biggest scoop of the year so far. They then said a follow up to a DS game and a whip-smart adventure. But think about it, they never said it was a DS game, just a follow up to a DS game. And would first screens and info on a new DS CV really be considered the biggest scoop of the year? Probably not. I'm think its a Castlevania game thats a follow up to the DS game that is for the Revolution.

It makes sense to try out Castlevania on a Nintendo console again. CoD bombed hard on xbox and PS2 for what I know. Then again the quality of that game is not like the handhelds.

that would be SO AWESOME... pure speculation, but very sweet and somewhat plausible. (FPS castelvania would be almost as awesome as FPS metroid IMO, especially with the revmote)

Why does Jeremy say he can't say anything about the conference for "a very long time from now". He can't be talking about E3. That is just a few weeks away. Why would Nintendo keep big DS news secret past E3?

Metroid Dread is slated for a release in 2006 according to Gaybrush.

What about the Nintendogs Dalmatian edition? The game was rated by the USK yesterday.

very long time = E3 I assume.

But it seems stupid to keep everything under wraps until the e3. I mean if they show for the first time (lets say) 5 titles of which one is a major Nintendo franchise who will care about the other 4 games?

Not much info yet. Propably a special Edition like the US-Best Friends one. Contains propably these races (dunno the english names :x):

- Deutscher Schäferhund
- Golden Retriever
- Beagle
- Yorkshire Terrier

foreign language info: (no idea what it is actually :])

From daily game (don't know the site or anything about their credibility) supposedly an interview with an unidentified dev with some big publishing house... a couple of quotes...

"What Nintendo's doing with their controller is as important as the analog stick or mouse were. I love what I've played with so far....."......----->

.....If the first-gen stuff is this fun, I can't wait to see what else people come up with. If we're looking at the equivalent right now on the Revolution of what Nights, Mario 64 or Ape Escape started in terms of analog control....

.....That's why I can't wait to try everyone else's stuff. I've tried some early stuff, and it sounds kind of silly, but the fact that you're sort of moving with what you see on the screen, it tricks your brain a little more, giving you a better feeling of speed/immersion, etc.

You're not suddenly going to think you're having that Peter Moore lucid dream, but sometimes your brain lets you get tricked better, and you get a slightly new sensation in a game context......

I would post the whole interview, but i think that might be frowned on here or whatever...

Sort of sounds fake, but maybe it's real. If it's actually credible, it would almost deserve it's own thread.... :lol i mean DAMN this guy is piling the praise on.

Shit, I've never heard of this site. Can anyone confirm their legitamacy?

Your avatar freaks me out.

Never seen this site before but it read more like an interview with a fanboy than from a developer, especially the way they make fun of Peter Moore. I'm still hopeful of course.

ZOMG REVOLUTION TO FEATURE DOLBY SURRROUNDDDDD
Not too shabby is an understatement. When we power these bad boys up, we're going to own everybody in our building. We've already imagined the possibility of a dentist two floors down accidentally drilling into his patient's skull after he's taken off-guard by the sonic boom of Metroid Prime 3 running in Dolby Digital surround. Is that a hint? I don't know. No, honestly I don't. But damn, that'd be nice.
