How are we going to get info about what happens there? Is nintendo going to have a stream? is any site doing streams/text updates?
What time is it exactly?

Youre right, Japan will explode and the info will be lost!

about 10 hours to go

IGN will be everywhere, but I'm hoping I don't have to depend on them after their Euro coverage last month.

1:05: Iwata talks about Wii.

1:34: New game footage

1:55: Guest talks about feature.

2:00: That's it!

Can we expect some gaffers with celphones to be there?

I'd say 99% sure no.

The first news will most likely break from famitsu or something, some japanese web site.

That is, unless all the info is embargoed.

Sooo it will probably take several hours after the beginning till actual information comes out?

:(

Anoop wouldn't be counted as press?

Hes american press, even though he lives in japan.

When i mean embargoed, I mean like if the usa and europe people have the info embargoed till after the japanese stuff.

i can't make out whether Nintendo-inside.jp are there or not. They seem to know where it is, but i can't quite make out. Its in Tokyo in a hall that is not ZEPP??? But they confirm, its definately 10am-4pm tomorrow.

A few guys in Japanese blogs are saying the main Nintendo of Japan site will post up info when it is released

The times posted on the first page are really confusing. It is no wonder that people keep asking when this is happening. That must have been designed by a programmer.
Try to keep it simple. Just write, "The Japanese event starts at 8PM EDT". Is that too much to ask? And it is not just me. I've been told the wrong time by numerous people who keep thinking, (as I did) that the first number is the japanese time, (8PM) and the second number is the Eastern standard time (2AM).

Japan Event first:
8:00PM (Wednesday) - 2:00AM (Thursday) EDT
5:00PM (Wednesday) - 11:00PM (Wednesday) PDT
1:00AM (Thursday) - 7:00AM (Thursday) GMT/UTC
2:00AM (Thursday) - 8:00AM (Thursday) BST
10:00AM (Thursday) - 4:00PM (Thursday) Japan Time

How is that hard? Pick your timezone and voila, you have your time.

WTF 2D Mario game lets you wall jump?? (Besides NSMB, which that is obviously not). Or is this some trickery?
You can walljump if you hit the wall exactly at a tile seam (16x16 pixel tiles) and press the jump button at the right time. Almost impossible to do without a framestepping emulator.

the info will slip out as the conference goes.

or gaf will break down by 7:30 EDT and everyone will be on their own.

I think it will be the latter. Hopefully some japanese publishing site will post photos of the event as soon as possible. Its Megaton people! MEGATON!

Ok, I'm not sure if I should even post this, but here goes. From IGN Wii boards:

JonEB-IGN posted (he updated it with the third pic... more EDIT: He updated again, and took the other two pics out, leaving only the fire pic..........):

Look out for a handful of nice new Sonic screens. And we'll have a little something on Red Steel later in the day. But the real fun begins tomorrow night when Nintendo of Japan brings the pain for us and the news for you. Actually, I'm looking forward to it, but damn it if NOJ doesn't spoil everything even before the US and European shows begin.

Thursday will bring a mess of updates, hands-on impressions, videos, screens and so on. As Nintendo of Europe might say, this is an event you must not miss. I'm not going to use the "Wii promise" line, but really, we do.
meh

There are a wide number of games that will be playable at this event. Obviously, the big ones from Nintendo, including Zelda, Mario and Metroid, no doubt. But Ubisoft will have new versions of Red Steel and Rayman. SEGA will have Sonic and the Secret Rings and Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz. We'll finally see new levels from the Sonic build, which will be nice -- that game could be cool. EA will have Madden. Activision will bring Tony Hawk and Marvel. Atlus will have Trauma Center. And these are just a few examples.
