The Switch has no eShop music. WHAT

Are people actually upset? I haven't enjoyed menu music on a console since the GameCube, so I'm rather happy about this.

Don't worry guys, you'll be able to download the Nintendo eShop Music App for your phone this Fall 2017, coming with all your favorite eShop jams for a low, low monthly subscription fee of $7.99!

You know, I honestly think the music in the Wii U shop got me to visit it more often.

"I wonder if anything new is on the eshop? Well, either way, I can at least enjoy the music for a few minutes."

This is a non-problem, but it goes to show some of the intangible things that can add up to a great experience. Nobody was really giving Nintendo credit for this: it's not something you discuss in the typical checklist of things to discuss when you review a product, but when it's taken away people realize it added something and they miss it.

I actually like that people are mentioning the lack of personality with the Switch UI: things like this should be rewarded/criticized (same with Sony and Microsoft)

I really dislike the Wii, DSi and 3ds musics, but the Wii ones are often very nice.
Let's hope it comes back maybe as an option.

The Switch looks like an absolutely MISERABLE experience from a system software standpoint. It makes me so disappointed. Hardware is good, Zelda is good, but MAN is everything else at launch is depressing. There is genuinely nothing to do on the system besides play games.

Hmm yeah... that IS a problem... for a gaming system... yeah...

But is it worth being angry over? Next thing you know, people will be mad at Nintendo because the game cards taste bad.

They are things I really enjoy about the systems. I wouldn't get angry over it, but it is definitely disappointing.

Nah I think those acting angry are just teasing, but I'm sure others are legit disappointed. It gave those systems a little more heart.

What's this, a fucking playstation?

Hopefully they'll add some silly tunes in the next update, can't get the wii shop music out of my head and I don't think I've ever purchased anything besides starfox 64 there once.

Would be nice but thats not the end of the world.

I enjoy the PSN and Xbone shop music really much.

I'm sure this will change in the future, but this is pretty lame. The music makes browsing eshop so much better.
On the bright side, since eshop is browser-based rather than ap, Nintedo could add music just about anytime you log in, with almost no warning.

This is actually really disappointing to me... I was genuinely excited to see what Nintendo would pick for its inaugural eShop day. Maybe it'll update around midnight?

Why?

It was really charming. I'm sound nerd, I love music and sound effects.

Obviously that's not a deal breaker, but I don't really get why that would happen.

The Switch eShop looks way too cheap and empty. It looks very boring. To me even the Wii Shop Channel is visually much more interesting. Now I learn it doesn't even have music...

If these modern machines have game stores in them, I want them to feel inviting instead of being just a list of things to buy. The Wii U eShop is fantastic! I can't understand why Nintendo took several steps back from that.

Maybe they'll change it in some future update, I can only hope.

This. I really like how the music also change during different days lol. Like during Haloween, it had spooky music there.^^
