I consider myself a big fan of the Terminator films but I haven't seen the first. I've been meaning to get round to watching it recently.

Yah, it's good but definitely not one of the best films of all time. Can't imagine anyone seriously making that argument.

Is the TV show (Sarah Connor Chronicles) any good?
I saw the whole series.
No.

And like any terminator thread, I must point out...Sexy Terminator theme is the best theme.
Someone getting pregnant tonight.
Wash day tomorrow. Nothing clean, right?
Tech Noir and the police station are perfect examples of where the first movie excels where the sequel does not. No convoluted scheming or wrought dialogue. Just a relentless, unstoppable killing machine emotionlessly honing in on its target.
The infiltrator future scene is great too.

I just got done rewatching the police station scene and that is the epitome of the Terminator franchise for me. It really captures the horror of the Terminator in a way that the sequel never does.
the first Terminator is fantastic in all regards except for the stop motion footage which doesn't hold up well at all.
I love that that's Bill Paxton as the blue-haired guy.![]()
From the new book Movies R Fun!
I get what you're saying. But T2 is no where near the levels of dumb that is Aliens.I love both T1 and T2; they're kind of analogous to Alien and Aliens.
The first is a smaller-scale sci-fi horror, the second is more epic and action-packed.
The music is haunting.

Yeah, it is. Both are pretty amazing action flicks, but both are pretty dumb too.

I also prefer T1, for many reasons, but perhaps first amongst them is that T1 has the best villain in the series, bar none. Arnold is the best evil Terminator, that he's such a substantial threat (and Biehn's great stoic but frightened performance really helps sell it) really makes the whole movie work as well as it does. Also, Arnold's physical performance in T1 is actually really great, his compact, efficient movements make the character seem more dangerous them simply just being a generic, hulking monster that he easily could have been, that its being done by such against type by such a large, imposing man makes his character work even better.
I'm watching the original and... Damn it's... Not... Good... I don't know if it's bad though... It feels bad... I don't know... Haven't watched T2 in forever but I remember it being amazing.
I'll do a complete takedown of T1 in a new thread when I finish it, don't worry.you bump a 11 month thread to post some incorrect bullshit like this????
