The Tomorrow Children Alpha Live Streams

Perfection.

Loving everything I see about this game.

Was incredibly bummed I didn't get into alpha but oh well. Soon enough!

Related question: How do you sign up for betas with PSN?

At one point I thought I already had been, but it seems I missed out on this, Bloodborne, and LBP3, yet I get tons of Playstation junk mail.

I think the signup for this one is closed now, might be wrong though.

Wish they'd remove that awful filter that makes it really dark in the corners, hope I get into alpha though as the gameplay looks really good.

Looks great graphically and I love the concept and style. Can't wait to play it and seems I could get lost in the world for months (here's hoping).

Couple of things that bugged me a bit about the stream though...

When a monster "rampages" through the town, he doesn't do anything but walk through it (the time I saw). No cosmetic changes occurred to the town or the monster animated to attack anything. The town's health bar was just reduced over time.

Running seemed very slow. Not sure if that was a full sprint, but seemed if it was, traversing would be slow going.

Mining and building is slow. Takes a little to long to build a platform or mine one thing. Not saying it needs to be overly fast but it seemed like you weren't getting anywhere, fast.

But otherwise everything looks great.

You can upgrade your digging speed and there are other ways of getting around once you've upgraded the town enough (I think I'm right with that last point)

Only watched a little but... damn that is beautiful as all heck.

I hope this doesn't release until like summer or fall next year for selfish reasons, I want to play the hell out of this.

They said the monster stuff is a bug (clipping through some things rather than destroying it). But there is damage caused upon the town (stuff starts burning.crumbling a bit).

I think there needs to be more happening with the camera or something when mining, to alleviate it being slow (which can be faster as you upgrade the tool obviously).

Biggest issue for me is the platforming physics in general at this point.

They probably need to fix the crafting machine mechanics, either but putting more machines in the town or by changing the puzzle. It takes too long for the people who have to wait in line.

I watched the Extra Life stream and graphically this game is gorgeous. Like holy shit at some of the stuff they're doing. I really dig the concept and it seems like it could be a really fun laid back kind of experience. The only thing I'm not totally sold on yet is the whole "only seeing other characters when they affect the world" approach. It sounds good in theory, but in practice it looks really awkward. Like everyone else is constantly lagging out. Maybe in the final game those transitions will be smoothed out to look more natural, but I can't help thinking the world would be a lot more vibrant and feel more like an actual town if you could just see everyone at all times. Not a huge deal though and wouldn't stop me from playing it.

Was there ever an EU Alpha sign up for this? When the sign ups were live there seemed to be no way to sign up at all from EU but I'm really itching to try this!

The defending looks stressful. Can't seem to figure this out. Seems like in the stream I'm watching that the person playing is alone but I'm most likely wrong.

I'm sure lots of people will love this but it's definitely not a buy for me.

Seriously, what is the point of it? It looks and sterile with nothing that seems to grab you.

To me, it's the idea of building up a little city, and doing the tower defence thing from ground level, is intriguing.

Have non JPN accounts stated getting codes? The confirmation email I got a little over a week ago said the beta codes would be sent directly to my PS4, and that the alpha was delayed and would start on the 10th.

I got invited to this and I'm really excited to try this out. I'm going in blind with basically no info on the game besides the beautiful lighting engine.

was told i got in the alpha, received no code/download instructions. thanks sony. what a joke.

You'll get a notification on your PS4 later on for download instructions.

But it's dull and the environments are lifeless so you don't look like you're protecting or building anything worth while. There's absolutely no character to the buildings or even the places you explore outside of the random constructions that supposed to represent your Town/City. They're just random shapes. And going for that Russian vibe is a BAD mistake. It just adds to the overall feeling of pointlessness and boredom.

I'm sure this will be well received by a lot of people but I'm out at this point. 2 hours of streaming and 0 interest.

Notifications are coming directly from PSN? I got an email saying I was in the Alpha but I haven't gotten a follow-up email yet.

Edit: Just checked the Playstation App and I'm in! Another question, is there a way to activate the alpha code from the app? I get an error every time I try and want this downloading while I'm at work.

Am a bit jealous :)
I was really hoping to get in the closed Alpha, and I'm normally not into Alphas/Betas that much.

The game is so appealing to me in a strange way,and not just because of the amazing graphics... Reminds me of those old animated puppet shows from the 70s, and with asynch co-op MP, along with giant robots and Kaijus...

Can't wait :)

Just got the notification as well. Comes with a code to be reedemed then you can download the game - just under 3GB.

I was expecting a regular message but it was under Notifications -> From Playstation instead. PS App didn't pick it up for whatever reason, had to check it on PS4.

This is probably the least interesting of all the hyped PS4 exclusives that are on the horizon to me. I just don't get it at all, and I can't muster up the enthusiasm to find out.

Some of these islands are amazing. I've seen one made of upside down feet and another that looks like a whale coming through rocks or water.

NA codes have started going out so check your PSN inbox if you got the email saying you're in.

If anyone doesn't want their code for whatever reason, I'll be very appreciative. Signed up for the alpha but wasn't lucky enough. Not much to it, just would really like to try this game.

Judging by the interest level in the thread, I assume mostly everyone else would love to try it as well.

I'd love a code too, the game looks extremely original.

Unfortunately there isn't an actual code to activate it. Sony sends a link as a PSN message that automatically activates the alpha when you click it. It's possible they'll do a beta farther down the line, just keep an eye out for sign ups.

Ok... great?

I disagree about the art style, I think it's quite refreshing, but if you don't like it I'm not sure what to tell you other than don't buy it?
