The truth about Nintendo DS WiFi connection

I absolutely hate the way you find players in Nintendo WFC games. I don't want to wait more than 1 minute freaking searching for players. It has gone all the way up to almost 10 minutes searching for players. How fucking stupid is that? And when I DO get people, it's always just one person (especially with Metroid). I haven't played a worldwide match with more than 1 person yet. In Mario Kart, I would usually get more people, but it would still take a while.

Whaa? What do you mean, exactly? If that's true, I wonder what it is doing...

It skips the normal wait and goes straight to the "You may not be able to gather 3 players" screen... I didn't know you could do it either.

I've played a few games this way tonight and gotten 2-3 players every time (on Worldwide and Continental).

Also take into account though that MP:H was just released, and doesn't yet have the amount of users as say, Mario Kart, which has been released worldwide.

The service is good overall imo. There's just something wrong with Metroid Hunters, and Nintendo is looking into fixing the situation.

The wifi service has been ok for me but the dongle is crap. I've spent hours just trying to set it up. I've only gotten it to work once :|

Pretty much what I gathered is that if it works, it works great, otherwise you're stuck with those endless error codes.

Are you running through a wired router by any chance?

Works perfectly for me. No router, only Zone Alarm. The only thing I have to do is lower my settings from High (stealth) to Medium when I want to play.

it takes me a long time to get 4 player tetris going. sometimes i even get four players.. for it to just sit there a minute and then drop everyone.

Tetris worked fine for me Wednesday and Thursday, but not Friday. Today, it's working again.

I didn't change any router settings or whatever. My PC and PSP have no problems.

Makes me think that the error codes don't mean jack, that their servers either work or don't. And when they don't, all you can do is piss off and come back another day.

I'm so glad it's not yesterday *grin*

I just got the dongle a few days ago. Setting it up was a piece of cake, and it has worked _perfectly_ with Mario Kart and Metroid. My only gripe is the people who drop out in Mario Kart. People who drop should count as a loss.

different friend codes for each game is very annoying. I understand why Nintendo wants to keep friends and strangers seperate, but what would be the problem with assigning one friend code to each DS? Then if you and your friend both got a new game, you'd be able to find each other right away without exchanging new codes...

I hope they change this for the Rev launch

All the times i've witnessed it in Mario Karts and the newly released Tetris it was ace and we always got players quite instantly.

OH MY GOD SOME GAFFER HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE THE SERVICE MUST BE SHIT.

believe.
