The ultimate decision.. Nintendo DS or Guitar Heros..

GUITAR HERO! Dude DS is an investment cause you need a game too. Guitar Hero is just fun and worth the money. By the time you're done with Guitar Hero you'll have the money to pay for the DS and a game.

Guitar Heroes first. if you really want it. I think it will become a rare item.
In the long term the DS is an better investment. But that system is available everywhere.

If you consider buying a DS, you're probably an underdeveloped loser, and hence, Animal Crossing is also probably under consideration.

WTF? , go seek some proffesional help or you will end up in that Basement of yours.

I love this thread. Lots of guys recommending a game that most will just abandon after a month in favor of a handheld with a bright future, even if it is crippleware.

P.S. The DS isn't that great but has longer lasting value.

I have been playing Guitar Hero everyday since it's release, so there goes that theory. I am sure that the same applies to a lot of the other people that recommended GH.

I'll be playing this game almost every fucking day for about two more months, no lie. Multiple sessions a day too, worth every penny.

Hope you enjoy Mario Kart, and your DS, both are fantastic! If you have the opportunity to, down the line, pick up Guitar Hero, do so. Its a lot of fun in spurts.

It's Guitar Hero not Guitar Heros or Guitar Heroes.

Damnit I hate pluralizers.

Anyhow, yeah, I'd suggest getting GH over a DS as it may be hard to find in the future, and it's a fantastic game.

But, it looks like you chose the DS.

And 2-3 years from now you won't playing as much. And you will play alot of other games too in the meantime.
Seriously, the console is always the answer because the game being hot or not, you'll end up wanting to play other games. The guy may just be using it's DS in 2-3 years from and may have played a shitload of games on it by that time. And you, only Guitar Hero? lololololol.

If you're a little bit of a gamer or more, the answer is automatically the console.

Right but Guitar Hero is $70, a DS is considerably more especially with a game. Games like GH that have tons of replay are regularly expanded get way more mileage than your average game. Both are worth the money but if I had to choose I would go with Guitar Hero cause the DS will only get cheaper and GH will only get rarer.

I agree, I personally don't have an interest in GH. But if its a game that you want to play, then I suggest you buy it now, as it one of those games that will become very rare, very quickly.

You made the right decision!

With Daigasso! Band-Brothers (Jam with the Band) I found my game of the year. It's so great. [well, Ouendan is ordered and shall come in the next few days]

Other arguments for the DS:
- Super Smash Bros. DS is in development (but it's unlikely to be released before the Revolution version hits our stores)
- Electroplankton
- Mario Kart DS

That's what you need^^

I was surprised at how good the DS is. I thought it would turn out to be crap. Surprisingly i bought 7 games for the damn thing already! The only game im disappointed with is super mario 64 DS, that game sucks hard on the DS. Castlevania DS might actually be my GOTY.

But even so, just get guitar hero since you obviously want it. Like everyone else said, it will only get rarer. When you first get it you will be like "zomg this game is leik the best game ever lol!!" Those kinds of games usually are fun for a month or two and then they go downhill fast, especially since you cant get new songs etc.

Get a real guitar you pussies

Normally MAF and Drinky would say the same, but this thread was looking at GH in relation to their mortal enemy.

I don't get this thread.

You can have a single game, albeit a very awesome game, or a system that will offer a ton of great games.

Wow, tough choice there...

Uh, no. MAF and Drinky have been singing the praises of Guitar Hero for sometime now.

QFT. I mean really. If you're gonna look like a tool thrashing to 80's guitar rock, at least get the real thing.

I don't speak for everyone, but I already have a guitar.

Guitar Hero is still fuck awesome. Haters FTL.

Has GAF truly sunk to the point where debates between buying a single game and a system are applicable?

In their defense, it's a REALLY GOOD single game! But I have to agree with the choice, especially if they get Ossu Tatakae Ouendan at some point.

Oh, so that's why you needed some convincing on getting GH.

Hey Drinky, log on as Lemurs and repeat what you've already said; Yuna will listen to her.

Get a DS and a friend with Guitar Hero. (I got two friends!)

DS - once you get over the fact that you're holding a guitar instead of a controller, you'll realize Guitar Hero is the same old Simon game you've been playing for years.

Funny thing is, music games are more based on skill than memorization. Hell, music games are amongst the most skill-based I can think of.

DS is the system for housewives and little girls
Guitar Hero isn't a game--it's a CALLING FROM GOD!! FOR COOL DUDES LIKE YOU

Don't be a little girl, get Guitar Hero

You made the right choice

Just look at all the little pussy crybabies coming out of their holes! :lol :lol :lol

Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

That effect alone justifies your purchase tenfold

If you're having doubts about going with the DS, I started one of the first GH-love fest threads here, yet I don't play GH any more. It's a great game, but for me and a lot of people, music games are a fad that fade after a month or less. It's an intense few weeks with a lot of enjoyment, but I don't play music games two months after the fact. Usually other games come along that draw my attention.

The only reason you might want to go with GH is if it becomes a collector's item and skyrockets in price, which right now we haven't seen signs of yet. The game seems readily available, so I wouldn't worry about spending $200 on eBay just yet. You'll get a lot of enjoyment out of your DS, if the library is appealing to you (I think for most, it is). I spend equal time with my DS and 360 right now, while my PS2 is collecting dust, sadly.

Another reason to go with the DS is so you can start getting those games that will be hard to find later. Phoenix Wright is already becoming hard to find, and I haven't seen a copy of Zoo Keeper in ages. Animal Crossing is also distressingly hard to find now, so you should pick up copies of those soon if you intend to own them at any point.

The only reason I would say don't get a DS at the moment is simply because it seems like Guitar Hero is the type of game that would only sell a few thousand copies, and you might never see it again if you wait too long.

What is it with dumbasses saying that Guitar Hero is like playing Simon? One game is essentially just a test of memory, whereas the other is about dexterity and rhythm.
