The Universal Game Crossover Chart 1.00

Acquire has connections between some of the games to, particularly between the Way of the Samurai and Shinobido games. I'm pretty sure the fanbase for either one of these series is rather minor, so I'm probably sure nobody else has posted about it.

- Nomi, one of the characters from the first and third WotS games who serves as the instructor to the game mechanics appears in Shinobido: Tales of the Ninja as an unlockable character once you complete the game 100%.

- Zaji, one of the important characters in Shinobido: Way of the Ninja and Tales of the Ninja, appears in WotS3 as a hired ninja in one of the possible storylines of the game.

- Rokkotsu Pass, the location of the first WotS is also present in cutscenes in the original Shinobido as a resting grounds for the Kenobi Clan, one of the three ninja factions in the game. The cutscenes also include cameos from Suzu and Kurikichi, the two characters who run the restaurant during the events of WotS.

Another example of a pretty niche crossover involves the company Falcom and one of their games, Ys vs Sora No Kiseki: Alternative Saga. It dominantly features characters from the Ys series and the Legend of Heroes games, but includes tons of assist characters from many of Falcom's games. I don't even know all of them, but I would not be surprised if all of their games had some cameo in some fashion! :P

I'm not _too_ interested in strictly internal crossovers but I'm noting these down for later use.

Crazy amount of crossovers in Queen's Gate. I'm pretty sure Kasumi will end up there too since she has a book. A bit weird to see companies pretty much whoring out their characters like this.

Great job.
Just wondering, why didn't you include Mario party? or is it because the characters are all from the same company?

The Ape Escape missions were hilarious.

Snake: If it's a hot damsel in distress, I'll think about it.
Campbell: Well, it's not quite a... hot damsel in distress... but it is a rescue mission.
Snake: Rescuing who?
Colonel Campbell: Apes.

I just got an ad with pornography from the site you uploaded your image to, just a heads up.
LoL
Thanks for confirming that. I am at work and a sound of a horny woman came out from my computer. My colleague noticed that. That was embarrassing.
Now I know from where that sound came from.

I did do a rather big update, available here (1.13):

http://i.imgur.com/gwQwG.jpg

I forgot about Wright and didn't add him until after I posted the pic, but it's just a connection between that and MvC, all other games were already represented. I updated the OP with what's new.

Another connection:

The goo balls from World of Goo show up in a level of ilomilo (SouthEnd Interactive/Microsoft Game Studios).

Also, although I haven't seen these levels myself yet, it appears there are some connections between ilomilo and other games:

Wikipedia said:
"The characters that can be seen in the purple safka's levels are The Goo Balls from World Of Goo, Victor Neff from "The Dream Machine", Meat Boy from Super Meat Boy, and Josef from Machinarium. Additional content is also available if the player also owns A World of Keflings or Raskulls."
I know that owning A World of Keflings and Raskulls unlocks costumes for Ilo and Milo, but I'm not sure if it unlocks anything beyond that.

Also, several enemies from the Mario series show up in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Goombas, Piranha Plants). Additionally, there is an enemy that resembles Kirby. Richard from For the Frog the Bell Tolls also appears in Link's Awakening, plus Dr. Wright from the SNES version of Sim City.

Er wait. What's the connection between Naruto and Tekken?

Yeah. Lars is fun.

Also Street Fighter > Dead Rising 2 (Blanka mask)

Bowser in Zelda

Samus and Link in Super Mario RPG

Wart (SM2) in Zelda

do the characters have to appear in the game or can it just be a reference?

kane and lynch is referenced in hitman: blood money. but their names are not kane and lynch if i remember right. but the escape at the beginning of kane and lynch is reported in the newspaper after you complete a mission in hitman: bm (unfortunate shorthand there).

They have to appear, "in person".

Noting down all additions, there's an endless amount it seems.

As for SF and Tatsunoko, it's mostly a question of having a rather orderly layout. But Capcom is due for a cleanup so I might add in all those links.

I just double checked UMvC's new characters and you need to add a Dead Rising link as well.

BTW, what about games that are crossovers but none of the crossover characters are video game characters?

Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon have their own crossovers of their properties.

On the Japan side there's Dengeki Gakuen RPG: Cross of Venus, which crossover several light novels that have the same publisher, and Banpresto(of Super Robot Wars fame) is putting out Heroes Fantasia, which has characters from 10 anime series.

If they aren't included due to the lack of video game character connections, I understand.

Wow, I never followed Super Meat Boy development, so I had no clue all those AAA and indie characters were in the game or connected to it. I knew Steve from Minecraft was in, but that's it.

Damn, now I wanna play the copy I got from the HB.

Oh yeah, that. That will most likely make a huge mess of this chart, considering that Sega and Capcom haven't really done anything before.

Probably don't count since they are not playable ... but ....
Asura's Wrath :

Okami's Ammaterasu

Monster Hunter's cat

Street Fighter's Blanka (Ono's toy)

[edit]---------------

Isn't Star fox and F-zero considered a crossover?
UDtcz.jpg

Does Ammy actually appear somewhere in the game except in that piece of art?

And James doesn't really count, unless Fox's father was a human.

Wouldn't Pokémon + Nobunaga's Ambition be included in this chart?

Edit: Also forgot, Kingdom Hearts should have The World Ends With You linked to it, with the upcoming 3DS game and all.

A partial list of characters in Project X Zone was revealed last week (source)

Capcom
Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter
X and Zero from Mega Man X
Demitri and Dante from Darkstalkers and Devil May Cry
Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine from Resident Evil

Sega
Sakura Shinguji and Ichigo Ogami from Sakura Wars
Akira Yuki and Pai Chan from Virtua Fighter
Kurt and Riela from Valkyria Chronicles 3
Cyrille and Toma and Ulala from Shining Force EXA and Space Channel 5

Namco Bandai
Sanger from Super Robot Taisen OG
Jin and Xiaoyu from Tekken
KOS-MOS and T-elos from Xenosaga
Yuri and Estelle from Tales of Vesperia
Kite and BlackRose from .hack

Good luck!

Oh yeah, forgot about Cannon Spike. Had no idea about Segagaga. And yes, Project x Zone is a huge calamity upon this chart, but I'll wait until we actually know most of the cast before I start untangling it.

NiGHTS appears in Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing, as a non-playable: http://sonic.wikia.com/wiki/NiGHTS#Sonic_and_SEGA_All-Stars_Racing

Nights-sonic-and-sega-all-star-racing-screenshot.jpg

Also, G-diffusers are mentioned in both F-Zero and Star Fox on multiple occasions, as the tech that lets the racing machines and Arwings hover above the ground (in the Arwings' case, only when they're not in space). Not sure if that meets your criteria, though. http://starfox.wikia.com/wiki/G-Diffusion

I've always enjoyed the implied connections between Nintendo's spacefaring series -- Metroid, F-Zero, and Star Fox.

Yeah, this is going to get freaking crazy now with Project X Zone and the Sony crossover.

Anyways, wanted to point out some things that I'm not sure if they've been mentioned before.

-Boktai and Metal Gear should be connected. There's MG gear in Boktai and viceversa, and more importantly, Snake himself is a character in Boktai 2 and 3 (though he's just called ??? and apparently has amnesia).
-Megaman should also be connecting to Capcom vs SNK/SNK vs Capcom (Zero in SvC)
-And also to Namco X Capcom
-Raving Rabbids and TMNT crossovered once in that Wii fighting game.
-Back to the Future can also be connected to Poker Night at the Inventory

I think that's all I got right now.

Thanks! I'm saving up for a huge update once we know the PxZ and PSASBR casts. I'm thinking that I'll need to switch Konami and Sega around to let them hook up more easily with Capcom and Namco, but depending on the guest characters in PSASBR it might need even more rearranging. Luckily I might get away with having Banpresto as a separate entity with PxZ and just keep them in the middle.

Actually, the way things are going, I might have to remake it completely with Capcom in the middle. They sure like to crossover with everyone.

Some time later and the huge games are nearing release. I've added Segagaga and the recent suggestions, as well as the known casts of Sonic & Sega All-Star Racing Transformed and Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale. Things are looking pretty up, I can fit this inside the established borders, no problem...

And then Project x Zone.

rXfJE.jpg

So yeah, this will take some time to untangle before I can publish the full updated version...

Incidentally, I believe Sega has crossed over every single one of their games at some point. They're just crazy.

Since the Mario theories topic brought this chart to my attention: Will you put Lucasarts (RIP) into a Disney sub-box or will you keep them seperate despite Lucasart (once) being a subsidiary? Likewise for DC and Adult Swim (Brock Samson in Poker Night 2) in regards to Time Warner.

I'd consider adding Sony but other than that great job. welp, I'm dumb.

Also posting to express my opinion that crossovers are universally awful in plot-based games but okay in non-plot based games.

Super Robot Wars? My Japanese is very limited but from what I've read of impressions from fluent readers they are generally enjoyable.

Some more enquiries I'd like to make:

Non-Specific
-Dead Space will be linked to not only PlayStation All-Stars but also NBA Jam, as Isaac was playable in NBA Jam On Fire Edition, alongside Faith from Mirror's Edge and characters from SSX and NBA Street. Also, Mortal Kombat should be linked to NBA Jam as well, since MK characters were playable in early versions of NBA Jam Tournament Edition.
-Tekken's Kuma has a DLC cameo appeareance in the flesh in Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory.
-Earthworm Jim was a playable character in the PC version of Battle Arena Toshinden by Takara.
-Since you'll have to add Evil Dead to the chart because of Poker Night 2, do know that it doesn't have a consistent video game licensee or even Hollywood studio so it'll hafta go outside a box.
-The Wii U version of Scribblenauts Unlimited has built-in (that's an important word, given the game's custom object sharing feature) Mario and Zelda character words. Therefore, not only should it be linked to both Mario and Zelda, but since Scribblenauts is a Warner Bros. IP, what I'd suggest is to make a Time Warner box, put Netherrealm and DC Comics there as sub-boxes and insert in that box Scribblenauts, the currently isolated Nightmare on Elm Street and (you'll hafta add it due to Poker Night 2) Venture Bros.
--Given that last sentence, if you do follow it up, some consistency would be appreciated by merging Eido and Square-Enix, and Disney/Marvel/Lucasarts afterwards.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed:
-Since Wreck-it Ralph has to be added to the chart thanks to All-Stars Racing Transformed, will you consider linking it to every series that have cameos in his film or would that be ignored because it's, well, a film, regardless of its video game thematic?
-Consider linking Panzer Dragoon and Burning Rangers to All-Stars Racing Transformed, as while they are only represented by tracks in that game, those tracks have cameos from their characters in the flesh too.

Indie games:
-Dungeon Defenders is linked to both TF2 and Portal; it has the Heavy, Pyro, Medic and Engineer as familiars as well as the Portal Device.
-Bastion is also linked to Portal; one of the Secret Skills (special attacks) is a Gel Canister that summons a Portal Turret.
-Defense Grid: The Awakening is also connected to Portal due to the "You Monster" DLC, guest starring GLaDOS.
-On that note, since DD, Bastion and Defense Grid would fit nicely next to Meat Boy's mass, I suggest they all be grouped into an Indie box.
-I assume I Wanna Be the Guy isn't linked to Mario because of its fangame status?

Tripwire Interactive:
-Killing Floor and The Ball are linked to both each other (the latter's protagonist Harchier Spebbington is a playable guest in the former) and Portal (they both have levels set in Aperture Science. Furthermore, GLaDOS temporarily replaced the Trader in the former during the Portal 2 ARG)
-Killing Floor is also linked to TF2, it has the Pyro as another guest character.

Valve:
-Gordon Freeman is a guest in the PC version of Sega's Renegade Ops.
-Add Dota 2 to Valve and link it to Half-Life and Bastion, as Isaac Kleiner and Rucks are DLC announcers for it.

Square-Enix/Taito:
-Shouldn't Pop'n Pop in Taito be highlighted green?
-Add Darius, Metal Black, Night Striker and Rayforce and link them all to Space Invaders; their ships are DLC ships in Space Invaders Infinity Gene.
