And more big news!

WALKING DEAD 127 COVER AND BIG NEWS! [Possible Spoilers]

It's really difficult to decide what to make of the Issue 127 cover... could be massive spoilers... could be Kirkman trolling again. lol

Of course it'll be the issue immediately following the conclusion to ALL OUT WAR, kicking off a new volume titled
A NEW BEGINNING
. Set to hit the shelves on May 14th and it'll be double-sized at 48 PAGES!! :O

Totally not gonna look at that cover :D

So just finished compendium 1 and compendium 2 should be at my house tomorrow. Damn that was crazy. Kirkman shows no mercy. Story got really freaking dark at times but I just could not stop reading. Also I started with the show but I am so glad I decided to read the comics.

Yeah. The comic is much MUCH more brutal. Particularly that scene with the Governor.

I've read through both compendiums and love it so far. I'm tempted to catch up with the regular TPBs but I'll probably just wait for the next compendium now.

Compendium 3 probably isn't coming out until, like, 2016 though. You're only 4 TPBs behind though so it's not like you have a whole lot to catch up on.

I just finished reading Compendium 1. Man the comics are a lot more brutal. Andrea is way cooler though.

TV Andrea and comic Andrea might as well be two completely different characters. Comic Andrea is a fucking badass, whereas TV Andrea is annoying dumb, and weak. They also share next to nothing in common in regards to their plot/development. The only thing I can think of that happens to Andrea in both the show and the comics is
the death of her sister
before they even leave the camp at the start.

I buy Walking dead comics on the iOS Comixology app, as they had a fantastic sale a while back in which you could get the volumes for half price, so I bought the first 10.

I now buy individual issues as they're released, but I really wish Comixology would let you download a volume for free if you own all the issues it contains. It would make things a lot easier.

EDIT: Oops, two consecutive posts; my bad.

That Negan's so diabolical. Tainting his army's weapons with the walker virus to contaminate people without being bitten.

Will Rick escape this latest misfortune? Or has his fate finally been sealed? We'll find out in two weeks' time.

He probably switched the arrow out.

Aw, yeeaaahh! It's about time!

:P

Just finished reading the last three volumes (19, 20, 21). I thought they were pretty underwhelming to be honest. For a two volume long arc titled "All Out War", there sure was a whole lot of talking and not a whole lot of, well, war.

I did like how the whole A Larger World/Alexandria/Negan arc turned out to be a sort of mirror of the Prison/Woodbury arc, with
both arcs ending on the exact opposite ends of the spectrum:

Prison: War ending with the deaths of pretty much everyone, good and bad. Sanctuaries are destroyed forcing everyone flee to new lands.

AOW: War ending with the survival of pretty much everyone, good and bad. Sanctuaries are mostly intact and everyone pledges to rebuild.

I'll have to wait until November for Volume 22 to come out, but at this point I'm not sure where things will/can go from here. The characters have the zombie stuff on lock, whether it's one-on-one, 5-on-500, or anywhere in between. When it comes to zombies, I feel like the only new things the writers could bring to the table would be, like, a herd consisting of millions, evolved zombies, or animal zombies. All of which would probably be sort of lame.

At the same time, I'm not sure if they could come up with a villain who is considerably different (in terms of, like, intentions/goals) than The Governor, Chris, or Negan.

I just can't see how they can move this thing forward without repeating some of the things they've already done.

I need to catch up, last issue I read was 131 if I'm not mistaken. I'm sorta surprised this thread isn't more active considering the popularity of the franchise...then again, we have a monthly dedicated comic thread.

Cant remember the exact issue I read last but it was when
Rick and the crew managed to infiltrate Negan's camp with the inside help of the burned faced guy

What happened after that? I don't mind being spoiled

I stopped reading when
the dude with the spiked bat beat Glen to death

I mean, part of me kind of wants to know what happened after that and where everyone is now, but the bigger part of me just stopped caring.

edit: Is Rick dead yet? When is Karl going to be the main guy?

They capture Negan, lock him up in a jail cell in the basement of a house in Alexandria, and live happily for several years.

The new threat is just now being introduced in the next arc.

The idea of having
several years pass by
is actually very nice and refreshing to the series. The villain formula was getting a little tiring

Thank you

Ya...about that...

The jump forward was refreshing.
Coral is an angsty teen now. The community of people trying to rebuild spans several towns linked by patrolled roads. There is a new villain though, and we're going to see soon how much the formula changes.

Man 144 is just
WOW
. For those who haven't caught up, do so!

Yep.
I just wish I knew who the heads belonged too, beside Rosita and Ezekiel. I'm thinking one was a guy from the group that came in before the fair, but I have no reason to care about any one besides Rose and Zeke. It'll be interesting though to see what Negan does when he gets set free (accidental or on purpose) once the Horde attacks.

I think they are just people who have short bit parts in the festival scenes, with the people who last saw them in the panels next to their heads. It's the number of people dead and that they have loved ones looking for them that made it impact me even though they weren't established characters. I don't care about Exekiel except it means Michonne will be back.

Olivia was also one of those who got killed. She's sort of more important, after Ezekiel and Rosita. Poor Eugene.

TWD# 166 out now. How many more scenes can take place with Rick sitting behind a table? Haha. People dying left and right though. I can't stop reading this book
