I think I saw him, but I'm not sure.
I am assured by Kirkman himself that I'm in there but I think it's in a only a few blink-and-you'll-miss-it type shots. You should be able to spot me
in Atlanta when Rick passes the intersection with the zombie-filled street and they start chasing him, and somewhere in the horse feeding frenzy because I had my hands right in its guts.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I made you out (for split second anyway), but the quality wasn't good enough. I'll be able to tell soon :D .

Maybe this has been answered in the old thread but did anyone ever find out the name of the songs used in the first (long) trailer released for the series?

Another place to look, when
Rick gets dismounted off the horse and falls backward and sees more zombies coming at him forcing him under the tank, I'm one of those

I'm going to wait until Monday for the 1080p 5.1 version on the 360's Zune Marketplace.

You guys must have no patience to watch such a low quality version a week before the premiere.

I just watched a snippet... it has amazing production values, I hope they keep it up.

Is this a mini-series?

Nope, full ongoing series.

Will it be on PSN? I'm getting rid of my 360 today.

Yes, Rubicon is available on PSN in HD (720 or 1080 i don't know) and in 5.1. I'm assuming AMC will put The Walking Dead on their too though Season 3 of Mad Men is on PSN but Season 4 isn't. The prices on PSN are as follows: $2.99 HD and $1.99 SD (ownership price not a rental).

The 360 has 1080p 5.1 streaming so you don't have to wait for entire episode to download. The HD option is for 240 MS points ($3).

These days TV shows are filmed and framed specifically for HD resolutions (examples being Breaking Bad and Rubicon). The director of photography for both shows talked about it recently on a video on AMC's website. I'm assuming they're doing the same for The Walking Dead even though artistically they want to show to look like film.

understandable if it's not gonna air in your country

but only then ;)

What if we couldnt help ourselves????? Lol. Trust me, im gonna do all i can to keep this series going, as long as it comes close to keeping the same production values as the pilot, i will be DVR'ing it and buying the blu ray once it comes out. :-)

"I can't help myself, I had to steal!" is probably not a good defense in court

surprised how often i jumped during this episode, despite the shitty quality.

Hopefully this show increases the comics readership

Is it stealing if a person buys the dvds/blu-ray; watching it on AMC; downloads it on PSN or live? Yet, they still downloaded it before it premiered?

Yeah, i dont see how im exactly stealing. I watched it before i was suppose to, yet im going to DVR it and will buy the Blu Ray when it comes out. I highly doubt i would ever be prosecuted for watching something early.

I would imagine every one here who's seen the pilot will be back for more...in any form.

I'm salivating for the bluray set right now :O.

I saw ya cause of the clothes. I had to rewind a few times :D

Whitta is in at least two shots,
one when Rick reaches for his gun bag and there is another shot of Whitta tearing into that poor horse.
I tried to screencap it but the quality is just too poor, especially with all the camera motion going on in those shots.

First episode was amazing. Show tries to focus on drama rather than scares. They handle that really well. Was worried the show was gonna have a throwaway story and try to throw a zombie in your face every couple of seconds. Casting seems really good. I see a lot of potential here.

Not only will I do that, but I've put at least a half dozen people onto the show that I wouldn't have otherwise. Being able to show them the first five minutes on my iPad is what made it so easy.

Saw the leaked pilot HOLY SHIT was that good. And so intense! I was watching it at 3AM last night and I had to stop it and wait for morning when Rick was in the stairwell at the hospital.

I don't have cable, so I can't watch it on TV, but I am so gonna iTunes/DVD buy this ASAP. Holy crap, unbelievably good.

the effects were pretty great.
I wonder how they filmed the scenes of the woman without her torso. Amputee? Or did they have to dig her a hole each time?
Uh, green screen?

The guy playing Morgan is fantastic.

edit: I still can't believe this is real.

Yeah, he is. That scene
where he tries to shoot his wife
could have been hokey but he makes it superb. I was really impressed with him.

Yeah, Morgan was great.

COMIC BOOK SPOILERS

We don't see him again for a loooong time in the book, but the pilot suggests we'll see him again very soon. Which sounds good.

Rick was great too.

Yeah, the episode was pretty damn good. The only thing I feel like whining about is really that there were little to no surprises; the four minute trailer was very much a summarization of the entire episode. Other than that it was great.

Basic rule of thumb for me... I don't have pay tv and im not waiting for shows to air on free to air tv networks. So I download the shows I like then pick up the dvd or bluray version when its released.

'Walking Dead' plans global zombie invasion stunt

AMC plans a rather ambitious promotional stunt to promote The Walking Dead.

The cable network is staging "zombie attacks" in 26 major cities -- hundreds of extras in zombie makeup roaming landmarks such as the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City, the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C., Big Ben in London, The Prado Museum in Madrid.

The stunts will commence at daybreak in Taipei and Hong Kong on Tuesday, Oct. 26 and moves across the globe during a 24 hour period and culminates at the show’s Los Angeles premiere.

The six-episode series debuts Oct. 31 and the series is going to debut internationally in 120 countries the same week as the U.S. premiere.

I've seen the first two episodes. If you've watched the four-minute trailer, you have an accurate sense of how well-executed this drama is. Fans of the genre are going to love it. The question is whether it can draw a large enough (read: female) audience. The uncompromising opening scene, which I won't spoil, is going to lose X% of viewers right off the bat. The rest is almost certainly the most gory series ever to air on TV.

Best part is that its going to be a worldwide show within a week of it airing in the US.

More shows need to do this. Sky are getting better at putting up American shows quickly but it can still be 2-3 weeks behind.
