Everything but the end music was awesome. That music was terrible haha
Yeah, it was an odd choice since the rest of the episode had such great tunes (an extra special shout out to the biker girl scene).

pretty good start

liked the music (except for that "space junk" piece at the end wtf) and general look of it.

wasn't quite as scary as i was hoping for.

the fake suicide at the end was kinda corny

SG:U does the same thing, with pop/rock outros.
It's weird, but I think it fits.

I really liked it. It will be so much better once they shoot some night and rain scenes. I was impressed by the special effects. The zombies look really damn good for a TV show... Better than I've seen in some movies.

Agreed, got hyped to see who was talking just to notice it was 10:30. FUUUUUU. The turning the block into a sea of zombies was pretty epic, didn't see it coming. Gonna check into the comic of this now.

That scene was done so well, especially with the lack of typical "Action Moment Music #4."

Was it fake or was he really gonna do it, then saw the opening in the tank hmmm?

AMCdead.com is saying the contest hasn't even started, if you manage to get through from it being hammered.

It's a small, metal tube. Yeah, the vibrations made from that would be horrendous.

I figured the Military would have better soundproofing in the tanks. *shrug* Guess not.

Ok this is my first exposure to this, but do we know where this is supposed to be taking place?

Atlanta = GA = SE US. GA rural area at the start/after cold-open.

I will give this a couple more episodes before I come to a conclusion on it, however so far it's not very entertaining.

I suppose I should read the books, I've only had at least 4-5 ppl tell me it's a must.
So was I right or was I right?:D

your chances of being picked to be a zombie is the same chance is getting into a beta for a ps3 game.

Oh, I know. But it can't hurt to try. Always wanted to be put in zombie make up.

I won a contest in the past five years on... get this... G4. A remote controlled airplane I didn't even enter a code for. Was trying to win a PS3 at the time.
Ate up my contest winning for the decade already. :lol

Yeah, contest is open now. If you can get the form to load good luck getting the entry in. Database is overloaded/getting hammered.

Loved the pilot even more the second time, and I'm guessing the third time in HD will be even better. :D

It's got the perfect apocalyptic atmosphere.
Also, the comments from a reviewer that there wasn't enough comic relief were outright incorrect. I found the opening 10 minutes genuinely funny. And we'll only see more of that as survivors group together.

Now, to answer questions that I realize are troll questions, but what the fuck ever:
1) Did some people actually think this was a miniseries or even movie? Really? I don't know anybody under 65 who picks out what to watch by looking at the channel listings and saying "well that title sure is interesting!" My 51-year-old dad and 46-year-old mom look up shows and movies on the internet before watching them. I realize this is a little mean, but it's a question that a 20 second google search and a small level of awareness could fix.
2) Maybe it's just that I read the comics, but I thought the show made it really extra super clear that the hospital wing was sealed off and abandoned. That's why it wasn't very bloody/messy in the area Rick was in: no one had gone into it. The other areas, which people had tried to escape through, were all torn up and had bodies. Was it that hard to figure out?
3) Yeah, the cops were awful at the beginning. That was the intention. Did people not understand those cops were bad when one of them forgot to load his gun before facing armed criminals?

The end music was really bad. It wasn't even the style of music, it was the lyrics for me. Why would you choose a song that repeats the phrase "space junk" to end an episode of a zombie show? :lol

Loved it and I like how it looks like it will add to to comic. My only concern is the son if the show gets a long run, guess they can just stretch out the time line.

Argh, Shane and Lori.

Gonna so enjoy
Shane getting what's coming to him
.

Actually.....
According to the producers, he's gonna be living much longer than his comic counter-part.

That was a great start.

Even cooler is that my roommates friend was an extra (zombie) in the flick. Got paid a couple hundred bucks for it, pretty sweet. I had no idea lol, he told everyone right before we watched it.

Anyone else think they should've kept the pilot to an hour? I feel like they needed to give the audience more time to absorb that scene of the half zombie in the park. Awesome pilot regardless. I hope they do
revisit Morgan and Duane even though they're not going to be part of Rick's story anymore.

I'm getting that impression too. It would explain why
his relationship with Lori
was revealed so soon.

Thanks for entering!

Only one entry per person per week. Entries received from any person regardless of e-mail address used in excess of the stated limitation will be void.
