How long was the main character in a coma for. Has it been clearly stated.

Honestly, why does it matter? There are so many variables that can excuse her from being a "whore" as you so delicately put it. Were Lori and Shane harboring a mutual attraction to each other pre-apocalypse? Did Rick and Lori have marriage troubles? Is it possible that emotions and the feeling of being wanted and protected override common sense and drove Shane and Lori into each others arms?

Goddamn, this place is full of misogynistic assholes. Monogamy isn't even a natural concept anyways, let people fuck who they want to fuck.

Most concepts are artifice, synthesis, a little bit of necessity and a dash of preference. That said, my main problem with it in the comic was that Shane was such a creepy opportunistic dick.

wow some GAFers have some real deep psychological issues with females. Must be the near endless times they've been rejected by them in their life.

You're better than that, Amir0x. Fire some direct shots.

I watched episodes two and three back and I'm glad I did, episode two felt so incomplete

I'm also glad they didn't make a big deal of getting back into the city. Hopefully the show moves forward from the city with time. I'm feeling like the soap-opera HE IS SLEEPING WITH HER AND HE DOESN'T KNOW shenanigans could get really old, and forcing an antagonist out of the one-handed red-neck just doesn't do it for me. It just feels like it's slowing things down. I want forward movement in the direction away from the city and petty, cliche people on people bullshit.

Sometimes. . . dead is better

cant wait. but it sucks, this sunday will be the first one ill have to wait till monday to watch it. I wont have anywhere to go watch it this time. :(

Been following this, really enjoy it so far.

I'm very happy that the husband reconnected with his wife and child so early. I thought that was going to be some sort of long, drawn out thing.

Have to agree with her though, he's being pretty dumb to leave them again. Regardless of the redneck on the roof and the guy with the radio, my family would have to come first.

I like the attention to detail with the guns and the bag though, I thought that was going to be forgotten about.

I think I'd go live on island in the south pacific. Can zombies swim or walk on the bottom of the ocean?

Depends on the Canon. I know many assume they walk at the bottom of the sea. I subscribe to the Max Brooks canon, but will follow and agree with any story I'm watching/reading. Many recommend going north because Zombies freeze in the cold.

I never really subscribed to that one because, well, so do people.

Survival of the Dead showed Zombies underwater in a lake moving. I doubt the ocean would be possible though due to depth and of course hungry fishes who would turn into zombie sharks :O

People also have the capability to civilize themselves in the North, and gather materials to stay warm, which Zombies do not.

::EDIT::

There is no 100% safe place to go

you might get a kick out of reading world war Z. Pacific islands ended up being some of the WORST places to go-

not only could zombies walk/float along the bottom of the ocean, but frequently (floating) bodies would wash ashore, or derelict ships full of zombie passengers would run aground.

Until someone sneaks onto the rocket taking them to the moon and the zombies penetrate that habitat as well. Plus they don't have the need for oxygen...
Not only that not knowing what has indeed caused the dead to rise you could very well bring it with you to the moon in the air supply thus when someone dies on the moon it starts all over :o

I'm guessing that will get CGI'd out for the DVD release.

best thing about this show is the title music/sequence
While I definitely wouldn't call the title sequence the best thing about the show, I do really enjoy it.

I don't like the fact that the fan-made title sequence has made so many people bitch about the actual credits. They're really well done.

Which Max Brooks strongly argues against, especially in World War Z. ::shudder::

See I dont agree with the underwater ocean walking thing. I could see close to shore walking and such but deep water would crush a zombie just like depths can crush a sub. The Pacific Ocean gets very deep leaving California before you ever reach any islands.

Just watched episode 2 and 3 back to back. <3 Daryl. I really hope they keep him around (haven't read the comics). He's like a really manly, drugged-out version of DiCaprio. With a crossbow.

*COMIC SPOILERS* Been catching up on the comic recently. Man the
governor is fucking brutal
. can't wait to see who plays him. That whole arc is gonna be so full of win.
Don't think they'll kill of Lori and a whole bunch of other people too. I don't think people would respond to that well, but hey, zombie apocalypse. Don't like it? Eat a bullet.

I didn't think the acting was as bad in the third episode. Seems like the actors are getting more comfortable with their characters. Thoroughly enjoyed that episode.

The writing... the occasional cliché, but there's some good stuff, too. I'm not as turned off as some. Gonna keep watching.

Someone needs to die, though.

Didn't the third episode air this past Sunday night? Why the hell isn't it on On Demand yet? Only the first two eps are up. :(

Finally watched this episode.. Pretty solid overall. I really like the survival element that's being executed here. But argh @ the racist skinhead having a brother. They're both such annoying and awful characters. I sure hope they die soon.:/

The love triangle drama is still annoying as ever. But surprisingly i actually kinda liked shane in this episode, mostly for beating up the wife beater character.:lol

And damn @ the last few pages of this thread.:lol

It was starting to remind me of Lost in that regard.
I actually read the author directly comparing this series to LOST.:lol which is kinda worrying.

I liked this episode. It made me happy that Laurie immediately dropped Shane when she learned that Rick was still alive.

Shane is a jerk, but like the above poster, I also enjoyed it when he destroyed the wife-beater.

The redneck storyline is a little annoying though.
