Alright 1st season. Hopefully next season picks up (comic spoilers)
especially if they find the prison next season. Cause that's when shit gets real in the comics

I heard that was actually gonna be the 3rd season. Next season is with them mostly on the road and going to Herschel's farm.

This show is awesome. It is the first show where you never truly feel that the main characters are safe. What other shows can offer that kind of intensity?

The pilot was really damn good and the rest of the season has been off and on.

I guess they want us to speculate about what was whispered in Rick's ear.

My guess: be sure to drink your ovaltine

I don't know.

I like it. It's had it's moments, mostly in the excellent pilot, but it's not great by any means. For starters, I find pretty much find all the characters to be dull. I watched every episode and I still don't know any of their names, it's just the hillbilly, the black guy, the cancer lady, the asian guy...none of them are particularly interesting and the acting is serviceable at best. I don't really give a shit what happens to them, which kind of sucks all the drama out of the scenarios.

It was too bad that they spent most of the finale dealing with tired moral dilemmas rather than what actually drew me to the show in the first place: muthafuckin zombies. The pilot stands far above the rest, but as a whole the first few were much more exciting than the last few. I think it's decent as a zombie tale but they haven't really proven that they're going to take it in a unique direction, it still feels like we're revisiting a lot of the classic zombie movie cliches.

So yeah, I have a lot of problems with the show but only because it could be so much better. AMC has the good shit and Walking Dead has shown the occasional hint at greatness. If only it wasn't such a short season. Overall, it was a tad underwhelming but I still look forward to the next season. Bring back Michael Rooker.

This doc is a whole lot more disturbing knowing he just let these people in to intentionally murder them in like, 24 hours.

"YOU'RE KILLING US!!" indeed, Rick Grimes.

"But don't plug in the video games, we need to conserve power."
*Turns on twenty computers and a gigantic screen to give a presentation to like ten people*

So, the season comes to a close! I liked the finale but not as much as the other episodes. I think it comes down to my main problem of the show not having enough time or episodes to tell a proper arc. Hopefully though this will be remedied next season.

The production quality had been fantastic and I've thought that each episode has had something worthwhile in it. I'm a big zombie fan and to have a TV series like this is a joy. Next on the list is to pick up the Bluray and start reading the comics! I'm sure I'll have more criticisms of the season later but its late and I'm off to bed.

Now the waiting begins.
For more Dalefaces and Gifs.

Amazingly good episode.

This was right up there with the premier for me.

Now, feel free and get back to the source material please.

why do they drive like five cars again? that seems kinda wasteful

24 hours of booze and T-dawg's powdered eggs > wandering the wasteland

It wasn't my favorite episode, but it was decent. I agree with Cornballer: A very uneven season. My hope is that they try to preserve the comic's tone and theme even if they stray from the comic. This episode tried to keep that tone, but was a little too dramatic for my tastes. I realize drama is the essence of the comic, but at least there were some interesting situations there. Going to CDC - We're saved - Place is set to blow is not necessarily interesting.

Talk about starting with a bang and ending with a whimper.

Still if you look at it as just a zombie show on TV it's not bad. It's just not as good as I expected, coming from Darabont and the source material.

Actually, I think it turned out that they didn't get fired. Hooray?

Really? I just remember this week that they got rid of the writers could be wrong though.

Show was good. Gave me what I wanted people killing zombies. The characters are not that likable though. Only character I liked is Rick and the black guy and the son during the first episode. Also Daryl.

Doc probably whispered another place to go that might have a cure or some shit.

I liked the episode, but yeah, the special effects were awful tonight.

Fairly uneven season, but the pilot was incredible, so I'm hoping that they'll be able to have a really strong second season (they'll almost certainly put more money behind this endeavor now).

The show steadily declined in quality following the pilot. It really hit rock bottom for me in episode 4. Vatos was a horrible episode whose only saving grace was the attack on the camp that came in the final 15 minutes of the show.

The final was probably the second worst episode out of the whole season for me. I think aftre watching the first two episodes and reading through the comics I have spoiled this show for myself.

In his defense he saw his wife turn into a zombie and clearly that was a source of pain for him. He thought he was being kind to them by giving them a day of relaxation and a return to some kind of normalcy and a painless death.

He was a fascinating character.

Though they did tread awfully close to explaining too much of the outbreak for my tastes.

I think the season would have benefited from having fewer characters. That way they could have focused more on the ones that died later to make their deaths more meaningful, instead of knowing them as "the dick who hit his wife" and "the sister in the boat".

All told, show has alot of growing to do and work ahead of it, both from actors, producers, directors and writers.

That said, it has amazing potential and I'm on board with almost every actor/actress in it. Looking forward to a full season of zombie love next year. As of right now, show's got me hooked.

The Walking Dead: Season One on Blu-Ray

March 8th, bitches!!

dale's line about "you dont just come into my life and make me care" or whatever was cornball to the extreme

like willy level of cornball

I liked the pilot, but god, I don't know if I can come back for season 2. This shit smell on this series is potent like a motherfucker when you flip to it after Boardwalk Empire.

I feel like half of his lines are either cheesy shit like that, or some pretentious-sounding diatribe. I can't really tell if it's the character that I dislike or the actor, but the whole "wise elder" thing isn't working for me.

Not really. The show is as good as the comic usually is. The pilot was an anomaly for the whole franchise.

That said I liked the doctor and I like Dale and I dont quite get why everyone hates Andrea. Doesnt anyone know what depression is?

The cable cut out 20 minutes from the end but thankfully it came back quickly. Alright finale but I loved the season overall. Can't wait to see where it goes. My friend guessed what the scientist said to Rick (spoiler tagging just in case, NOT a comic spoiler, pure speculation)
His wife is pregnant. I assume this will be how her and Shane's relationship gets uncovered to Rick.

I disagree with that a bit. I never have any real sense of tension. Theyre caught in some shitty situations but every one seems to be sharp shooters and they only get attacked by a few zombies at a time for the most part. And zombies conveniently leave areas for them a lot to. I wish the whole situation was a bit more dire.

28 days later. THATS tension.

Like, were we supposed to believe they shared some intensely deep relationship after the one scene they shared talking about her sister's birthday present? :lol

You expected the same quality? Out of The Walking Dead?

I would like to ask this question to the writers. And the actress that plays her.

No, I don't hold it to the same expectations. The pieces for TWD are set, but it's like whoever is in control has no fucking idea what they are doing. The writing is just flat out bad. The events that occured are plodding and meaningless, and there is almost zero progression in terms of character development. Most of them I only know via stereotype. There's the asian, the lady with the dykish haircut, the blonde, the old guy, the italian cop, the irish cop, the little boy, the little girl, etc. Their motivations are shrouded in a heavy mist.

So not only is there little happening that propels the story forward in terms of what events are occurring, but we don't see anything going on with the characters either. What was the purpose of this plant from the last two episodes even? It served virtually no purpose. The characters could have walked up on it and found rubble and the outcome would have been the same but we might have been saved the melodrama of the show dangling an axe above the head of a bunch of characters nobody gives a shit about.

Your wife is preggars and judging from that scratch on your mans necks... you prolly aint da pappa.

No seriously, that has to be what he said. He took blood tests. I doubt condoms were at all part of the escape plan. Not to mention theyre relationship has to come out in some way down the line.

I thought the SAME thing. I never really saw them interact at all before that point. Seems the writers snuck that in and hoped we wouldnt notice.

They go the knocked up route that would be badass. This show could be so awesome next season if it is done right.

Comic Spoiler:

They are fucking each other and have been for some time. They will get into that later on if it follows the comic at all.

It's kind of an unspoken rumor around camp at this point in the comics

I dunno, their personal conversations don't reflect that.

Its a part of the comics. Obvious the comics moved slower and developed relationships better. I think it was a bad idea adding the extra characters. Especially when most of them do nothing except Daryl, who's only purpose seems to be to charge at people with a weapon and be stopped by someone.

Can you explain what you thought was wrong? I'm interested.
I just don't see any depth to her as a character. The show isn't doing anything to portray her as depressed, and the actress just seems empty headed. Honestly at this point in the story the only focus and purpose of her right now is essentially focused on who is fucking her, and the inevitable fallout that will go down when it surfaces that she's gotten around.

She essentially has zero thoughts or reactions to anything that is going on. There is nothing that would indicate to me that she is depressed beyond the fact that she is so vacant during scenes, but so many of the characters act this way that I can't possibly determine that she is any different than them beyond a more flat delivery of her lines.

1) It's clearly marked.

2) It's a pretty minor spoiler that explains a complaint that was brought up.
