The Walking Dead Season 2 SPOILERS Thread!

one of my favourite scenes...

Woman tells Clem: "You shouldn't be too comfortable here"
Clem answers: "Who's baby is it?"
Women: WTF NOOOOO (at least that's what had to go through her mind)

i love how you can make Clem manipulative like that lol.. (i have 2 playthroughs, one super nice, one really mean)

I was totally planning on just being super nice to everyone in the house. Then this option comes up and I'm like I KNOW BOUT YOUR BABY.

Felt good.

It's probably one of two characters, Kenny or Lilly. I would put my money on Kenny.

I saved Nick due to Pete getting that bite, plus Pete would have wanted me to choose Nick over him.

I didn't deviate from the majority when it came to choices.

Also that dog:

Why is it that the first thing that happens is getting robbed by a black chick going I'MMA POP YOU!

Upon reflection, Pete knows about amputating limbs to stop the spread of infection, and he probably would have tried that on his bite and maybe he would have survived. If I had thought about that in the moment, I would have saved him. I'm not going to rewind, though. Gotta live with my decisions. :P

I was also one of the cold blooded 75% who didn't give that motherfucker water.

If Kenny survived the alley, I'm going to throw a shoe at my TV. I hope it's Lily, now that that possibility has been raised. That stupid Walking Dead book retconned her out of being that Lily so she doesn't need to be gone any more.

I think Christa will be back and we'll find out what happened to her baby.

I knew they were making me hang out with that dog so I'd be sad when it died, but I was not expecting it to be so horrible. I was not ready. Oh my god.

Dr. Carlos is an idiot if he thinks zombies have giant rows of carnivore teeth. That was very obviously not a bite from a zombie. Come on.

Omid dying and Christa losing her baby off screen means no awesome scene where Christa dies and Omid has to open her up and try to save the baby but it's already dead and a zombie. But now there's a much less likeable pregnant lady, so it can still happen! Fingers crossed!

Oh, spoiler thread. How I've missed you. My favourite part of playing the first season. There should be one for The Wolf Among Us when episode 2 comes out.

That dog.......that fucking dog

Great start to the season I thought, was expecting a bigger cliffhanger though

Also......that stitching scene!

Played it that way too. Looooved throwing that back in her face.

I'm playing my clem as i played my lee in S1, nice enough person but don't fuck with her.

damn, fuck you dog! we played fetch! I went with pete, he's bitten but it's not over for him yet. as for episode 2, it's has to be kenny who survived.

one last thing, for those who are hoping for that pregnant lady to die soon, I wouldn't hold my breath.

I had a weird bug when I was sneaking around the house where the models of some of the characters would just show up in rooms, standing completely still. Couldn't interact with them at all, and they didn't have any clipping.

Other than that, playthrough was great. The dog caught me so far off guard, it was excellent. I thought he'd be my buddy.

I was so close to choosing that but I felt like it would come back to bite me later. I don't really blame anyone for calling her out on the baby thing though. She tried to have Clem killed then had the nerve to walk back in and try to kick her out while she's been apparently cheating on her boyfriend/husband. She said that even after they found out that Clem wasn't infected she was a danger to the group. You know what else is a danger to the group? Love triangles, and very loud babies, both of which she is bringing with her, so I don't think that Clem is on the top of their list of potential worries. She and Nick are giving Kenny a run for his money.

And my dog was in the room watching me play when I got to the dog part. It was awkward.

By the way, what did you guys burn when you were making the fire?

Anyone else take the watch when looking for bandages? It didn't come up at all for the rest of the ep, I'm wondering if that will have an effect in the next episode.

This game is so good at pulling at the heartstrings but I'm thinking its getting too manipulative. Omid DEAD. Baby DEAD. Dog DEAD all within like 30 minutes. And the scene when Lee came up at the dinner table. Goddamnit Telltale.

Also the writers need to start writing "talking-to-an-8-year-old" conversations better. "Sorry for being a dick earlier"? No one would ever say that to a child.

I think any form of politeness and consideration is tossed out of the window during a zombie outbreak. I doubt I would care to be proper if I was two years into the chaos.

I think this is the most I've ever used the silence option. Was pretty much half of the conversations I had after meeting up with the group.

I really enjoyed this first episode! The tension, daaaamn. The dog, the stitches, aaaaah! I was feeling all of it.

I got the bandages from the pregnant wife's husband. He was nice after I told him he was.

Manipulation... I like it

Was a bit too gratuitous for my tastes during most of it. The dog scene is completely unrealistic too, as that dog would be weak as fuck but whatever. First 30 minutes or so were terrible, rushing shock moments after shock moments with no emotional resonance. The best they could was to make me feel guilty about killing a god, just because it's a dog.

And lol at folks giving the dude water, people are crazy. Of course I didn't went with Pete either, because he was out of ammo and his leg was fucked. Sorry playboy, you're worthless to me. The whole stitches thing was ridiculous too.

I feel like the only thing that Telltalle got right was how the silence option actually made a ton of sense many times over. Everything else was very shaky, not really delivering the goods here. I honestly hope it gets better.

The dog was still able to play fetch, so he wasn't that weak.

I started tearing up when Clementine was talking about how Lee died because of her. :( It wasn't totally your fault girl!

The dog man
That's messed up

Why did you do this dog? WHY?
I WAS GOOD TO YOU

That Clementine line was great, I don't care anymore, my Clementine is going the badass route.

Saved Nick at the end, but I bet the other guy wasn't bitten, just scratched

The game indicates the dog is looking for food. Owner has apparently been dead for quite some time as the body seem to have decayed quite a bit. The model of the dog shows how thin the dog is. His attitude towards Clementine indicates he's very social, and when he sits he sits because he knows he can get food that way.

All of a sudden the dog goes into healthy raging pitbull mode. Furthermore he doesn't bite because he's scared Clem is going to take the food away from him, otherwise he would let go once the can of beans was on the ground. He doesn't, and somehow without any logic established behind it, he acts like some sort of deranged human being that is intent on killing Clem.... as if the dog thought like a person "I'm gonna kill this bitch so that she can't take my can away". I'm hoping the thought wasn't "I'm gonna eat her" because I refuse that was on anybody's mind. There was so much shit wrong and completely implausible about the dog behavior that you just know it was written by someone who knows nothing about dogs.

The rules of the world have already established that you don't gain anything from being a boy scout. The guy was dying and your last memory of him was an assault on you and your caretaker. Giving him water wouldn't make him talk in any sensible scenario, and quenching his dying thirst would be a waste of good water.

It's a completely naive thought to believe anything good would come out of it. Sorry.

Good start to the season. I was completely at a loss for words when Omid died near the beginning. I felt like shit because I forgot to grab my gun before getting bottle and thought things would have been different if I had.

Then they had to do that with the dog. Seriously boy, hold on. I got some food here. I ended up killing him after I hoped he would be my new friend.

That stitching scene near the end was just rough. I did love the "Still. Not. Bitten." line from Clem though. She's completely bad ass. I did try to make nice, but that damn doctor pisses me off. I'm gonna spoil Christmas and tell your daughter Santa isn't real! How do you like that? I did miss out on telling off the pregnant lady though.

It's probably Christa that she finds later, though it could be Kenny if Telltale is trolling us.

Loved the episode. I was shocked at Omid biting it right off the bat. Also the dog. Man the whole dog thing. As a dog owner and lover that was a hard hard thing. I felt so sorry for the dog. Never really thought about how a zombie apocalypse would affect pets like that. So far it's living up to season 1 so far.

I figured the dog would hang around for at least a couple episodes, so you'd get the chance to bond with him before Telltale found some way to kill him off. Taking him away that quickly (and making him bite you first) was just as bad.

This man
I just want to hold my dog right now and cry a river.

Dog psychologically is not so simple that you can just generalize what it will or will not do. Animals have been known to do many illogical things, like how there have been many cases where sociable animals attack people for no good reason.

I personally avoided confrontations with the cast, as Clem has seen enough by now that she has to realize that not only doesn't she have the upper hand, you don't want to start shit before it has happened. That's why I didn't say shit to the pregnant gal. I know more than she thinks I know, and she doesn't know shit about me.

I didn't let that Still. Not. Bitten line to fly by though, that was pitch perfect.

Yep. Illogical such as getting bit by a dog over some food...and then leaving the rest of the food and just walking off.

How old is Clem? Didn't Sarah say she was 15? And then I had Clem say "no we're not the same age". I could swear Clem is 12 or 13 in season 2? Or is that off by a lot?

Also the dinner conversation fucking destroyed me. The part where Clem blames herself for getting Lee killed. "I was too young and stupid to do anything" or along those lines. Fucking heartbreaking.

She is probably 11 or late 10s.. She was 9 at the end of season 1. Going by Christa's pregnancy about 6-9 months after the end of season 5 plus the 16 months after that.

This isn't true at all. Dogs react to impulses, impulses that create almost automated responses to any repeat scenario. The reactions themselves are negative or positive based mainly on what the dog has experienced before. Obviously the dog realized Clem wasn't a zombie because she didn't smell like a zombie. There would be no reason for the dog to have energy accumulated because not only does he have plenty of space, he has plenty of flavors in his surrounding. That means the dog won't be a mess in his head, having an inability to control his behavior. Therefore when he accepts Clem's presence and he sits because he's been through the feeding process before. You could argue that maybe his owner was a piece of shit who committed acts of violence on the dog, but the script clearly tells through the photo and through his behavior with Clem, that it is not so. The energy is completely at odds with the outcome. And if he does it for the food, he does it for the food he doesn't do it for Clem's arm or life.

If anything Dog psychology is incredibly simple, as his evolution in dog-human relationship has evolved to the point where his lack of real rationale makes him easy to read for a human. That's why many people will often say that cats have unpredictable behaviour, while dogs are more trustworthy. Most people can read a dog's energy without knowing fuck all about dogs, but it's the little details that you gotta learn. Specially when you plan on dealing with dogs that have a real ability to harm you.

It's normal though that dog behavior in writing is most of the times done so with simple understanding of its nature, and therefore it's not shocking that the folks at Telltalle wrote it this way. It's just a little sad to me, that they used it mainly for a plot device as simple as an arm bite. Could've made it a bit more meaningful.

Finished it a little bit ago. Turned out to be a lot better than I was expecting. Also a bit surprised about how action oriented it turned out to be. I was on the edge of my seat for most of the time I was playing.

Dinner conversation was probably the highlight though. I chose the "I killed him." option and it was really just heart wrenching.

The whole scene with Clem doing her own stitches felt like a punch to the gut too. I'm not usually squeamish when it comes to games but that really got to me. The voice acting at that part was just phenomenal.

I also opted to go with Nick at the end but I'm very curious to see how it turns out with Pete considering he was (assumedly) bitten.

All in all though, I thought All That Remains was outstanding and I feel like Telltale has a pretty good story arc going so far. I hope they can get episode 2 out in a timely matter because that cliffhanger during the "next time on Walking Dead" teaser was just outright harsh lol.

A dog that's desperate for food is actually a lot more likely to turn on a human with food than a well fed dog, even if it's otherwise friendly. That dog saw that can of beans as the most important thing in the entire universe and it absolutely had to have it at all costs, and Clementine was the biggest obstacle between the dog and its meal. Maybe you don't know as much about animals as you think.

She was standing in a river. There's no shortage of water. Some people just like to play the game as though they're good people and not assholes, even to characters who are assholes. It's called being merciful.

Guys, guys, it's not going to be who you think.

My guess?
It's Lily.

Oh shit, you're probably right.

Of all the "presumed dead, but not shown on screen as a corpse" characters, she's the most likely to be cast into a more villainous role - which the setup seems to be implying. Perhaps she's somehow a part of the group behind the ambush at the waterfront?

Overall, great episode. 5 minutes in, and I knew this was going to be just as emotionally gripping as The Walking Dead. No other game this year has given me such goosebumps. The scene with
Sam
was especially heartbreaking - I really thought
that he was a good dog. I found myself thinking "Oh cool, you have a dog in this one - and maybe like, it'll have a chance of dying in every episode unless you're able to save it." Then the fucker bit me.
The "stealth" section felt less necessary, but the payoff was worth it. Very curious what the deal with
Claire
is.
Mentally handicapped? Sheltered to the point where she doesn't know the world has ended? Secret psychopath?
Hopefully the turnaround on this season is faster than past Telltale games. Though if The Wolf Among Us is any indication, we're in for a wait.

I feel like I should have saw the dog thing coming a mile away. There was no way Telltale were just gonna go for the ol' doge trope.

I think Claire is just sheltered a lot. I think the fact that she thinks Clementine is the same age as her points to that.

I deal with dogs day in day out. I've owned dangerous dogs, have done work with dangerous dogs from the shelter, thanks to my gf who volunteers there and loves dog psychology. I hear about that shit so much, sometimes I wanna kill myself. It's cool how now I see dogs though, and these days it pains me how most of the people who own dogs don't actually understand them.

Assholes aren't all bad people, and being merciful isn't always being merciful as if you were shooting for that gold above your head. You don't have to be a boy scout to be a hero, and not all boy scouts are heroes.

Anyway you don't have to take so personal and start implying about who's an asshole playboy. I'm just spitting shit, I didn't want to actually call merciful people crazy.
