So you started on track 6? :)

Edit: This tape has grown on me so much... cant stop listening to it. I liked it the first few listens, but now I cant put it down. Sogood.gif

If I was stranded on an island and had to choose between being music-less or listening to The Weeknd I would probably......
kill myself.

The "Before The Ballons" mixtape is really damn good too. It doesnt have the same vibe or atmosphere as the 2011 tapes, but it is a solid RnB tape.

As I posted earlier in the thread, I really like it, but I'm almost convinced it's nothing to do with The Weeknd and is just someone trying to capitalise on his success. Perhaps.

Speaking of those definitely trying to capitalise on his success, I would also recommend the Johnny Rain mixtape that somebody posted in the Thursday thread before this was made. He annoyed me a little by tagging The Weeknd in all his YouTube videos in a bid to attract hits, but his songs are actually good, with some really interesting production. All I've listened to these past few days is this album, the Balloons trilogy, Before the Balloons and Clams Casino's mastered instrumental LP.

I wish they release a version of Initiation without the auto tune pitch shifting. Like they did with The Morning.

DO WANT

Don't really need the album titles though, they kind of ruin it, but I love the aesthetic of it all.

It's obviously Abel. I dont know how you could get it was someone else.

"House of Balloons is the mixtape you play while getting faded, Thursday is the one you play right when you come back home and you're still pretty faded and Echoes of Silence is what you play at like 4 in the morning when you're starting to sober up. Try it some time."

I dont know....quite a few tracks on House of balloons are dope as shit when you come back home and you're still pretty faded...especially the morning.

The Before the Balloons shit has some stellar stuff. Birthday Suit is probably my favorite, but Love Through Her and Superhero are all awesome as well. Love though her kinda touches on some similar topics from The Zone though. I can see nuggets of his new stuff in the old music.

I can't get enough of this guy really. I dunno what I'm gonna do this year with him not releasing a new mixtape every few months.

I played my mom "DD" on our way from the bart station during christmas and for the first minute she was convinced it was Michael. She thought it was just a remix or something.

Pretty sure it's a fan compilation of his earlier works from a bunch of releases, but it's all him/stuff he's produced.

After listening to this some more there's no way this isn't the best of the 3. So solid all around, might even go and say it's more cohesive than the previous two as well. He's got the meshing of the sounds from track to track down better than ever before.

Sooooo anything been said about that viynl release? Another new stuff from him since EoS?

My biggest hope for a vinyl would be this year's Record Store Day. It's only a month away so my hope is slowly dwindling. No idea about new material. Doubt it.

Dunno if it's been posted somewhere else, but it sounds like Abel just finished remastering:

So an itunes rerelease is for sure. Gotta be a vinyl and CD version coming with that. Sure we'll hear soon.
