Yep. 1/2 pound is legit.
I went off on these. The chipotle spicy mama burger was soo good. This was my go to, I would get 2 every time between classes. Too bad they don't sell it anymore.

That title goes to Wendy's Asiago Chicken sandwich (spicy ofc). I do enjoy the buttermilk chicken sandwich tho, close second for sure.
Edit - Nah wait, chik-fil-a's spicy chicken is #2, then mcdonald's at #3.

The best fast food item is the Angry Whopper. I will not rest until Burger King brings it back. That burger single-handedly caused me to gain about 200 pounds in a week. Such a good burger...No other spicy burger compares. Whenever I see a new spicy burger, I have to try it out but I always end up so disappointed.

Portillos and deep dish pizza are the only things I miss from Chicago. Your picture looks so good I can taste it!

These threads always get funny around the time people start posting pics and descriptions of restaurants they thought were national/international, and not just regional. "You've never heard of MacDaddy's? How is that even possible?" "Um, I just looked it up, MacDaddy's has four locations total, that's how."
I've had to compile some spreadsheets of fast food/fast casual joints recently, and I've recognized a ton of places from my traveling years. But what's more, I recognized plenty of places I never even saw while traveling, but they've been name-dropped as the burger holy grail by people on NeoGAF only to get replies of, "...who?"
Of course, most folks here are familiar with Wendy's. But yeah, we'll inevitably veer into other stuff.

Wendy's is great...I love the double stacks...however there's a regional chain (Culver's Custard) who's burgers are far superior.

Culver's is incredible.
Chic-fil-a is quite good but mighty overrated. But still head and shoulders over most of the competition.
Their chicken is better than Chic-fil-a's as well. Great stuff for what it is.

Especially if you order it soaked.

My Wendy's tends to overcook the thinner patties like for doublestack or junior bacon cheeseburger, so I usually get a single. Double is good too, but I never want that much food. I just wish they'd go back to their old fries; things haven't been the same since they went to "natural cut."

god fuckin dammit that looks so fucking good, I miss having a portillos around
its blasphemy but i used to get the hot dogs veggie style, they were like $1 each which was an amazing value as a college student considering just how many fucking ingredients are in a chicago hot dog. filled me up like crazy plus it was super healthy and cheap.

Wendy's and In-n-Out are the only drive-through burgers I really like. But when I order Wendy's I don't get pickles, because they taste odd to me. There's still a lot of cucumber flavor to them.
Portillo's is hands down the best fast food place I've ever been to. By a mile.

Wendy's switched to bread-and-butter pickles a little while back and I have no idea why.

I always order no pickles. They ruin the buns if you have them on there IMO.

I had the non spicy one and it wasn't anywhere close to Chick-fil-A. I don't know how the spicy one holds up though. I don't get spicy chicken sandwiches.
Conformity is fine when you're right, though.
Seeing as this topic comes up every other week, I'm going to put all of my thoughts together so I can copy and paste it in the future.
#1. I agree Wendy's is probably the tightest all around menu for fast food places around here. The burgers are a good size, well made, with fresh vegetables when appropriate. They have little things like chili and baked potatoes. Their standard $1-$1.50 sandwiches are actually substantial, and they have the best chicken nuggets
#2. Chik Fil A. Everything about it is excellent. The food is always made right, the service is better than most sit down restaurants. The problem is they only sell chicken
#3. Boston Market. This place is almost fast casual, selling things like baked chicken, meatloaf, roast turkey, etc. It's kind of like drivethru cafeteria food
#4. Fazoli's. This is a fast food Italian place in my area. It's nice for something different from regular fast stuff, but just sloppy. It's like ordering the lasagna from a little pizza place
#5. Hardee's has killer breakfast and burgers, a huge varied menu of both (even turkey burgers to shave some calories off a meal), but the quality can vary greatly from location to location. I don't care for their chicken and I find it overpriced anyways
#6. Arby's. Good selection. The shaved-meat sandwiches are a nice change of pace for fast food and really good. They offer other things like deli sandwiches but they're only so-so. And although the shaved stuff is good they all end up tasting the same after the first few bites - whether it's roast beef, turkey, whatever
#7. Burger King. They've stepped up in the past two years here in my area by improving their fries and offering more variety with the sandwiches. But everything still has that really fast foody quality, and it's all heavy with grease
#8. Taco Bell. It seems like they just mix and match a handful of ingredients and flour or corn based containers, but so good, so cheap, really fast, and still open when the bars and clubs close. The problem for me is that I can't eat it sober. 9/10 gourmet meal when I'm half in the bag, but just a step above microwaved 7-11 food when I'm sober

Their hot dogs, especially the Chicago Style, are really good but the highlight food for me from this establishment is actually the fries. They're the greasy, not-good-at-all for you kind of fries but they're sooo good plain or with mustard.

The Jr. Bacon Cheese at Wendy's is the most perfect value meal burger of all major chains. I don't eat fast food often but that is one I sometimes grab as a mid day pickmeup during a shitty day in a shitty week.
In-N-Out's Double Double remains the the greatest of all fast food burgers though. As much as Shake Shack tries they will never match it. Shame about their (and Wendy's) fries though.

Yep. They use it to season their breakfast meats. They switch to salt & pepper for lunch meats.
