The Wii U's 30 cent promotion is ending...

Of course it was a success, the games were basically free.

I downloaded Balloon Fight without hesitation knowing that I probably wouldn't play it too much as I have other games to play.

I downloaded all of them because why not???

(yet to get Donkey Kong though)

I got Fire Emblem, Mother 2, Super Metroid and Kirby. All the other games I already had through the 3DS ambassador program, so I didn't bother with those. All in all a great promotion, very satisfied.

Wish they would keep doing it. :(

I would buy anything at 30c, even if I didn't want it I'd just get it anyway lol. Would just be a nice little thing they could do for Wii U owners.

They should do sales like this for shitty games out there that no one wants to pay $8 for, like Vegas Stakes. I'd buy that but not for anywhere near $8.

Since the rationale was to celebrate the Famicom's 30th anniversary, I was really hoping they'd announce a second round after Donkey Kong to finish off the year.

I got them all except Balloon Fight and F-Zero (wasn't paying attention yet, shame I missed F-Zero), and I was pleased with all of them save Yoshi. Super Metroid alone was a great bone to throw fans.

It was a cool little promotion, but I'm really curious about why Super Metroid was dumped in with all the lesser titles (I love Balloon Fight and Kirby but they've both been re-released so many times it doesn't matter at this point). Not that I'm complaining obviously, but that's one of the games that less people would fuss about paying 8 dollars for; Nintendo could have just thrown out Super Mario Bros. again for the bajillionth time in its place and no one would have batted an eye

I guess other m really did kill metroid

To be honest I just thought it was our (as in English) 'big' title to take the place of the Mother 2 Japan got.

They knew we'd bitch that they got Mother 2 and we got some random shit so they gave us a very beloved/one of the best titles ever type thing.

Well, 30 cents is kind of extreme, but I actually would like to see some NES games go for cheaper. I don't need something like SMB to be $1, but that's about how much games like Balloon Flight or Donkey Kong should be (hell, Donkey Kong really should be replaced by the "arcade" edition.) They're just not substantial enough to justify even $5 for, even if Zelda or SMB can be argued as such.

I loved the promotion and picked up everything except Balloon Fight and Yoshi. This is the perfect way sell some of the early games that came out in a system's life. I doubt I ever would have picked up F-Zero or Donkey Kong if it weren't for this program.

I hope they continue it with a new slate of titles to finish out the year or start fresh next year. It doesn't quite compensate for the fact that they haven't released much of anything for their home consoles in two years, but it's still nice.

I'll never buy a Virtual Console game again unless it hits 30 cents

basically this.

i bought them all, even the ones i didn't want. Ir kept me co.ing back to the store looking for stuff.

You'd think all 3 manufacturers would have worked out by now that most of us would go digital if the price was right.

I only purchased Super Metroid. I wish Nintendo would renew the license with Mike Tyson and re-release Mike Tyson's Punchout.

Not until he can beat Glass Joe.

Though I do wish they'd stop selling it as "featuring Mr Dream" or whatever, it's like they think he actually matters or that something HAD to replace Mike Tyson in the name.
