That's because the company hasn't mentioned retail version drm yet either. They've mentioned in the past that they'd prefer DRM Free, but their publishers think otherwise.Linkzg said:that little guide in the OP doesn't mention the retail version drm. what is going on with that? no drm? steamworks?

Yeah, it's Atari again this time, and Namco Bandai in Europe.Gully State said:Who's publishing the retail version in NA? Wasn't it Atari last time?

THAT IS the way to promote your store. Not by breaking your own client, restricting your new marketplace to some regions, higher price in every place that is not the US, etc.
New store a few weeks ago (even when they marketed it horribly), releasing steadily very popular games, with good prices, extras, no drm, and making preordering available for a huge release, with a very good price point for a digital deluxe edition, quite nice preordering extras and something to compensate those buyers who have to pay a higher price due to their currency, in this case, in-store credit.
Valve could take notes too, but they're making shit loads of money so I guess they won't care.

Archie said:The thing that impresses me the most about this release is CDProjekt's multifaceted approach. You have something for Steam fanboys, Steam haters and DD haters. The consumer wins in the process. Lots of companies could learn a lesson or two.
Also too busy giving pre-order incentives to Gamestop and then complaining when they lose sales to preorders as if it isn't the same company. :lolsubversus said:they're too big and corporate.

Absolutely this. The options available here means everyone wins in the end. Unlike exclusive GS dlc preorders and shit.Archie said:The thing that impresses me the most about this release is CDProjekt's multifaceted approach. The GoG one is obviously better. I mean, you get a free game with it and you don't have to deal with Steam Cloud. You also don't have to be annoyed by achievement messages and have DRM on your game.Mrbob said:Damn I'm torn between a Steam and GoG pre order right now. Both are awesome. Steam cloud support might push me the way of Steam though. That is awesome.
I never buy games off Steam if it's an option, but I did for this. I fully support DRM free software, so my recommendation is for GoG, but I totally understand the appeal of the Steam version.Mrbob said:Damn I'm torn between a Steam and GoG pre order right now. We don't know if they are going to censor anything this time, there is nudity but what we've seen so far is ok for an M/18+ game anyway, don't think they will censor anything in NA this time, well, I still don't understand why they did it for Witcher 1.Meier said:Is there a chance the digital version may be uncensored since they're not dealing with sitting on store shelves?

I have the Enhanced Edition from Steam and it doesn't seemed censored. But I'm only about 5 hours in.subversus said:there was a full frontal nudity and it's a big no-no for NA. Heads blown off and severed body parts are ok, but a nude women will get you AO rating for sure! I still don't get this NA phenomenon, it's pretty much the opposite in Europe.
Zaraki_Kenpachi said:Seriously, this is hard to decide which version. Is anyone ballsy enough to spend $130 for the collector's?
Their news feed auto-posts stories. Remember when it was showing the Counter Strike murderer guy for CS:S's newsfeed?RJT said:How awesome is CD Projekt? So awesome...
Now Valve, do the right thing and advertise the GOG version on the Steam news feed. Be awesome like that. I know you can, when you want to...

Same. I'm kind of sad that they went with a cat helmet (I KNOW) edition since I'd love to have just about everything else in the package.Diomedeskun said:I was just about to preorder the GOG version, but looking at the "feelies," I would love physical versions of the bonus materials.
