The Witcher 3 endings (spoilers)

I got the following ending. Absolutely loved it when Ciri revealed herself in the tavern. Such a powerful turn of events!

- Ciri Witcher
- Geralt with Triss
- Radovid dead, with Emhyr winning the war
- Cerys ruler of Skellige

Mine was Geralt alone, Ciri witcher-ing and Emhyr winning. Loved every second of it and it felt really satisfying and coherent.

Her as the empress doesn't seem right. Ciri wanted to be free as seen in all the quests related to her and Geralt. She wanted the witcher life.

I got the ending where Geralt is retired with Triss in a bath tub I think, and Siri is out there kicking ass as a witcher with a sword I delivered her. I really liked how the game wrapped up

100% right OP. Was the ending I got and the one that felt the most 'right'. Obv dead would of sucked, but I also didn't think the 'best' ending really suited as well. I know over the course of the game they were showing her grow as a character and struggle with the idea of becoming Empress, but I didn't really buy it.

She was most happy alongside Geralt, kicking ass, taking some names and stirring up the occasional bit of trouble.

I don't know why but just the fact that the "bad" ending exists makes me sad even though I got another one... It sounds so depressing :(

I think it actually soured me a little bit. I like Geralt too much as a character.

I think my ending didn't have either Yen or Triss... Did I fuck up? Should I not have banged both of them?

Ciri surviving and getting the sword named Swallow was pretty awesome though.

If you tell both Triss and Yen you love them they will pretend to want to have 3 way sex but in actuality they tie you to a bed and leave you there until Dandelion frees you. If you try talk to either of them about it they both turn you down and claim they are moving on from you. So yeah just go with one.

Edit: Sidenote, if you have sex with Keira Metz or Shani (if you have hearts of stone) it doesn't effect your ending. Only sleeping with both Triss and Yen effect the game.

The Ciri is a Witcher ending broke my heart for a solid minute. With Geralt watching Ciri walk in to the tower... and then going to Emhyr and tell him she's dead... I couldn't believe the game had me go through all that only for her to die. Once it gave me control of Geralt again, I knew she was alive. It was a great feeling picking up the sword and going to the inn. I legit cannot imagine a better ending to that game.

I know a lot of people like Ciri becoming Empress and all that but to me, the true ending will always be her becoming a Witcher and following in Geralt's footsteps.

i got the sad, terrible ending...i wasn't trying for it at all, i always try to go for the good endings but holy shit that ending really put a depressing end on that story. i watched the other endings, but they don't feel like the real ending, sort of like alternate endings on a DVD. i'm sorry i couldn't give you more confidence, ciri.

Just finished my first play-through at the weekend. Ciri chose to become Empress. Yennefer and Geralt lived happily ever after. I thought it was a wonderful ending. I tried to play Geralt as a proud, solid, reliable father figure who always let Ciri make her own decisions about her future. It felt like the right thing to do. Then their last conversation, as they stood looking at the Nilfgaard soldiers and the reality sunk in for Geralt, felt perfect,

Ciri. "You'll not try and force me to stay?"

Geralt. "I risked everything to find you, but I'd never force you to do anything."

C. "It doesn't have to be goodbye..."

G. "Of course not. If you need me, you know where to find me."

C. "...you can't stay at Kaer Morhen forever..."

G. "That doesn't matter...you'll still know where to find me..."

My only complaint with the story is that some choices completly lock out quests/side-quests.
While playing Withcer 3 I always was afraid to make a mistake (in story/choice)

For me, it's a good thing that you're choices have consequences. It gives them meaning.

Narrative wise, Ciri Witcher ending is a masterpiece and the best of them, even if it id not the "best ending".

But for Ciri witcher ending to work the bad ending needs to exist, so you fear that you may have gotten it.

Empress ending works the best to me. Right amount of bittersweetness. Witcher ending is way too saccharine and on the nose. Even the bad ending is better.

I actually got the bad ending, loaded up a save, and went back for the Witcher ending before moving on to HoS. Definitely the "best" one in my opinion. I really hope Ciri is the MC of Witcher 4. This game sets her up perfectly.

That a good thing. The books ended on a slightly open note but it had always maintain the same themes. CD Pjt Red did a good job overall crafting their own storylines with where the books left off.

That being said I did like the "bad" ending the most :)

I thought I had made the 'right' choices by letting Ciri be independent but apparently I didn't do enough. I ended up with the bad ending and after sinking in all that time and wanting them to get out of this together it was very sad.

In the epilogue when Geralt looks for Ciri's medallion and the game ends with him in the hut getting overwhelmed with monsters felt devastating. I thought this is horrible ending for Geralt but it was extremely well done. Not often does a game make me feel something during the ending, and for the I have to say CD Projekt did and amazing job. They did such a good job of developing the characters and world that you really do care and want things to work out.

I'm ready to dive back in on new game+ and have things work out better this time!
