It's my understanding that the content is basically done. The extra time is for polish and fixing serious bug issues.

But, who knows, really.
 
Maybe the downgrade is real?

as long as there is a good sli profile I don't care
 
The minimum requirements to me look extremely high.
Unless that minimum will still deliver overall good performance and looks, like for example it did in Crysis 2 IIRC.
 
Quite of jump, but they cancelled PS3/360 years ago that will bring minimum requirement higher.

Only thing I need is a new GPU, still got GTX570 here. I think I'll wait to see this and GTA require more than 4GB or not.

Do they? Keep in mind that this is a PS4/XB1/PC only title, it seems reasonable to me.

yup. if this is not marketing for the hardcore to not be worried, sounds great for where they stand
 
It looks like the minimum will probably offer a better experience than either console. If the 660 is starting to be the "minimum" for some games, maybe I should at least aim for something stronger for my first GPU.

Cause originally it was supposed to be out next month, so they know what it's gonna take to run it now.

Also, they're giving journalists hands on time with the game this month, so they've gotta feel pretty good about where the performance is at and going to be at after waiting this long.
 
Intel's minimum required processor is easily beating AMD's recommended choice in 90% of games, makes a lot of sense... right?

Other than that, those seem very reasonable.
 
Hopefully ultra settings will be much, much more demanding.
I want a PC crusher.

This. I just got a new rig on the way especially for this new wave of 2015 games.
Bring it on can't wait! Haven't had an upgrade in forever, the graphics whore in me beckons...
 
My poor poor 560Ti...
Welp I will have to wait until I upgrade to continue Geralt's adventures although I already have the Collector's Edition pre-ordered :)

Same GPU here (OC a little), but I'm going to wait and see how it runs first. With the right settings, this card has been amazing for the price, and I want to see what it does. If it doesn't cut it, it only takes a day or two to ship a new one...no big deal.
 
I think they're reasonable enough. My rig should be ok for the minimum/medium settings, but I think I'll play it on a PS4 anyway.
 
Well I guess that makes the decision for me of whether I upgrade to the 760 or 770, since I was already trying to decide between the two.

There is no downside in having higher quality presets for those who have the audacity of upgrading their PCs often, it does not prevent anyone else with weaker machines to enjoy the game as well as they PC enable them. I don't think ubersampling 2.0 will be back but the aforementioned improvements should be extremely taxing, and CDPR have talked about tessellation and better post-process as well.

Consoles also use Physx but only the basic stuff. The more impressive Physx effects require CUDA.
 
An overclocked i5-2500K should be able to handle this game pretty well, correct? (ie not minimum settings)

I also have a 770 4GB card.
 
Would really like to know what settings console will have since my PC is below recommended but above minimum.
 
Seems pretty reasonable, though I was hoping it'd be like Mordor and have a crazy low minimum so I could play it sooner. Ah well, this gives me plenty of time to fully play through the first two before having to upgrade my 5850.
 
Still rocking my 69502GB Dirt 3 Edition.

Rest of my rig is a 3770k, 16GB ram on 8.1 though.



I will be buying the Witcher 3 on PS4 (providing it's not the disaster of a game some insiders have said it will be)


Then when we get some single GPUs that can play games like this and Ryse at 4K with ease, I will upgrade along with Occulus and a 4K PC monitor(Gsync?) to go along side my 65" 4K Curved.
 
That's not bad. And I'm betting that an Intel i7-920 would be fine still.

Minimum GPU requirements are basically PS4-level, so these are absolutely 'next-gen' requirements. Surprised that they go with a 770 and not a 780 for Recommended, though, especially when recommending an AMD 290.

Probably overthinking it.

EDIT: When did this game get delayed to? May?
 
By the way, I assume everyone knows this but "recommended" requirements usually do not target 60fps.
If a 770 is required for 30 ish fps at high settings then I don't think there will be a single GPU capable of maxing the game out at 60fps even at a mainstream res of 1080p.

Which is very, very good news.
 
Need another 2GB of ram but otherwise I scraped by. Maybe I'll upgrade a little or maybe I'll just grab it on PS4 and double dip later.
