There is a bug in my DS (no, not the software kind)

At first I just thought it was a dead pixel, which wouldn't be too surprising as my DS phat here already has one. However it was then I noticed that "it" was moving and I realized a bug had somehow wandered into the top screen of my DS. The guy doesn't do much, just scurries back and forth across the screen. Occasionally, it walks off screen completely but it always comes back. Not sure what I can do but wait for it to die; hopefully it doesn't die while on screen or somewhere vital.

I post this because I haven't ever heard of a bug getting inside the DS's screen before (though its not too implausible). Anyone else have this sort of situation before?

they are called mites and they like warm places.

vaccum your floors and buy new sheets.

yes i have had a bug in my shit before

How do you even live with that?!

If a bug was in my screen, i would go mental. I would shake the DS and do everything to try get the bug out even if i do break it. I cant stand broken pixels and i certainly wont be able to handle a bug running around whie i play games

I actually have this problem on my PSP that I replaced the faceplate on. Evidently I left enough room for bugs to get in there (and they like the light).

Very distracting, even worse than dead pixels.

Sounds like you're out of luck.
It's as infuriating as when I accidentally pulled the entire drawstring out of the hood in my hoodie in class today. I can't feed the string back through the hood so....lol

I had one on my psp screen. He died after a few days and after that dissapeared after some time :p

Wait, does the ban on puns stretch over to Gaming side too? Please say no :lol
I don't think people are as antsy about it over here. But they mite be; I'm not really very caught up.

It's funny because the term "bug" actually comes from actual bugs which got into the big supercomputers of the early days, messing up the calculations.

Once things like transistors and solid state chips were developed, actual bugs weren't really a threat any more, but the name stuck.

Attach a safety pin to the end of the string, it's a lot easier to work that through with your fingers since it gives you something to push through.

i hope it does

on that note, someone please link me to the announcement about puns finally being banned, it will make me feel warm and fuzzy

A few years ago I found myself fighting with a bee that kept trying to enter a hole on the side of my webcam (and did it twice, I had to shake it off the cam to get it out). I drove the fucker out of my window multiple times, but it kept coming back every time I opened the window back (hoping it was gone, it was a freakin' hot day and I couldn't stay with my windows closed). It was a weird experience, that bee looked creepily obsessed (it was a black Logitech cam, by the way: I can't remember the model and have no idea why the hell it had a hole on its side...
I later used some duct-tape to close it
).

You need to be punished.

haha i had the same thing happen on my old pc monitor. at first i also thought it was a dead pixel but then it started moving, doing laps from on screen to off screen. luckily it wound up dying off screen or escaping.

Looks like a peice of dust behind the screen, I had that in my original DS. Of course, if it's moving around inside there that probably isn't the case.

Just wait for it to die, and hopefully it chooses a grave away from the screen.

Living too, wonder what type of bug it is?

I remember reading about very, very small yellow bugs that would get behind handheld screens. I encountered them a few times. Wonder if they are the same type as those that get inside old book pages...

Let's see some close-ups and Wikipedia articles! :D
