I'd say most SHIELD fans also watch Arrow and viceversa. I happen to prefer the Marvel universe; if I bitch about AoS is because I see a smaller show in a tiny network kicking Marvel/Disney's ass in pretty all fronts. I want AoS to be as good as Arrow, if not better.
As someone who doesn't know what Arrow is, its probably the way some keep bringing it up in threads for the MU and the show.
I dunno, I haven't even really heard of it until people kept name dropping it. But if its on CW then that makes sense, I watch nothing on that network and never have.

It's not really "console war crap" to want the only other superhero show to live up to its own potential, which is what personally i always assume people are meaning when they bring up Arrow into SHIELD conversations.
The show squandered any leftover hype it gained post Avengers so fast it's not even funny.
Dat Hulkbuster indeed though. Also i like the Quicksilver concept. Manages to work in one of his modern costume and keep some white hair without him looking goofy as fuck like in Days of Singer Past.

I somewhat expect/hope Marvel to give a lot of freedom to Netflix so they can do something grittier than AoS. Loeb can go suck a lemon. If they ruin Jessica Jones I'll riot naked on the streets.

I've actually enjoyed the past three episodes! I mean, they were deeply flawed (mostly due to subpar writing), but they were decent fun and way ahead of the rest in terms of quality.

I participate in both the Arrow and AoS threads and am probably the most vocal defender of AoS in the AoS thread and I don't shit up the Arrow thread. There's no need to because aside from being Comic properties there's enough differences on the TV side of things that it's silly to make in-depth comparisons.
I've never understood the point in going into tv show threads just to trash the show though. Others want to get their opinions out regardless I guess.

So legitimate question, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch are Magneto's kids, right? But Marvel can't actually use Magneto in their movies, do you think they'll mention him or just avoid their origins altogether?
I think the entire thing with Fox makes it so they can't mention Magneto or mutants period.

It arguably began with the Blade movies, but Singer's X-Men and Raimi's Spider-Man were successful enough to show that comic book movies could be insanely profitable.
It's no coincidence that X-Men and Spider-Man were also the leads for the Ultimate line, which was created to rewrite the characters for easier live-action adaptations. As we all know, the Ultimates eventually had a significant influence on the Avengers.

They went without being Magnetos kids for like 25 years in the comic books (their origin was added in much later) so they'll probably just go with the way they were back then.
