Things in video games that just make you laugh

http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Portal

I found a link with most (if not all) of the material in Portal, there are some spoilers but it's got to be some of the funniest material to make it in a game.

"Certain objects may be vital to your success. If at first you don't succeed, you fail. And the test will be terminated."

"Please move quickly to the chamber lock as the effects of prolonged exposure to the button are not part of this test."

"Please note, we have added a consequence for failure. Any contact with the chamber floor will result in an unsatisfactory mark on your official testing record, followed by death. Good luck."

"The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube cannot speak. In the event that the weighted companion cube does speak, the Enrichment Center urges you to disregard its advice."

"I'd just like to point out that you were given every opportunity to succeed. There was even going to be a party for you. A big party that all your friends were invited to. I invited your best friend the companion cube. Of course, he couldn't come because you murdered him. All your other friends couldn't come either because you don't have any other friends because of how unlikable you are. It says so here in your personnel file: Unlikable. Liked by no one. A bitter, unlikable loner whose passing shall not be mourned. SHALL. NOT. BE. MOURNED. That's exactly what it says. Very formal. Very official. It also says you're adopted, so that's funny too."

Wow. It looks bad, it's acted bad... I can't tell what console it's on. It's better than PSone, but way too ugly and amateur to be PS2-era... *scratches head*

That's the arcade version.

Mortal Kombat 4 was on PC, N64, PSX, and, later, DC (as Mortal Kombat Gold), but the arcade one has the best graphics. And yeah, the game definitely has some of the funniest endings ever, no question about it.

(I do like the Duke Nukem 2 intro, as quoted in the first post, though... funny stuff. :))

Dialogue from the Phoenix Wright games:

From Trials and Tribulations:
Franziska: Are...
Edgeworth: ...you...
Judge: High! That girl is really high above the bridge!

Godot: You did it, didn't you?
Ron: Yes.
Phoenix: ....what?
Ron: Er...I mean no! No no no no no! I didn't do it!
Judge: For a second, I thought we had set the record for the shortest trial ever.

Ridiculous action set pieces...like (ie: The Twin Snakes) Solid Snake jumping on top of and off of an air-to-surface missile for added leverage to pull the trigger of shoulder fired Stinger missile launcher at Hind-D helicopter - all this is after sending the missile in question spiraling out of control behind him.

Crap like that always makes me laugh and roll my eyes...like, "Oh God...!" :lol

I loled a few minutes ago during Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition. I'm playing with the costumes that were originally available only on the PS2 version.

I heard Ashley screaming, said "God damn it!", and turned around to go save her, but when I got there, the Ganado trying to carry her off and her were both lying on the ground. The suit of armor she wears makes her too heavy to be carried off, so he just kept getting back up and grabbing her and falling back to the ground and dropping her. I watched him do it for a good minute or so.

I have to admit, I have laughed at/with him a few times, which wasn't expected at all.

This has a couple good fanboy jokes in it. The whole game had good jokes, but it became tiring to read them all after some time. In smalll doses it was cool.

Also the ladder.

and Tree Frog.

Oh, and becoming a fluffer on a porno set in Fallout 2.
"you have been poisoned"

Frog getting out of jail in Chrono Trigger as a kid was funny too.
"My bellybutton!"

Psychonaughts Milkman stage in general.

Alright I need to get this. :lol :lol

Just about everything in "Dungeon Keeper 2" but especially the random disco dancing when a monster wins in one of your casinos, and the random comments the narrator keeps saying, like:

"One of your goblins can do a really good impression of you... he can even do the ears".

Pretty much ALL the dialogue in Gears of War.
The buddy-moves in Army of Two (especially air guitar and head butting)
Oh, and this from Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines:

Pretty much everything in No One Lives Forever, specifically henchmen conversations and notes. The notes that add nothing except humour are awesome, such as different departments getting delivery of shit they don't need, or employees purposely hiding essential equipment or influx of new henchmen from rival organisations.

In Resident Evil 4, the first time I heard (and saw) the guy with the big pitchfork "te voy hacer picadillo"

I could'n stop laughing, that was really hilarious :D

One of the funniest video gaming moments for me was in Super Mario Galaxy's Toy Galaxy where Toad is hugging this huge cake with a speech bubble above his head saying "MMmmmmmm cake". Hilarious.

The Toad Brigade kicks ass. :D

in God Hand, when you beat Shannon for the first time and she
escapes in a bus

in Morrowind for Xbox, when you kill a rat, it explodes

some of the endings in Star Fox Command
Krystal dating Panther, Fox and Falco joining "G-Zero" racing

Most of the stuff Nick Bruty's been involved with has been hilarious. EWJ, MDK, Giants, A&D... I don't think I've laughed so hard at any other games as I did at those.

Tekken 3, Force Mode, whenever you pick up a chicken.

*gulp* CHICK-ENNNNNNNnnnnnuh.

Kills me every time. Its the most emphatic chicken in the world.

Where is the Disgaea love? Well, it is kind of off topic since Disgaea is supposed to make you laugh.

Flonne: Laharl, why are you screaming?
Laharl: I, I don't know why... But for some apparent reason, I can't stand women with sexy bodies. On a side note, flat-chested girls like you have absolutely no effect on me.
Etna & Flonne:[angry] Well, excuse us for being flat!!

Flonne Quotes:
Nice to meet you. I'm an assassin.

The Overlord of the Netherworld died by choking on a pretzel!?

Don't worry! Splitting into 10 means that his love is divided 10 ways! We cannot possibly lose to someone like that!

I heart Flonne.

Portal

Earthworm jim

the behaviours of the citizens in Crackdown. After you beat a certain amount of the bosses in an area the populace all of a sudden dont take any shit. I remember watching a street and seeing bad guys drive up to shoot me running over a few citizens in the way. they hopped out the cars started shooting and the citizens bum rushed them! I laughed so hard my girlfriend thought I had lost it, especially when one of the guys was about to throw a grenade got knocked out by some woman and then blew up everyone. That game is all about the details.

Didnt dig uncharted too much, but it had some good bits. There is one part where there is a door and to the left of the door a sort of ledge that you can use to sneak up on the dudes. some guy sees me throws a grenade it hits the wall bounces back and lands between his buddies legs. the guy looks down and I swear he is about to say motherfu- when it goes off.

Godhand, pure awesome :lol
Resident Evil 4 was a constant laugh fest :lol, so fucking ridiculous :lol
Resident Evil 1 was so cheesy, the intro is just priceless.
Lucastarts games obviously.

Also, engrish... suffer like g did :lol

PS: I almost forgot about GTA games, omg I laughed so hard during the entire games, just remembering the characters makes me laugh again :lol

Army of Two, when you have to use a big-ass missile to blow down a small door.

Or.... when the two characters are able to rip steel doors directly off of a ship's hull.
The ship door wasn't that small. Like the size of a gamestop.

Or Clyde. That was funny in a good way because even your characters don't know what the fuck he is saying.

Full of FUNNY.
Well he seems excited. Look at that big ass exclamation point above his head.
mag03.jpg

He's so excited in fact, he doesn't even care that he's looking at it upside down. You have to admire that kind of enthusiasm. I left him alone for awhile.

I came back an hour later and this is what I saw. Son of a bitch! That was my magazine. I sure as hell ain't touching it now!

:lol

Come to think of it I don't remember ever actually laughing while playing a game. Then again you can count with the fingers on one hand the times I laughed while watching a movie too.

In my opinion people only actually "laugh out loud" when they are in the presence of other people. I mean how else can some of the laughter seen in cinemas/theaters be explained?

I'm not humorously frigid though. I find lots of things funny. Doesn't mean I actually laugh all that often.

EDIT: Off the top of my head though KOTOR seems to be a good choice of funny dialogue from time to time. I'm not just talking about HK-47 either but I guess whoever played it knows that.

"We must remind you that the weighted companion cube cannot speak. In the unlikely event that it does speak, we suggest that you ignore it's advice."

Also, the merchant in Resident Evil 4. Both his dialogue and the hilarious locations you would find him.
