I just spent a week and a half in amsterdam. Uhh, I could give you recommendations on coffeeshops.
The Abraxas is probably my favorite.
Walking aroud the redlight at night is really fun, as someone else said. It's funny watching some of the guys/groups of guys interact with the hookers. Also, skip the expensive live sex shows and go to the strip tease place. Same stuff, but a lot cheaper.
Oh, and most hotels don't have airconditioning, unless you're paying upwards of 200euros or more.
Go to the Rijkmuseum(sp??) for the showing of Rembrandt's ''Nightwatch''......the presentation of the painting is unbelievable. They use lighting to make the painting come alive and look 3D and whatnot.
Keep a good map on you AT ALL TIMES. It's a f*ckin hard as hell city to navigate, despite how relatively small it is, becuase of the layout, IMO. It took me a good few days to just get used to where everything is in relation to each other.

I tried several weed/hash cakes, or ''space cakes'', and none of them did anything for me. And before this trip I'd only smoked weed twice.Don't eat weed cake, it could kill a horse and it's basically a sedative. Can't do shit all after weed cake even speaking is hard. I saw some highschoolers from Britain come over and they all got 1 piece each while the lady recommended half each, I was going to warn them but i didn't want to ruin the surprise.
