It wouldn't surprise me to see some of PTs concepts get taken into the next Silent Hill, but I doubt it will be anywhere near the quality that Silent Hills could have been under Kojima

Whatever the next Silent Hill game is (assuming there even is one) likely won't come close to what Silent Hills could have been. I'm not even all that high on Kojima's games (though I do like some of his batshit crazy ideas and think he could have done some really cool things in Silent Hills), but having him on the project at least showed that Konami was really serious about it, and that's even without considering having Del Toro and Reedus on the project.

Whatever the next Silent Hill game may be won't get the same treatment from Konami as a Kojima directed game would. It's as simple as that.

Yeah, I thought it would be fun to talk about (or not fun). I watched a video review on the HD collection by an annoyed youtuber who mentioned the projected was handed over to some bullshit company. I can't even remember the name, but I know it spoke low of their treatment of the series.

Pretty much what I assumed. Despite Kojipro's perfect batting record, the risk is probably too great after looking at Castlevania's and Neverdead's numbers.

They haven't put the money or effort into this series in a long time. Current practices indicate that nothing about that will change. Look how they treated their two most revered titles in the series for the HD collection.

For what it's worth, I actually like Downpour, but it was pretty obvious that the budget was tight, it was buggy as heck and was never really fixed, and barely promoted. So I guess you can expect more of that.

How can the industry spend millions of dollars on games and not have some sort of ace up its sleeve. There's nothing there to scratch the surface. What predictable mess will we see without this? That's the question. All we can do is wait until something comes out that can replace whatever Konami replaces it with.

There is no replacement. Though Konami might slap a silent hill image on one of their gambling machines. That's about the most I'd expect.

Best case scenario is Konami leaves the gaming industry, sells off the IPs(hopefully to Sony) and Fox Engine since the CEO is nuts.

Then they hire Kojima, his team, and Del Toro to make the game that we all deserve.

Most likely, we will probably get another terrible Silent Hill game from a random western developer or nothing at all which I'd honestly prefer at this point.
