Third party moving from PS4 to Nintendo Switch

Mmmh? PS4 ports to the Switch, I can believe that, but why would they cancel games on PS4, it's like... The best selling console, so... Why?!

Are we sure he doesn't mean ports?!

This seems like a translation issue. I don't see a dev moving away from PS4 to Switch. But a port from a PS4 to Switch, sure that makes sense.
Yeah, Switch might well expand any PS4 games into a portable marketplace without requiring too serious of downgrades, doubly so if Nintendo does something like ups the RAM to 8 GB before it's actually out, though I suspect that would either be too late or the rumors are wrong/outdated on dev kits.

You're not looking at worldwide geared software here. The PS4 is doing fairly shitty in Japan. The next Nintendo handheld would be a much safer bet.

These "news." #LMAO

And then people have their expectations broken. Of course they do.

The source doesn't make Shit up.

I said yesterday that I could definitely see the Vita devs porting their games to PS4 moving away from PS4 and going to Switch. I'd guess this is much more likely than any major devs.

Emily Rogers and Laura Dale (who have both proven to be correct about the Switch) are saying that it has a touchscreen, so...

on top of that peeps are expected to just jump from dual-screen to a single screen... >_> IMO, Nintendo should just release a smartphone version of Switch in Japan or something.

The Nintendo Switch will have success, it has a lot going for it, specially the portability aspect and the library output which could be a lot better but is something we have yet to see.

It's a journalist saying what someone told him. Problem is that people like to take this and run away with whatever that want to believe.

Those Vita devs have to go somewhere. :P

Portable gaming – yes.

But not this:

NS isn't successor of 3DS.

What monstrosity is that? LOL
Trailer managed to make it look semi portable.

Riiiiiight. Ok..

Ports? Sure. But no developer has much reason to exclusively move to ANY of the three consoles right now. Multiplat is better for pretty much everything with this current state of the market.

Doesn't sound like a major deal breaker really, they play on a single screen with a phone and tablet already.

In JP? Maybe Im wrong but as far as I remember Vita has more upcoming, and of course launched, games for japanese gamers than PS4.
Based on tgs announcements and support not really a lot of companies are dropping their vita versions of games and the vita's sales are in the pits anyway.

So much bullshit in this comment lmao.

At least be more informed.

so, you think Japan is gonna eat Switch up? Going from 3DS, to a 'smartphone-like' portable console that's nothing like a smartphone, and bigger than a smartphone, and more expensive than the 3DS...? >_>

just comparing Switch to 3DS you are losing features, but paying more... No dual-screen, no 3D. Mess.

I am watching worldwide, of course. I know the PS4 isn't doing great in Japan, but it's doing better than the Wii U... even though it launched a year after!

It must be some VITA ports, obviously. The VITA is doing OK in Japan but not that great, would not be a bad idea to port games on the Switch, yeah.

When was 3D a huge incentive?

Something in the architecture of the NX might be easier to port from PC. The fact the the NX is a Nvidia base graphic and majority of pc games run better on Nvidia base graphic card may be a reason. It's easier to port something that almost identical in architecture.

I haven't seen anything on the Switch to suggest that it could run most current gen games just fine. Even if the developer is just porting games, those games won't be high end PS4 games.

They'll be games like Persona 5, Digimon World and Tales of Berseria.

If Nintendo provides a cable to power the Switch via MicroUSB, power banks will be great for this!

Fuck it though, I'll always be close to an outlet when I play this.

but that's phone and tablet, they play games as an aside. Switch is a gaming console foremost...
They're still gaming on a single screen, it won't be some alien concept just a change. I mean 3DS were ported over to old so it won't be too much of transitio if Nintendo wanted it anyway.

See the thing is if there is a game that have a PC base it would technically be easier and quicker Yo port to the NX.

That's not how any of this works.

Huh...what?
