This forum it's unfair to Pizza Hut

I live in NYC and I know what good authentic pizza is however every now and then you want something different at Pizza Hut certainly taste nothing like anything else

Well, if Pizza Hut is worth having on any sort of basis, I'd say that's good confirmation that "New York pizza" isn't any good.

Pizza Hut is shit.

Since I'm Canadian, if I go for a chain pizza, it's Panago. Boston Pizza is good too, but that place is a joke with their exuberant prices. 25 bucks a pop for a large cheese pizza? Fuck that noise.

this may sound weird... I think it all depends on the location for each chain.

Local pizza is the best... Although Pizza Hut nor Dominos are both ok... The worst by far is little caesars.

Every Pizza Hut I have been to in Australia is way too stingy with the toppings, sometimes there are whole slices with no pepperoni on a damn pepperoni pizza. Fuck that. Off the list for good.

Pizza Hut deserves it's shitty reputation. Insanely greasy, frozen dough, crappy toppings and more expensive than several other chains. Nope, no thanks.

Pizza Hut is the worst of the national chains. Local is always better so when you are the worst national chain, there is literally zero reason to eat there as you have better options available to you. It is rare to find a place in North America where Pizza Hut is your best option.

I could probably eat Thin & Crispy Supreme forever.

No exaggeration, the smell of Dominoes makes me gag. It wasn't always like that, but the last two times I've tried to struggle it down, I was defeated.

This is kinda, sorta true. I grew up in the Midwest where our options were basically Pizza Hut or Dominoes (we didn't even have a Papa Johns until I was in High School). I've since moved to the East Coast where there's like fourteen different local pizza places that all deliver and have slightly different variations (still nowhere with decent Deep Dish, though), but sometimes I just get in the mood for Pizza Hut since it was basically the pizza I grew up eating.

Having said that, it always tastes worse than I remember and I usually only get itonce a year, once I've forgotten how bad it was the last time. Maybe the franchises out here have just given up since the local competition stomps them (seriously, a Pizza Hut large is a medium at most places and twice the price). Always very greasy, if I had grown up eating the pizza I can get now, I might not have developed my fork habit.

After having a whole month of pizza engorging when they had those special half-off/internet deals, I had a lot of both and Pizza Hut's "gourmet" style pizzas are a step above Domino's.

Their new toppings and crust have taken them up a notch. Pretzel Crust with white garlic sauce, chicken and spinach with buffalo sauce drizzle is the bomb. I've gotten spinach chicken from dominos and its alright but the spinach looks like its from a can and the chicken is tough. The spinach from Pizza Hut looks like fresh spinach and tastes good.

Little Caesar's blows away Pizza Hut and Dominos, they beat them in price and in taste. They got a bacon wrapped pizza now and it's so fucking good.

Pizza Hut literally always makes me sick. I do like them a good deal though. Just hate the aftermath.
Dominos tastes okish. But it tastes like crap if you reheat it.
Jerry's is decent.
Little Ceasers is worth it for the price/convenience. I usually go with them.

Like has been said in other threads like this, Pizza Hut used to be good. Then they lowered the quality of their ingredients or something and it tasted awful. They've improved a bit since then but it's nowhere near where it used to be.

It cracks me up how fancy Pizza Hut can be abroad.

I went to China and it is an expensive sit-down restaurant, with cocktail drinks, Italian food, burgers, steak, tacos, lol.

Probably.

My thoughts:
-Cici's: Good if you eat it there; if you order pick-up, you better eat that shit quick, because it quickly goes to hell after about 30min to 1hr. Doesn't last too long outside the oven/heat I guess?
The one time I ordered pick-up and stuck the leftovers in the fridge, it didn't turn out well trying to reheat it. :(

-Pizza Hut: Eh...I've never cared for Pizza Hut much. Then we got one close to the house and they always put too much shit on their pizza. Also notable for one of the few pizzas to make me sick.

-Papa John's: Admittedly...it could be better, but I like it and I can usually get it cheap. Plus, as I found out recently, they tend to do custom orders off their website well...

-Domino's: I remember having it once in College. Was like eating paper cardboard. Not fun. I'm sure it's changed a bit since then, but I haven't had any recently.

Used to have a local place near us for a number of years before it finally switched hands then eventually shut down. I was kinda sad about that.

Pizza Hut is too sweet. I've also heard the pan pizza gets soaked in oil. My point is that there are a lot of calories, mostly carbs. Enjoy your pizza.

I'm not a fan of pizza huts pizza, but once in a while I'll get a craving for one. I usually realize it's a bad decision after a bite. I cry and finish the rest. Start the cycle again months later

I have a lot of fond memories of eating pan pizzas as a kid at a sit-down Hut, but it's all mixed together with dropping way too many quarters on their Golden Axe cabinet.

On a whim I decided to grab a couple pan pizzas a few months ago, and I was completely disappointed, it was pretty grim. It wasn't even a question of not living up to my memories, it was mediocre to bad even within the scope of cheap trash food. I know I was far from discerning about what I'd enjoy cramming down my pie hole when I was 11, but still. What I'm saying is that I deliberately set out to eat some gross fast food and this was worse than a badly put together Munchie Meal with cold halvsies.

Golden Axe has held up amazingly well by comparison.

It's fine for what it is. I have fond memories of it with the book-it club in the late 80's / early 90's. I remember already reading enough before I even started the program, but it was fun to go there with family friends and their kids like once every month or so after school in Elementary school.. Plus they had the neogeo cabinets there which were awesome!

Other than that though, I never really ate the stuff just because if my family ordered pizza it was usually from a local joint.

I dunno, never had a huge issue with it, it just seemed like going into the 2000's, they got kind of expensive and at that point you could get a local pizza for that price. My one gripe on them though, their new logo is kind of meh, just keep the old retro one.

It's okay. I actually think Pizza Hut does by FAR the best thin crust pizza from all of the other chains. The rest do more of a cracker crust, but Pizza Hut has proper paper thin layers together cooked in oil. VERY good.

Not too huge into the rest of their pizza. Too bready and/or too greasy.

As for the best chain pizza, I think Papa Johns is a pretty easy choice. The only one of all of them that has pretty good tomato sauce. Also, everybody else's garlic dipping sauce feels like a pale comparison to theirs. Their ingredients also taste the best, though I think they need to be ordered with extra cheese (though, that honestly goes with most of them; they skimp since cheese is the most costly basic ingredient).
