This gen is ending: does anyone still have a day 1 system that just won't die?

Of the day one launch systems that I own, the NES, SNES, PS2, Gamecube, Gameboy Advance, and Wii all still work. The GBA and PS2 are not in perfect condition however.

My day1 japanese XBOX360 is still running. However, I've burned through two PAL "fat" consoles so far.

I could actually turn on my first broken console for some seconds, while three red lights were blinking. The screen started to mess up after some time and games started crashing.

Still have my European launch Wii. Don't play it anymore though since I left in France when I left for Japan last September, but it was still working perfectly. It had some troubles with Smash Bros second layer (the FMV), but after buying the official lens cleaning kit in preparation for Xenoblade's release (also a DVD9 game) it got better.

day 1 60 gig phat ps3. I don't understand how that thing still functions. I've been working it like it owes me money.

Well, I don't have launch systems (I prefer to wait a bit), but still.

My Phat 40GB PS3 from May 2008 still works fine.

Also, my PSP-1004 from November 2006 is doing well too and I still play it today.

I had my phat 60GB until Fall 2011. It was showing signs of YLOD. Got it replaced with a refurbished one. My 360 had some video problems within a year. Got it replaced and ended up selling it 3 years later. It still works. I just stop buying 360 games.
Everyone I know who bought a 360 or a PS3 had it replaced. I'm talking first gen models.

Launch 20GB PS3 has refused to die and let me upgrade to something with WiFi for so long now that I don't even want to use Adhoc Party anymore.

I have a working launch Japanese Xbox 360. But my original US machine had died a long time ago, substituted by another, and another....

I think I got my ps3 with MGS4 so not day 1 but it's holding up very well (small HDD is annoying as hell though). My Wii is doing fine too. 360 wasn't day 1 either but I had to repair it twice. My white PSP is a Japanese import before it was released in the EU and that's doing fine as well. My DS isn't imported but still works fine.

60GB Launch PS3 here (US version imported to the UK in Jan 2007)

Sounds like a jet but never had any problems with it and still going strong, when ever it dies i'm gonna miss those 4 USB ports

:-(

Of the consoles I've owned and not gotten rid of over the years, the only ones that I have died are one fat PS2 and one 40GB PS3. Survivors: PS1 (original, not in use), GameCube, Wii (seldom used, only a year old).

edit: didn't read the OP. I apologise to all that wasted their time reading my post.

Currently on slim Xbox that is working fine. It's my third Xbox, day 1 Xbox worked around 3,5 years and the RROD. Moved to Asia and got a Chinese (well actually Vietnamese but still) one, from which I later took the harddrive for the slim one when back in Euros. Chinese one worked when I sold it.

Bought PS3 when the slim model came out, still working fine.

Day 1 PS3 60Go still rockin ! (Euro)
Day 1 PSP still rochin ! (Jap import)
Day 1 Wii still rockin ! (Euro)
Day 1 DS , Dsi , Dsxl too !(euro)

Sixty Gig BC PS3 and OG 360 here. Still run fine and abused as heck. Left running for days in hot rooms moving them all over the place. Vertical, horizontal, stuff stacked on them. I expect these next generation systems to brick ten times over for me while no one else has any issues.

Edit: I guess I should also say I have a close to first gen wii but that's seen absolutely no hours. Maybe five or ten, maybe. And a psp1000 which still works beautifully though it's seen temperature extremes on both sides, and I do mean extremes, and dirt and dust and everything under the sun. My DS got stolen with infinite space and ff IV in it but until that point it was the same as the psp and worked beautifully.

My launch 360 and phatty PS3 are both still alive and well.

I should mention that I bought a new slim 360 about a year ago, so I don't use the launch 360 anymore. But I tested it out last month out of curiosity and it was fine. Had no problems playing some Halo 4 and a bit of Trials Evolution.

Bit worrisome, though. I feel like I've been somehow spending a bunch of good karma in a generation where many people have experienced hardware issues. Praying that next gen doesn't turn into a console graveyard for me.

Wii, still working.

Ps3, just YLOD on me last week, fixed it for now. Hope i can last with it untill ps4 (dont do online gaming anymore, which seemed to really crash it often)

Both my 60 gig launch PS3 and my launch 360 died and had to be replaced, but my day one Wii -- in true Nintendo fashion -- is still kicking, despite the fact that the disc drive's been making a loud buzzing noise for the past few years. Still works fine.

This thread makes me paranoid. I've yet to buy day one (or even year one), but the only device I've ever had die on me was a Game Gear that I had long stopped using anyway. I have an original Game Boy that I'm pretty sure still works.

I have never had a gen like this. I am on my 4th xbox, 2 red ringed (were replaced under warranty) and one was stolen along with my PS3 in a house break in.

Even my new xbox, which is around a year old, is starting to freeze around once a week.

The build quality of the xbox is so poor, I have a PS2 and original Nintendo Gameboy that still work. Saying all that I will still buy the new xbox and PS4 day 1 (as long as they have a decent warranty and a good launch lineup)

Day 1 Wii still. Though it once fell and damaged it's video card (over a 2ft fall) but i took it to a repair center and they fixed it. Some of the buttons also got beat up a lil bit but it works just fine.

Unfortunately though i'm on my 3rd PS360.

Day 1 60gb backwards compatible ps3 still kicking. Sounds like a rocket sometimes but I could never never bring myself to trading in the old girl. We share too many good memories.

fat 60GB ps3 (with a bigger HD though) still good (knocks on wood) , also still have my original 360 which was repaired once and the wii is still good as well

Launch Wii.

My launch PS3 and 360 didn't make it.

Same thing happened to my 2nd 360 while i was nearing the end of Gears 3 on insane... However, my 1st 360 didn't even show those symptoms, one day it just RROD.

Original PAL launch Xbox 360 (non HDMI and everything).

Still jet planing along.
