This week's Famitsu thread...(Persona 2 PSP)

i hope they remake EP,FES (add s links and a few new floors and it's basically a complete game) and P4 too,but i doubt the psp has enough life left to see them all
 
Or they could release Eternal Punishment on the PSN as a PSone classic.

I thought Persona 2 came over here...I could swear I played it but I guess I have it mixed up with a SMT or Devil Saga game or something,so if we finally get it in N.A. in english then that`s great news and i`ll pick it up.

There are two Persona 2 games. Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment. The one released in the US is Eternal Punishment. Think of it as DDS and DDS2, except not really.

Thank God there's the option to choose your soundtrack. Was not a fan of Persona 3 style soundtrack for the PSP version of Persona 1. Sounding great, would have been PERFECT if we were getting both IS/EP in the same package.

Never got a chance to play either part of this game when it originally released.

With Persona 1/2/3 all ported to the PSP, it makes me think the Persona game for 3DS is a new game.
 
Eagerly awaiting the P4P that shouldn't exist. :|

Oh whatever, I'm stoked about being able to check out P2, so what am I whining for?
Not to mention that P5 is thankfully close to guaranteed for HD now.

Me too. I loved P3P at first, but there was so much that felt missing, it eventually turned me off.

No, but there's no way Atlus USA would pass up a Persona game. It'll probably be announced after they drop most of their currently announced releases next month.

maaaaybe. But if so don't expect it for many years. The Persona team is locked up on Catherine and then Persona 5 PS3 for the next couple of years.

I think it's more likely that depending on the health of the PSP market in 2 years, P2 EP will be on 3DS. Although it's possible the PSP will still be alive and thriving (who knows, maybe it'll turn out to be the 10 year console Sony wanted with the PS3) and then it'd be on PSP.

Atlus isn't Namco. Megaten = Megamoney, they're not going to pass on anything coming out of this franchise.

I doubt very much that there is such a thing as "the Persona game for 3DS" yet (as opposed to just a general-purpose statement of intent to bring the series to 3DS eventually) and at this point I think P4P would be my top bet for what the first Persona release on 3DS will eventually be.

I don't expect it anytime soon either, but with most of the persona games seeing releases on the PSP, it would be strange for a company like Atlus to release them again for the 3DS. I doubt that P2 EP will go to 3DS now that P2 IS is going to PSP. The engines are similar enough that it would probably be more cost and time efficient to release it for PSP, even if the market declines. Technically, Persona 5 is not a PS3 game yet, all we have are rumors.
 
Persona 2 Innocent Sin PSP is great, but I'd have liked for it to be together with Eternal Punishment, which I guess will come down the road as well.
But at least now AtlusUSA has a second chance to localize it!
 
Soejima and Persona 2, fuck yes. Pre-ordering this immediately when its inevitable English release happens. As much as I loved the P2IS fan translation I could never finish the game itself. I think PS1 emulation and frame skipping where the reason I got so far. Got sick of it after
the Nazi bots invaded or whatever was happening there.
Either way, this will give me that kick to finish it with all the extra's and revisions.

Pretty much the same engine for both and once they tweak Innocent Sin, it shouldn't be that hard to tweak EP. I'd say maybe six months apart?

I dunno, a lot of that depends on Monster Hunter 3. If they make another add-on or enhanced version like there was for 2, it could very well be alive for a couple more years in Japan.

The Venus and Braves website has been updated, presumably with pictures of the PSP version, but I can't get on it at work (blocked for porn!). Anyone able to check http://www.venus-web.net and see if there's anything new up?

And if anyone gets the chance to post the review summaries for Radiant Historia I'd be v. grateful.
